Six star-shaped oligomers containing triphenylamine (D1–D3) and benzene unit (D4–D6) as cores have been synthesized by Wittig condensation or Heck coupling reaction using aromatic aldehydes and triphenylphosphonium salts or aromatic halogenated compounds with vinyl triphenylamine. All oligomers have well-defined molecular structure and high purity. Characterization of the oligomers was made by FT-IR, 1H-NMR spectroscopy, UV-Vis, and fluorescence spectroscopy. The electrochemical behavior was studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV). The cyclic voltammograms have revealed that oligomers undergo quasireversible or irreversible redox processes. The irreversible process is associated with electrochemical polymerization of oligomers by dimerization of unsubstituted triphenylamine groups. Thermal characterization was accomplished by TGA and DSC methods and evidenced that all oligomers were stable materials until 250°C and have formed stable molecular glasses after first heating scan.

The syntheses, physico-chemical and spectroscopic characterization of ovan-type Schiff-base ligands (L1, L2) and their novel mononuclear Pd(II) complexes (PdL1, PdL2) are reported herein. Elemental analysis, FT-IR,1H NMR as well as magnetic susceptibility measurements characterised the compounds. The catalytic potential of the Pd(II) complexes for Heck coupling reaction were investigated and monitored using GC. It was observed that both Pd(II) complexes displayed properties of good catalysts for the reaction, indicated by 100% conversion of the starting materials to the subtituted alkene product after 6 hours of reaction time at 100°C in inert conditions. The catalytic activity was compared with the reaction without Pd(II) complexes.

AbstractA simple, straightforward, and ultrasound-promoted method for the preparation of some highly functionalized tetrahydropyridines reported via pseudo five-component reaction of (hetero)aromatic aldehydes, different anilines, and alkyl acetoacetates in the presence of [N-CH2CO2H-3-pic]+HSO4−, as a novel ionic liquid, in green aqueous medium. The IL was synthesized utilizing simple and easily-handled substrates and characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, GC-MASS, FESEM, EDX, and TGA/DTG techniques. The procedure contains some highlighted aspects which are: (a) performing the MCR in the presence of aqua and sonic waves, as two main important and environmentally benign indexes in green and economic chemistry, (b) high yields of products within short reaction times, (c) convenient work-up procedure, (d) preparing the new IL via simple substrates and procedure.

(1) Background: The research aims to find new treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, in particular, Alzheimer’s disease. (2) Methods: This article presents a bioinformatics and pathology study of new Schiff bases, (EZ)-N′-benzylidene-(2RS)-2-(6-chloro-9H-carbazol-2-yl)propanehydrazide derivatives, and aims to evaluate the drug-like, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and pharmacogenomic properties, as well as to predict the binding to therapeutic targets by applying bioinformatics, cheminformatics and computational pharmacological methods. (3) Results: We obtained these Schiff bases by condensing (2RS)-2-(6-chloro-9H-carbazol-2-yl)propanehydrazide with aromatic aldehydes, using the advantages of microwave irradiation. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized spectrally, using FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy, which confirmed their structure. Using bioinformatics tools, we noticed that all new compounds are drug-likeness features and may be proposed as potentially neuropsychiatric drugs (4) Conclusions: Using bioinformatics tools, we determined that the new compound 1e had a high potential to be used as a good candidate in neurodegenerative disorders treatment.

The electrochromic PANI film was prepared by emulsion polymerization with dodecyl benzene sulphonic acid (DBSA) as dopant and ammonium persulfate (APS) as initiator. Ultrasonic dispersion was adopted in the polymerization. The electrochemical properties, the surface morphology and structure of the prepared PANI film was characterized by means of Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), cyclic voltammograms (CV) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), respectively. The relationship between the morphology and properties of PANI film was detailedly discussed. The PANI film exhibited an excellent electrochromism with reversible color changes form yellow to purple. The PANI film also had quite good reaction kinetics with fast switching speed, and the response time for oxidation and reduction were 65 ms and 66 ms, respectively.

A series of bicyclic alkylamino carbenes (BICAAC) (where N-aryl = dipp, mes, 2,6-dimethyl-4-(dimethylamino)phenyl, 5a-d) and their novel air- and moisture-resistant pyridine (pyridine, 4 dimethylaminopyridine) containing palladium PEPPSI-type Pd(II) complexes (6a-e) were synthetized and characterized. The new palladium complexes have shown high activity in Mizoroki–Heck coupling reaction even at as low as 100 ppm loading (TON up to 10000). Kinetic studies revealed that reactions carried out in the presence of elemental mercury resulted in decrease in activity. It indicates that the coupling reaction may have both molecular and Pd(0)-mediated catalytic paths.

ABSTRACTIn this study, 3 types of zwitterionic phospholipid biosurfactants LDP(S), CDP(S) and CTDP(S) were prepared from 3 different raw materials such as rapeseed oil, coconut oil and cottonseed oil respectively. The structure of the resulting phospholipid biosurfactants was elucidated by FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopies and their interfacial properties have been examined such as CMC, static surface tension, wetting property, solution stability, and foam property. Interfacial property measurement and prescription test in cosmetic formulation prepared with the newly synthesized biosurfactants revealed that CDP(S) biosurfactant possesses excellent mildness and superior interfacial properties, indicating the potential applicability in cosmetic product formulations.

Copolymers based on 1, 4-diethoxybenzene (DEB) and 3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) were electrochemically synthesized and characterized. The structures of the copolymers were established by 1H NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy. The results indicated the final product was a copolymer instead of a blend or a composite. The physical properties were systematically investigated by cyclic voltammetry, UV-vis absorption and fluorescence. The PL maximum of copolymers presented obviously red-shift to long wavelength as the feed ratio of EDOT in monomer mixture increased.
