The possibilities of the documentary film to fix ethnological and ethnographic phenomena in all their audiovisual integrity contributed to the realization of this category of films right from the beginnings of non-fiction cinema. At the «Moldova-film» studio, despite the very vigilant ideological conditions of the totalitarian regime, especially when it came to the cultural heritage of the native people, our filmmakers released a series of films, dedicated to customs, rituals and traditions – important components of our national identity. This category of films has been talked about and written in some specialized studies. The cinematographic works “Trânta/Wrestling” (director Anatol Codru) and “Jocurile copilăriei noastre/The Games of our Childhood” (directors Vlad Druc, Mircea Chistrugă) serve as research topic for us. They are dedicated to popular sports games, which, besides being captivating manifestations that have survived through centuries until the present, are imposed in the context of national identity, but, through this prism, the respective works have not been researched yet.

This chapter examines the work of three Australian novelists who are read in the context of modernism, introducing a new dimension for the exploration of individual and national identity. David Malouf defines his Old and New World cultural heritage in a significant body of non-fiction prose, encompassing memoir and cultural commentary, along with reviews and interviews, that runs in tandem with his fiction. His intense literary self-consciousness is manifest in an extended mythology of place and history that emerges in his writing, such as Johnno (1975) and Remembering Babylon (1993). Patrick White's spiritual evocation of Australian landscape is evident from his first novel Happy Valley (1934) through The Tree of Man (1956) and Voss (1957), while issues of the construction of gender and identity are explicit in his memoir Flaws in the Glass: A Self-Portrait (1981) and the posthumously published The Hanging Garden (2012). Christina Stead's later international career, initiated by the republication in 1965 of The Man Who Loved Children (1940) followed by For Love Alone (1944), reveals her radical modernist techniques, her radical politics, and her focus on gender issues, particularly her concern with women artists, ending with the posthumous publication of I'm Dying Laughing: the Humourist (1986).

Preambles are parts of constitutions, which are visibly neglected in legal theory and constitutional law. They are defined as solemn introductions to constitutions, which indicate the sovereign, historical and political context of increasing the new constitutional order, main aims and principles – the foundation of constitution. Such elements are also commonly apparent in most of post communist constitutions of European states. The article shows the integrative function of these preambles, achieved by using clauses creating and maintaining the identity of political community. The clauses with this function are identified as: statements regarding national and cultural heritage, declaration of sovereign as people or nation, and expression of common aims and fundamental principles of community. The article investigates these elements in texts of preambles to post-communist constitutions and indicates their role as tending to create the national identity.

Permainan Tradisional “Adu Gangsing” adalah salah satu jenis permainan tradisional yang diwariskan sejak lama oleh nenek moyang kita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan rancangan dan mengimplementasikan hasil rancangan film dokumenter Permainan Tradisonal “Adu Gangsing” di Buleleng (sebagai warisan budaya leluhur yang tidak lekang oleh waktu), (2) Untuk mengetahui respon masyarakat terhadap hasil akhir film dokumenter “Adu Gangsing” di Buleleng (sebagai warisan budaya leluhur yang tidak lekang oleh waktu) Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian dengan model cyclyc strategy. Model ciclyc strategy terdiri dari tahap brief (riset awal dan penawaran ide), tahap 1 (pengumpulan data dan analisis kebutuhan film), tahap 2 (pra-produksi), evaluasi peneliti, tahap 3 (produksi dan pasca produksi), evaluasi uji ahli (ahli media dan ahli isi), tahap 4 (burning, desain poster, dan desain DVD), outcome (publikasi film) dan uji respon penonton. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa film dokumenter Permainan Tradisonal “Adu Gangsing” di Buleleng (sebagai warisan budaya leluhur yang tidak lekang oleh waktu) dalam kriteria sangat baik. Simpulan yang didapatkan yaitu perancangan film dokumenter Permainan Tradisonal “Adu Gangsing” di Buleleng (sebagai warisan budaya leluhur yang tidak lekang oleh waktu) telah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan model cyclic strategy dengan menggunakan tahapan produksi film. Film dokumenter Permainan Tradisonal “Adu Gangsing” sudah berhasil masuk dalam kategori sangat baik sesuai dengan hasil uji ahli isi dan media. Serta berdasarkan analisis terhadap 30 orang responden yang berasal dari kalangan masyarakat khususnya generasi muda dinyatakan bahwa film dokumenter ini mendapatkan total presentase sebesar 90,59% yang masuk kategori sangat baik.Kata Kunci : Kata kunci: Permainan Tradisional, Adu Gangsing, Film Dokumenter, Cyclic Strategy. Traditional games "Adu Gangsing" is one type of traditional game that has been inherited for a long time by our ancestors. This study aims to (1) produce designs and implement the results of the documentary documentary "Adu Gangsing" Traditional Games in Buleleng (as a timeless heritage), (2) To find out the public response to the final results of the documentary "Adu Gangsing" "In Buleleng (as a timeless cultural heritage) The type of research used in this study is research with a cyclyc strategy model. The Ciclyc strategy model consists of a brief stage (initial research and idea offering), stage 1 (data collection and film needs analysis), stage 2 (pre-production), researcher evaluation, stage 3 (production and post-production), expert test evaluation ( media expert and content expert), stage 4 (burning, poster design, and DVD design), outcome (film publication) and audience response test. The results of the study show that the documentary film "Adu Gangsing" Traditional Games in Buleleng (as a timeless cultural heritage) is in very good criteria. The conclusions obtained were the design of the documentary film "Adu Gangsing" Traditional Games in Buleleng (as a timeless cultural heritage) that has been successfully implemented with a cyclic strategy model using the stages of film production. The documentary film "Adu Gangsing" Traditional Games has successfully entered the excellent category according to the results of the content and media expert test. The interrelation of literature and the history of Kazakh people, we can say, go “hand in hand”. In the history of Kazakh people there are many events related to the capture of Kazakh youth in the royal army, “Goloshchekin's jute”, “Stalinist repressions”, “December events”. As a scientist and encyclopedist of the Kazakh steppe A. Margulan has mentioned that Kazakhstan has become a place where you can quickly multiply through various paths of aggression, deception, looking for a career in the periphery, wanted to adjust financial resources, and it was also a decent land. They led to the fact that on the Kazakh land “to deploy on a spacious steppe”, “to rob the Kyrgyz and bring a silk satin ribbon dress to their wives for their money.” At the same time, as last year, the government never did good for the Kazakh people. Delivery of the literature to the church through a thick historical truth is the result of an independent Kazakh literature. The article deals with the problem of famine in the Kazakh land due to the totalitarian regime. In modern Kazakh prose, a series of works have written the realities of the tragic years in the history of the country. This topic was widely covered in the genre of the novel, a novel of an independent Kazakh literature, in poetic works. At the same time, as a monument to the memory of the victims of the famine during the years of Nubet, it complements its story. The article discusses author’s thematic, ideological, artistic views on the topic of famine. In particular, Turysbek Sauketaev’s novel “Vulture's Winter”, Nagashybek Kapalbekuly’s “ The fume of ground oven ”, Nurdaulet Akysh’s “Merciless spring” and Jh. Shashtayuly’s “ The old man and horse ” were taken to the research object. The article focuses on the fact that the story on the topic of famine is the future memory in the personages’s mind, recalling the past. Awakening of memory in the mind is an literal approach that is actively used by most modern Kazakh prose writers. At the same time, all the works of this subject are proved by actual examples that the difficult moment of a person is in contact with the authors’ natural phenomena. Before dwelling on the tragedy of famine which millions of Kazakhs have done in the center, it is clear that the authors describe in more detail the picture of harsh nature and turn to the method of preliminary preparation of the reader. In this way, writers were able to give the atmosphere of that era. Although the language of the authors is easy to read, all narratives are sketched in accordance with reality. Each generation has to know the history of their native people, literary works of it. If we develop a personality through the patriotic spirit of the history of indigenous nations, this will be a reflection of their consciousness and future citizen who will defend the country and the land with national and civil dignity. AbstractThis qualitative study, conducted between August and December 2006, explored the opinions and experiences of New Zealanders who challenge orthodox attitudes to the use and consumption of nonhuman animals. To date, New Zealand (NZ) has under-investigated the perspectives of those who oppose animal farming, the eating of nonhuman animals, and the exploitation of nonhuman animals. Agriculture substantially influences the economy and cultural heritage of the nation. Given that national identity in New Zealand strongly associates with farming and meat production, this paper investigates how vegetarians living in this country experience and challenge prevalent imagery and ideas about New Zealand. In particular, the paper examines the ways in which “kiwi” vegetarians are disputing the dominant image of New Zealand as “clean and green” and a land of "animal lovers" and how they are experiencing mainstream (meat-loving) kiwi culture in their everyday lives. The paper also examines some of the more positive aspects for vegetarians of living in New Zealand.

Shaykh Bakrii Saphalo was a perceptive Oromo Muslim scholar who used traditional Oromo wisdom to make Islam intelligible to his people and part of their cultural heritage. A gifted poet who wrote in Arabic, Oromo, and Somali, he was persecuted by two successive Ethiopian regimes during the 1960s and 1970s. As an activist scholar, he sought to spread knowledge among the Oromo, who constitute about 40 percent of Ethiopia’s population. Due to the government’s tight control and distance, as well as the lack of modern communication and technology, his effort was limited mainly to the Oromo in Hararghe, eastern Ethiopia. For over six decades Shaykh Bakrii sought to uplift his people and secure respect for their language, culture, human dignity, and national identity. 1 Motivated by his desire to develop the Oromo language, which at that time was banned, he struggled to develop written literature in it. But despite all of these accomplishments, he has been largely forgotten.

This chapter explores the protection of cultural heritage in Asia. Rapid socioeconomic transformation in East Asia and South East Asia has posed a serious challenge to the cultural heritage of the sub-regions. The substantial damage and destruction inflicted on the cultural heritage, coupled with the growth of public awareness on its importance for national identity, prompted the governments in the region to take action, in particular through promulgation of the laws and regulations for the protection of cultural heritage. In so doing, the meaning of cultural heritage has generally expanded beyond the traditional, tangible cultural objects into intangible and underwater cultural heritage. A series of international conventions for the protection of cultural heritage, adopted under the auspices of UNESCO, has undoubtedly provided much impetus. Also, the question of return or repatriation of cultural objects to their countries of origin looms increasingly large in Asia.
