This study aims to establish Middle East users' perspectives on the major factors that impact their decision to adopt Augmented Reality AR smart glasses (ARSG). Thus, an online questionnaire was designed and sent directly to the respondents, and 584 valid data points were collected from individuals living in the Middle East. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlations and Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) techniques using SPSS. Eleven hypotheses were tested using Multiple Regression analysis, where seven independent variables out of eleven were confirmed to have a significant impact on the perceived adoption of ARSG. The results indicate that four of the independent variables including Pre-Market Knowledge, Image, Own privacy and Technology innovativeness show the significant impact on ARSG adoption at the 1% significant level. In addition, the results indicate that three of the social and technological factors include Perceived Ease of use, Perceived usefulness and Other's privacy show the significant effect on ARSG adoption at the 5% significant level. Among the 7 social and technological factors, the results suggest that technology innovation expresses the strongest effect on ARSG adoption with the highest coefficient value of 0.413 (b = 0.413, t = 12.881, ρ < 0.01). Moreover, user intention is significantly impacted by gender and place of living but not by education or age. The research also provides pre-market insights on users' personal types that represent who will most likely adopt the new smart glasses and that differentiate them based on their priorities. To the best of our knowledge, this is among the first works to investigate technology acceptance drivers of AR smart glasses in the Middle East.

Google classroom can work in unidirectional process as it can serve the teachers’ strategies and styles on one hand and students’ perception, understanding, and effective participation in different classroom skills on the other hand. The ac-ceptance of Google classroom is affected by different factors. Some of them are still not clearly specified and discussed in previous research; therefore, they need further investigation. Based on the previous assumption, this study is an attempt to examine the factors that affect the students’ acceptance of Google classroom at Al Buraimi University College (BUC) in Oman. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was adopted to formulate the hypotheses of the current study. The data was collected through an online questionnaire with 337 respondents. The Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) approach was used to assess both the measurement and structural models. The results of the study prove that both the perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU) positively influence the behavioral intention, which in turn influence the actual usage of Google classrooms. This study helps the decision makers of the higher educational institutions to have a better understanding of the effectiveness of us-ing Google classroom by their students. It is assumed that it helps in measuring the level of students’ acceptance to the previously mentioned technology.

A new paradigm emerged in the field of education along with the development of increasingly advanced technology, namely the emergence of an electronic learning system known as e-learning. One of the e-learning media that is currently popular in Indonesia is Ruangguru online learning application that can be accessed through smartphone. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence student’s acceptance of Ruangguru application using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) method. The 5 (five) constructs of the TAM research model were used, namely Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude Toward Using, Actual System Use, and Behavioral Intention of Use. The data collection used is an online questionnaire with purposive sampling technique. The results show that Attitude Towards Using did not have a significant effect on Behavioral Intention of Use, meaning that the students’ attitude towards using of did not affect students' intentions in using Ruangguru application. At the same time, the relationship of Perceived Ease of Use to Perceived Usefulness is the most significant influence where the ease in using Ruangguru application makes users feel that Ruangguru application is useful.

This study aims to investigate the most effective and interesting variables that urge use of the smartwatch (SW) in a medical environment. To achieve this aim, the study was framed using an innovative and integrated research model, which is based on combining constructs from a well-established theoretical model’s TAM and other features that are critical to the effectiveness of SW which are content richness and personal innovativeness. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is used to detect the determinants affecting the adoption of SW. The current study depends on an online questionnaire that is composed of (20) items. The questionnaire is distributed among a group of doctors, nurses, and administration staff in medical centers within the UAE. The total number of respondents is (325). The collected data were implemented to test the study model and the proposed constructs and hypotheses depending on the Smart PLS Software. The results of the current study show that the main constructs in the model contribute differently to the acceptance of SW. Based on the previous assumption, content richness and innovativeness are critical factors that enrich the user’s perceived usefulness. In addition, perceived ease of use was significantly predictive of either perceived usefulness or behavioral intention. Overall findings suggest that SW is in high demand in the medical field and is used as a common channel among doctors and their patients and it facilitates the role of transmitting information among its users. The outcomes of the current study indicate the importance of certain external factors for the acceptance of the technology. The genuine value of this study lies in the fact that it is based on a conceptual framework that emphasizes the close relationship between the TAM constructs of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use to the construct of content richness, and innovativeness. Finally, this study helps us recognize the embedded motives for using SW in a medical environment, where the main motive is to enhance and facilitate the effective roles of doctors and patients.

Due to an aging population and the impact of chronic disease, health insurance costs in Taiwan have increased year by year. In order to allow people access to great medical care from home or within their community, the Taiwanese government has promoted a number of telehealthcare policies. Most related research emphasizes the technology involved in such policies, but this study considers instead the combination of a technology acceptance model, a health belief model, and measures of trust within the community to probe the Taiwanese telehealthcare system. This study was developed to examine factors that affect the usage, attitudes, and intentions of healthcare consumers within a telehealthcare system. 284 responses were collected via an online survey and analyzed using SPSS 23 and smart PLS2.0. The results showed that perceived ease of use and usefulness were affected by social trust, perceived usefulness was affected by perceived ease of use, users’ attitudes were affected by perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, and user intention was affected by perceived usefulness, perceived seriousness, perceived benefits, and cues to action.

The use of Internet technology as a medium for marketing purpose in order to obtain correspondence between marketers and consumers so that consumers can feel the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment in shopping satisfaction and marketers get the implication that repeat purchases by consumers. This research is explanatory research using sampling techniques that accidental sampling method combined with snowball sampling method. The data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. This study used a multiple regression analysis. The conclusion that can be derived from the results of the analysis are from three independent variables studied, only two (2) independent variables that significantly affect the variable satisfaction (satisfaction) consumer m-business users in the city of Pontianak is the variable perceived ease of use, and perceived enjoyment, while the variable perceived usefulness does not significantly affect the variable satisfaction (satisfaction) m-business consumer users in the city of Pontianak.

With the pervasive take-up and presence of digital technologies, learning management system (LMS) is popular for its open accessibility and its interactive nature. Implementation of LMS has become part of the strategic plan in higher education institution to enhance the flexibility in teaching and learning. It is essential to explore the perceptions of users in using the LMS in order to inform stakeholders the positive influencing aspects and improve the negative factors in the future. This study investigates the perception of lecturers in using LMS in term of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use for teaching purposes. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is used as the research framework to design the questionnaire. An online questionnaire was created to address the research questions. The results reveal that lecturers do not react positively towards perceived ease of use of Moodle for teaching. Lecturers treat Moodle as content repository and do not fully utilize the interactive features in Moodle. It was found that usability issues, interaction and communication issues had a negative impact on the lecturers' perception.

Background: The employment of IT in healthcare reflects a need to meet the increasing demands of patients and to upgrade the quality and productivity of the provided services. However, the literature demonstrates many failures in systems and IT technology implementation. One of the reasons behind these failures is users&rsquo; resistance. The ministry of health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia (SA) has prioritized the embracing of new technologies that could improve the healthcare services, such as electronic medical record (EMR) systems. On the other hand, studies that address the acceptance and use of hospital information systems (HIS) and EMRs in SA from patients&rsquo; standpoint are scarce. The aim of this study was to explore patients&rsquo; acceptance of an EMR system by proposing a model adapted from the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). Methods: An online questionnaire was used where questions were based on the proposed model constructs (facilitating conditions (FC), perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), attitude (ATT), and behavioral intention (BI)). 116 patients responded to the questionnaire. The model was then tested to identify the factors that affect patients&rsquo; intention to use the online services of the EMR. Results: The analysis of the research model suggested that (1) FCs influenced the degree of system&rsquo;s PEOU. (2) PEOU affected the EMR&rsquo;s PU. (3) PU affected patients&rsquo; ATT toward using the EMR. (4) A positive effect is found between ATT and BI to use EMR. Conclusion: The study has implications for healthcare IT acceptance research and efforts in SA, as to date patients&rsquo; perspectives have received little attention. The research also makes a theoretical contribution as it validated the proposed model.

An enormous number of Internet users have made China a profitable e-commerce marketplace, and clothing is one of the most frequently purchased items. This study explores the predictors of consumers’ motivation to buy clothing online in China by extending the technology acceptance model. Data were collected via an online questionnaire, resulting in 504 returned responses. The results indicate that perceived usefulness has a significant effect on consumers’ intention to buy clothing online; however, no direct relationship between perceived ease of use and buying intention was found. Furthermore, perceived convenience, perceived money saving, and perceived time-saving can explain why consumers perceive buying clothing online as useful, and these perceptions have positive effects on buying intention. Additionally, the findings imply that fashion innovativeness and friend circles significantly influence consumers’ intention to purchase clothing online. This article discusses the results and provides recommendations for implication and future research.

The study was an investigation of the impact of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of business intelligence (BI) tools among users. The relationship between and among the dependent variable (utilization of BI tools) and the independent variables (perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use) was investigated through the lenses of technology acceptance model (TAM). Other objectives for the current research were to build a model to predict users’ utilization of the independent variables, and to generalize the results of the research to the IT population. Data for the current research was collected utilizing a survey questionnaire, designed by the researcher, with a 5-point Likert scale to interpret responses to the survey questions. The analysis consisted of descriptive statistics and multiple regressions models. A prediction model was structured using generalized linear models. The result of the study was the development of a prediction model for BI tools utilization through the lenses of a technology acceptance model (TAM). The model highlighted the importance of up-to-date information provided by current BI tools, ability of BI tools to provide users with more analytical tools to accomplish their jobs, the degree to which BI tools allow users to present convincing arguments, the ability of BI tools to provide users with more possible solutions, the ability of BI tools to reduce the time required to accomplish jobs, and the ability of BI tools to help users make relevant business predictions.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to find out how to encourage the use of Web 2.0 in learning in higher education by investigating factors that would relate to and would encourage such behaviour. Design/methodology/approach – Three existing theories of technology acceptance underpinned this research and six constructs selected from these existing theories and one new construct from a pilot study were used to develop a conceptual model which constructs were operationalized into an online questionnaire (open and closed ended questions). Copies of this questionnaire were electronically distributed to all students in a higher institution of learning in Scotland. In total, 203 responded. Correlation and regression analyses were performed on the quantitative data collected so as to validate the research model. A focus group of ten volunteer students provided opportunity for a follow-up interview that produced in-depth information which provided strategies for enhancing the use of Web 2.0 tools for learning in higher education. Findings – All the factors of the model, except perceived ease of use, positively relate significantly with use behaviour. The factors are perceived usefulness, facilitating conditions, motivation, prior knowledge, performance expectancy and social factors. Research limitations/implications – The study was performed at only one institution in Scotland. The implication of the study is that predictor variables (mentioned above in the findings) of the model should be taken into consideration when introducing Web 2.0 to students of higher learning. Practical implications – In the paper are discussed specific strategies and these include assigning roles to users with little participation, checking to ensure irregular users have access and e-mailing them to encourage participation. Originality/value – This is apparently the first time the key technology acceptance models have been synthesised and tested in Scotland with regards to the acceptance of Web 2.0 tools in learning in higher education.
