This research based article discusses on issues and practices of classroom management from the local perspectives. It is based on the context of public school of Nepal. The participant is an EFL teacher of public school in Kathmandu, teaching in middle school and secondary level there. The classroom management practices in the EFL teacher’s classes are seen using classroom observation tool, in her classes of both the levels for a week using qualitative framework. The findings show the traditional practice still dominating the classroom activities. Therefore the article is based on the issues of classroom management being specific to the seating arrangements, discipline, peer work, group work, space, presentation, and time management in the public school where classroom observation has been done.

Strengthening Character Education is an educational program in schools to strengthen students' character with moral values. The Indonesian government launched this program to faced students’ moral degradation. As the country that used English as a Foreign Language (EFL), this study investigates the challenges faced by a teacher in the implementation of Strengthening Character Education in the EFL classroom and to know teacher strategy to change the challenges become opportunities. This study conducted a case study of the EFL teacher in Junior High School. The data collection consisted of classroom observation, interview, documentation, and data triangulation. The findings gained, the teacher has implemented several character values in the EFL classroom activities. The teacher faced challenges coming from the students, learning situations, and learning materials. For the opportunities, there was classroom management and being a role model.

Knowledge management gains space within the school organization and can contribute satisfactorily to the quality of teaching. In everyday life the school manager intuitively uses knowledge management practices without exploiting the potentials they offer or allow. In this context, the purpose of this work is to identify the level of implementation of knowledge management practices aimed at structuring the organizational processes used by the public school manager. The methodology adopted was exploratory, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. For data collection, an already validated instrument with twenty-seven questions was used. Respondents to the questionnaires, one hundred and eleven managers of the basic education schools that make up the public school system in a city in the northwestern region of Paraná, Southern Brazil. In analyzing the results, it was only at this point that we investigated only those practices that were related to the structuring of organizational processes. This decision is justified because of the responsibilities of the school manager in the execution of his work. The results indicated that the school in its daily life, makes use of practices of Knowledge Management related to the structuring of the organizational processes and that many are already applied by the managers.

Purpose of the study: This study ascertained the classroom management practices of teachers and their relationship to the academic performance of college students of a state university in the Philippines. Methodology: As a correlational study, 317 randomly selected senior college students served as respondents. A survey questionnaire was used to determine the level of teachers’ classroom management practices. The Grade Point Averages (GPAs) of the students constitute their academic performance. Frequency, percentage, mean, and Pearson r were used to analyse gathered data statistically. Main Findings: When the teachers give priority to the physical classroom condition, the students tend to feel relaxed and comfortable, thereby displaying a higher level of academic performance. Further, students performed better when the teachers positively reinforced their responses. Furthermore, the students’ better performance in their educational undertakings is linked with teachers’ adeptness in time management. Applications of this study: To further improve the academic performance of students, teachers may strengthen the teaching-learning process through the following provisions: inspiring classroom setups, classroom enhancement programs (peer teaching, remedial and tutorial programs), appropriate educative measures and proper allocation of time. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides verifications that some aspects of classroom management such as physical condition, discipline, and time management are significantly linked to students’ academic success.

Contract management is an important activity in public procurement especially on executing development projects while aiming at value for money. On the contrary, reports from the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority show that funds have been wasted due to poor contract management practices hindering value for money achievement. Hence, the study aimed at assessing the contribution contracts management practices towards value for money achievement. Questionnaires and Interviews were used for data collection and findings revealed that contracts contained all the necessary conditions, contracts practices of time management, quality management and costs control were effective and resulted into value for money achievement. Therefore, value for money was achieved above average scale by considering qualitative measures and it was recommended that more efforts are needed to enhance supervision and enforce defect liability clause.

This research aimed at finding out the classroom management practices by an EFL teacher at an inclusive school. There were four major aspects of classroom management as the focus of this research. Those are rules, physical environment, classroom climate, and teacher’s role. The subject of this study was an English teacher in class XI MM 2 at SMK Negeri 3 Singaraja. This study was a case study with qualitative research design. The methods of data collection were observation and interview. The findings showed that the classroom management practices by the teacher were successful to be implemented for both the inclusive and regular students. The rules created and communicated by the teacher were effective to develop the students’ behaviour and attitude as well as support the learning process. For the physical environment, the teacher provided spacious space for the physical disability student to move freely. The teacher gave positive and negative reinforcements for the students’ attitude and behaviour. Besides, the teacher modified the lesson plan, instruction, and assessment based on the student’s special needs. However, the teacher did not interact directly with the inclusive student’s parents and it should be done to support the learning process. In addition, there was no special escort teacher and training for the teacher to support the learning process.

Self-efficacy is influential in determining someone's future competence. Identifying self-efficacy towards pre-service teachers provides significant information about how competent they are in applying theoretical concepts of teaching in the real school. It also becomes reflection for the institution on the quality of courses related to TEFL carried out in the implemented curriculum. Accordingly, this study aims to investigate pre-service EFL teachers' self-efficacy during the teaching practicum. This is a qualitative study involving 27 EFL teacher candidates who conducted teaching performance in some different schools. To collect the data, online Likert scale questionnaire was disseminated to the informants. The responses were interpreted through percentage and analyzed descriptively. The results indicated that generally the pre-service teachers' self-efficacy in terms of teaching skill, constructing and applying lesson plan, assessment, and classroom management, was quite high although some of them seemed to find difficulties in carrying out some classroom activities with the students. Self-efficacy analysis towards EFL learners� practicum gives implication to any institutional parties for preparing the better quality and program of future generation teachers.Keywords: competent; teacher candidate; self-efficacy; reflection.

This article presents a practical and collegial model of problem solving that is based upon the literature in supervision and cognitive learning theory. The model and the procedures it generates are applied directly to supervisory interactions in the public school environment. Specific principles of supervision and related recommendations for collaborative problem solving are discussed. Implications for public school supervision are addressed in terms of continued professional growth of both supervisees and supervisors, interdisciplinary team functioning, and renewal and retention of public school personnel.
