Cervical cancer (CeCa) is a public health problem, the prevention efforts have focused on the screening of women at risk of contracting the disease since timely prevention can predict the evolution of the disease. The purpose of the histopathological study is to provide a more accurate diagnosis in order to give guidelines on the basis of which the treatment and follow-up of the patients is planned. However, despite the certainty of the histopathological study, certain methodological improvements have been suggested in which some researches report that making cuts at different levels in the paraffin block of the cervical biopsy could increase the sensitivity of the histopathological study.

Nurses in care woman with cervical cancerAbstract: The Cancer Cervical presents nowadays a major public health problem in Brazil, requiring more and more trained professionals to combat this evil disease, minimizing morbidity and mortality. Phenolic glycolipid antibody (PGL-I) is considered a relevant marker of leprosy. However anti PGL-I test is not been widely implemented in field situations. In this work we performed a study of examining the anti-PGL-I to HHC recruited in Anápolis, Brazil, endemic city for leprosy. They were performed three evaluations during this follow up. During this study a proportion of incident cases significantly higher (p<0.005) was detected among PGL-I positive contacts (13/108). PGL-I positive contacts presented a 6.5-fold higher risk for leprosy compared with PGL-I negative contacts. This work has shown that the majority HHC that became ill presented anti PGL-I positive before the first signs of leprosy. After this study, we uphold that home visits to find new patients among HHC and the realization of PGL-I test can be a great step to control leprosy as a public health problem in endemic locals. Key words: PGL-I; Hansen's disease; HHC.

Abstract Purpose To assess whether dysglycaemia diagnosed during SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia may become a potential public health problem after resolution of the infection. In an adult cohort with suspected COVID-19 pneumonia, we integrated glucose data upon hospital admission with fasting blood glucose (FBG) in the year prior to COVID-19 and during post-discharge follow-up. Methods From February 25th to May 15th 2020 660 adults with suspected COVID-19 pneumonia were admitted to the San Raffaele Hospital (Milan, Italy). Through structured interviews / medical record reviews we collected demographics, clinical features and laboratory tests upon admission and additional data during hospitalization or after discharge and in the previous year. Upon admission, we classified participants according to ADA criteria as having: a) pre-existing diabetes; b) newly diagnosed diabetes; c) hyperglycaemia not in the diabetes range; d) normoglycaemia. FBG prior to admission and during follow-up were classified as normal or impaired fasting glucose and fasting glucose in the diabetes range. Results In patients with confirmed COVID (n=589) the proportion with pre-existing or newly diagnosed diabetes, hyperglycaemia not in the diabetes range and normoglycaemia was 19.6%, 6.7%, 43.7% and 30.0%, respectively. Patients with dysglycaemia associated to COVID-19 had increased markers of inflammation and organs’ injury and poorer clinical outcome compared to those with normoglycemia. After the infection resolved, the prevalence of dysglycaemia reverted to pre-admission frequency. Conclusions COVID-19 associated dysglycaemia is unlikely to become a lasting public health problem. Alarmist claims on the diabetes risk after COVID-19 pneumonia should be interpreted with caution.

WHO has created a global strategy to accelerate the elimination of cervical canceras a public health problem and a world burden. Cervical cancer is a disease thatcan be prevented and cured, as long as it is detected early and treated effectively.Cervical cancer is also a disease that reflects global injustice. The burden isgreatest in low- and middle-income countries, where access to public healthservices is limited and screening and treatment for the disease has not been widelyapplied. In 2018, nearly 90% of all deaths worldwide occurred in low and middleincome countries. Furthermore, the proportion of women with cervical cancer whodie from the disease is more than 60% in these countries, more than double thenumber in many high-income countries, which is only 30%.
