By analyzing the attributes of three-dimensional space data model, the integrated 3D spatial data adopts object-oriented method for digital landslide modeling. It achieves spatial data modeling for landslide geological entity. An experimental case is given to indicate the feasibility of this approach for spatial data modeling.

Since the concept of integrated product development environment (IPDE) was introduced from the US Department of Defense, the Korean navy has made efforts to apply the concept to its naval design and production. Recently, the Korean navy has supported a project for naval shipbuilding to achieve the advanced defense acquisition program. This project focuses on the integration of naval shipbuilding information. The Product Model Management System (PMMS) for Korean naval acquisition was a partial result of the project. The architecture of PMMS and the product structure of a naval ship are proposed in this paper. Also, the data acquisition process among acquisition program administration offices and contractors is defined for the construction of three-dimensional naval ship product models in PMMS. By constructing the product model on previous Korean naval ships, the PMMS was confirmed to a suitable innovative acquisition strategy. PMMS is on the leading edge of new product and process innovations in the Korean naval shipbuilding.

Abstract This paper describes our proposed methodology for process selection that applies to the early stages of product design. We focus on net-shape manufacturing processes and identify the major factors that affect the selection of an appropriate process. The sequence at which designers typically make decisions depends largely on the nature of the product and the development environment. Thus, a versatile methodology should consider all the factors simultaneously in assessing the suitability of the candidate processes. The paper describes three types of knowledge that represent the compatibility of various processes to a given set of specifications: a) Case-based knowledge, i.e., templates of good, bad, and poor combination of decisions, b) Ordinal relationships among candidate processes based on interval analysis of cost, and c) Life-cycle cost estimate. Each type of knowledge gives an evaluation of suitability (compatibility) of candidate processes. Our future challenge lies in combining these measures at various stages of product development. Our initial studies on relationships between process selection and influencing factors lead to a HyperCard stack which stores information in an object-oriented fashion. This stack contains information which is the basis for our future computer-aid for process selection.

The virtual reality technology is a three-dimensional virtual environment composed by computer hardware, software and various of sensors. It creates an unprecedented wealth of content and more fantastic teaching environment which reflects strong advantage in experiment and practice. In accordance with the needs of experiment teaching, multi-level interrupt virtual experiment environment is studied combining with the characteristics of its principle. The experiment environment is based on Tec-xp test box designed and developed by Tsinghua University computer factory. Microsoft Visual C++6.0 language is adopted for software platform development. Seen from the system needs analysis, object-oriented simulation method is adopted for modeling in this experiment environment. Meanwhile combining with computer system features and the characteristics of Computer Organization Principle teaching, the basic theory and methods of discrete event system simulation are used, which make the operation of virtual environment the same as on real device.
