The work environment is constantly changing. It is necessary to adapt effectively in order to have an increased productivity. Terms such as leadership, mindset, long-term goals, critical or analytical mind are the key factors that are deciding the fate of a certain company. In our country, it is mainly young people who are aware of the positive consequences of practicing emotional intelligence. But how easy is it to practice these qualities in a country like Albania? Recently, various trainings are being held for the development of individual performance, but does the Albanian society really know what it means to have an individual performance? One of the basic principles of Adlerian psychology is closely related to the principles of EQ: Thinking of the common good. How can this happen when everyone is supposed to think for themselves? The paper is based on the interpretation of the main tests of Emotional Intelligence by comparing them with the data from a questionnaire that is addressed to 100 employees or people who have at least worked 1 time with contractual agreement. Main tests used are those based on Daniel Goleman’s EQ Framework, specifically “360 degree” instrument. Keywords: Emotional intelligence, HR practices, Leadership, Humanity, Happiness.

Before sailing past the sirens' “flowery meadow,” Ulysses instructed his sailors to lash him to the mast so that he would not succumb to the siren's singing. His advance directive demonstrated that he valued his dispositional or long-term autonomy over his unquestioned right to make decisions. He also indicated to his oarsmen that he understood the nature of temptation and his inability to resist it. Ideas of autonomy and sexual choice are central to this discussion of new AIDS treatments, especially the trials of preventative vaccines. Questions arise over the rights of individuals and the extent that these should be limited by concerns of the gay community. Should the gay community intervene in the risky decisions of individuals if no explicit advance directive exists? If so, how do they justify their paternalism? Could their aims not be better served through strengthening the individual dispositional autonomy of trial participants rather than making specific claims about the common good?

Within the theoretical literature on crime control and offender therapy, little has been written about the importance of virtue ethics in the experience of human justice and in the evolution of the common good. As a theory of being, the aretaic tradition extols eudemonic existence (i.e., excellence, flourishing) as a relational habit of developing character that is both practiced and embodied over time. What this implies is that virtue justice depends on a set of assumptions and predispositions—both moral and jurisprudential—whose meanings are essential to comprehending its psychological structure. This article sets out to explore several themes that our integral to our thesis on the virtues (i.e., the being) of justice. We reclaim justice’s aretaic significance, critique the common conflation of justice and law, discuss how the dominant legalistic conception of justice is rooted in a particular view of human nature, suggest how justice might be more properly grounded in natural moral sensibilities, and provide a tentative explication of the psychological character of justice as a twofold moral disposition. Given this exploratory commentary, we conclude by reflecting on how individual well-being, system-wide progress, and transformative social change are both possible and practical, in the interest of promoting the virtues of justice within the practice of crime control and offender therapy.

This theoretical commentary explores the concept of Gross National Happiness (GNH) and connects it with several central macromarketing concepts such as QoL, ethics, the common good, the purpose of market activity as well as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The paper portrays GNH as a normative concept that captures collective well-being; it categorizes GNH, at least from the standpoint of Western moral philosophy, as most closely aligned with classical utilitarianism, and it distinguishes GNH from QoL on the basis of its predominantly aspirational and subjective orientation. It asserts that GNH can be seen as one manifestation of the common good, and, in that manner can be perceived as a ‘more ethical’ conception of the purpose of business activity. Finally, it links GNH to promising areas of Macromarketing scholarship. One essential contribution of this commentary is that it differentiates subjective community happiness from more objective measures of QoL familiar to macromarketing studies.

Emotional intelligence is defined as the ability to perceive, understand, regulate, and use emotions. Organizational settings are now considered important arenas for the manifestation of human emotions. In order to establish long-term success, today's organizations continually emphasize the search for emotionally intelligent employees. This chapter provides a detailed overview of the current literature on emotional intelligence with respect to work-related attitudes, behaviors, and outcomes. In particular, it provides empirical evidence for the associations of emotional intelligence with job satisfaction, work performance, organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behavior, effective leadership, and well-being. This chapter also provides practical implications and suggestions for future research by addressing plausible moderators and mediators, which are related to emotional intelligence.

This chapter aims to contribute to the debate about corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainable development (SD) and global corporate citizenship (GCC) that is becoming increasingly an important issue for the human well being as well as that of ecological systems. It contains three sections. The first section looks at the concept of CSR with a historical perspective. The dimensions of CSR and its relationship with ethical theories is investigated in the second section since CSR is an ethical concept. Throughout this chapter three main groups of ethical theories classified by Garriga and Mele (2004) will be presented such as normative stakeholder theory, universal rights, the common good approach. Based on the relationship between common good approach and sustainable development, the author will discuss a requirement for global corporate citizenship approach in the third section.

This article proceeds from the aim to revitalise the value of a service ethic for human well-being and the common good of all. The service delivery crisis in South Africa and Africa forms the context. A contemporary example of an embodied practical theology of service is offered, followed by a theological and social analysis of service delivery in South Africa. A theoretical service ethic framework with special reference to practical theology as a living Christopraxis is discussed. Finally, the value of diaconology as a science of service is presented, followed by the conclusion.

Ecological civilization construction is related to not only peoples well-being, but also the long term plan of a countrys development and revitalization. This research applied ant colony clustering algorithm to study the feasibility and key factors of ecological civilization promotion in the college students It is the first time that quantitative method was introduced into the human consciousness research. The results show that college students have known the situation of resources and environmental problems well, which is a advantage for the promotion of ecological civilization concept. However, the role that colleges play in ecological civilization promotion has not performed fully. And above two items are the key factors to promote ecological civilization promotion.

AbstractIndigenous peoples experience three levels of injustice: they are the trans-generational victims of historic colonisation; they are politically disenfranchised and their cultural diversity is not officially recognized. Indigenous peoples struggle for the recognition of their specific rights in order to overcome the injustice they are currently experiencing. This article explains how the recognition of these rights conflicts with some of the basic principles of modern constitutional democracy: the declared equality of all citizens; the legitimization of the state for the common good of all and the legal fiction of one homogenous people making up the state.
