The efficiency and responsiveness agronomic to the main macronutrients is becoming increasingly important due to the risk of supply, since it is a finite resource. In addition, excess fertilizer decreases the quality of water and air. Thus, the objective of this work was to assess the corn hybrids in terms of their efficiency and responsiveness to nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K), and identify the ones most suitable for fresh consumption, according to the product type and technological level to be adopted by the farmer. The randomized complete block design in a 10 × 3 (hybrids and doses) factorial scheme was adopted for the experiment, with three replications, for two season crops (2013/14 and 2014/15). Ten hybrids (2B512PW, 2B587PW, 2B707PW, 30F35HR, 30F53YH, AG1051, BRS1055, BM3061, P3646H e P3862YH) were used in isolation under low availability (without application) and partial, of N, P and K, in an isolated manner, also evaluated under the recommended dose, aiming at fresh consumption. The most efficient and responsive hybrid must first be identified in isolation, based on the availability it is subjected to and later, by its sale, focused on fresh consumption. The hybrids indicated for low availability (low technological level) were BRS1055 and 30F53YH, with respect to responsiveness or agronomic efficiency, the hybrid P3862YH was the one that presented the best performance and indicated for technological levels of medium to high, considering the classification obtained for the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium for production vegetable corn.

The low quality of Entisol is caused by low availability of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium as well as low soil pH, so the addition of vermicompost is necessary. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of vermicompost application on soil quality and to obtain the highest vermicompost dosage on the availability of nutrients such as N, P, K, and the yield of corn. The field experiment used a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with 7 dosages of vermicompost and three replications. The treatments were V0 = 0; V1 = 5; V2 = 10; V3 = 15; V4 = 20; V5 = 25; V6 = 30 Mg ha-1. Variables observed consisted of 1) initial soil and vermicompost characterization analysis, 2) soil analysis and N, P, and K content in leaves, and yield of corn. The results showed that Entisol was classified as low quality; however, vermicompost quality complied with the requirements of quality organic fertilizer. The experiment also indicated that the highest pH of Entisol (5.31) and K content in corn leaves (2.12%) were obtained at a dose of vermicompost 25 Mg ha-1. Meanwhile, the highest weight of husked corn cobs (415.55 g plant-1) and weight of unhusked corn cob (351.11 g plant-1) were obtained at a vermicompost dose of 15 Mg ha-1.

A field experiment was conducted at the BINA sub-station of Tajhat, Rangpur in the Tista Meander Floodplain soil during aman season 2003 to study the response of T. aman rice to S, Mg, Zn, B, Mo and organic amendments. The experiment was laid-out in a randomized complete block design with nine treatments is with three replications as T1: complete (S + Mg + Zn + B + Mo), T2: complete–S, T3: complete–Mg, T4: complete–Zn, T5: complete–B, T6: complete–Mo, T7: cowdung @ 5 t/ha, T8: poultry manure @ 5 t/ha and T9: control. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were applied in recommended doses as basal. The highest grain (3927 kg/ha) and straw (4472 kg/ha) yields were recorded with the application of poultry manure, followed by cowdung and complete (S+Mg+Zn+B+Mo) treatment. The lowest yield was recorded in the control plot. The overall results indicate that application of organic amendments with NPK gave satisfactory yield of T. aman rice in the Tista Meander Floodplain Soil.

A field experiment was conducted at Unifert Research Station Yousfiah Center of Iraq during spring of 2015 by grafting five cucumber hybrids named Mayadine, Ghazeer, Najim, Emparator and Beit Alpha on the rootstock ES101 (Cucurbita maxima x Cucurbita moschata) used the hole Insertion technique. The experiment content 10 treatments which were the grafted and ungrafted hybrids using randomized complete block design with three replications. The results showed that grafted Emparator (C4G) gave asignificans increase in the number of leaves (124.20 leaf.plant-1), leaf area (1.85 m2), chlorophyll leaf content (603.0 mg.100 g-1), plant dry weight (191.7 g.plant-1) and the amount of absorbed (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) by square area which were (17.77, 1.11 and 14.82 g.m-2, respectively). However, grafted Nagim (C3G) showed an increase in fruit count (14.03 fruit.plant-1), plant yield (1.53 kg.plant-1, early yield (10.60 ton.ha-1) and total yield (28.77 ton.ha-1).

<p>Viola cornuta L. is an ornamental plant that is primarily propagated by high-quality seeds that have high demand in subtropical countries. The use of fertilizers according to recommendations results in the growth of parent plants below the standard. Furthermore, seed production is generated below 2 g per plant and the seed germination capacity is below 80%. In addition, phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) nutrients can increase the growth and seed production of the plants, including ornamental plants. The study aimed to determine the influence of P and K nutrients on growth and seed production of V. cornuta L. Research was carried out in November 2018 - January 2019 at PT. Selektani Horticulture, Ngablak, Magelang. There were seven treatments with four replications. Experiments were arranged according to the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Plants were grown in 5l volume-polybags. Fertilization was done by watering the planting media. Analysis of variance was performed at 95% accuracy. The study shows that P and K nutrients have a highly significant effect on height, number of flowers, number of seed per capsule, seed production and germination energy and significantly affected the number of leaves. The addition of both P and K fertilizers in the vegetative and P in the generative stage (P6) can result in the productivity of 3.28 g plant-1 and produce germination energy ≥90%. It is recommended for increasing growth and seed production.</p>

The aim of this investigative study was to identify and categorize new bean cultivars regarding their efficiency and responsiveness to nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, both individually and simultaneously, as well as to stipulate the cultivars that would suit each niche market based on this classification. Three experiments were conducted in the field separated by nutrients adopting the randomized block design in a factorial scheme (11 x 4) of 11 cultivars in four doses with three replications. Grain yield was the variable investigated and the means were the basis for the classification separated by in four availabilities: low, partial, adequate dose, and nutritional excess. Genetic variability was observed among the bean cultivars for efficiency and responsiveness (agronomic efficiency) to nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. The following cultivars: BRS Agreste, BRS Estilo, BRS Notável, and Pérola revealed the greatest values of efficiency and responsive ratings for nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, with indications for low and high technological levels. On the contrary, the cultivars BRS Ametista and BRS Sublime based on the efficiency and non-responsive classification showed a low ability to acquire or utilize the nutrients for grain formation. The BRS Pontal cultivar for all three nutrients displayed a high degree of efficiency with a value exceeding the average under different conditions of stress, suggesting that a more rustic cultivar best suits the market niche of small farmers.

Field experiment was undertaken during 2005-06 to 2006-07 to study the various agro-techniques for sugar beet cultivation for Northern Karnataka at Agricultural Research Station, Bailhongal, Belgaum district (Karnataka) under irrigated condition. The experiment consisted of 28 treatment combinations comprising of graded levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Design of the experiment was randamized block design with factorial concept. Application of 180, 90 and 120 kg ha-1 of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, respectively registered significantly higher nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium uptake by sugar beet compared to other levels of nutrient. The same dose of nutrient application also improved gross returns and net returns. Farmers can adopt application of 180, 90 and 120 kg ha-1 of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, respectively for getting higher yield and quality of the crop.

Plants require a balanced nutrition program formulated to provide specific needs for maintenance and for expected production performance. Hence this experiment was conducted to evaluate the optimum level of phosphorus and potassium for growth and productivity of young Kinnow (Citrus reticulata Blanco) plants. The experiment was designed under Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) comprised with seven treatments and replicated thrice. The treatments included, T1= 200 g P2O5 + 200 g K2O, T2= 150 g P2O5 + 200 g K2O, T3= 250 g P2O5 + 200 g K2O, T4= 300 g P2O5 + 200 g K2O, T5= 250 g P2O5 + 150 g K2O, T6= 200 g P2O5 + 250 g K2O and T7= 200 g P2O5 + 300 g K2O. Maximum plant height (3.12 m) and Juice (43.48%) was observed in T5= 250 g P2O5 + 150 g K2O. The highest number of flush (33.08), number of leaves (101.25 m2), length of flush (13.75 cm), Seed weight (1.33 g), Aborted seeds/fruit (8), mature seed fruit (5.48) were noted in T7. Leaf area index and peel thickness were significantly increased in T6= (200 g P2O5 + 250 g K2O) with values 1.91 cm3 and 4.30 mm respectively. So, it is concluded that T5= 250 g P2O5 + 150 g K2O and T7= 200 g P2O5 + 300 g K2O is the best treatments for the growth and better yield of young Kinnow plants.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different concentrations of sodium on the phytoextraction of nutrients and nutritional quality of forages (P. purpureum Schum and C. dactylon Pers) grown in wetland system constructed for wastewater generated in cattle slaughterhouses (WGCS) treatment. The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The treatments were tested using 2 x 5 factorial scheme, as follows: two species of grass (P. purpureum Schum and C. dactylon Pers) and five concentrations of sodium in WGCS: 70, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mg L-1. The phytoextraction potential of nutrients and the nutritional quality of forages grown in pots simulating a wetland system constructed for WGCS with sodium concentrations were assessed in terms of the contents of the nutrients nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium and sodium in leaf tissues. The accumulations of these nutrients in the produced forages were also evaluated. Both species presented different behaviors regarding their nutrient phytoextraction potentials. The nutritional quality was changed in the forages due to the cultivation in constructed wetlands. Forage C. dactylon Pers presented higher phytoextraction potential of sodium and potassium and P. purpureum Schum presented a higher nutritional quality.

Squash seeds yield and quality can be improved by proper population plant spacing and the pollen quantity, which influences the pollination quality and fertilization. Nine experiments were conducted as a factorial combination of three spacing between plants (0.8 x 0.3, 0.8 x 0.6 and 0.8 x 0.9 m), two quantities of pollen (50% of an anther and another entire one) and natural insect pollination. Seed and fruit production parameters, and seed quality were evaluated. A randomized complete block design, five replications, with ten plants per plot was adopted. Larger plant spacing increased the average number of mature fruits and seed yield per plant. Seed yield was directly proportional to the amount of pollen used during pollination. Higher amounts of pollen resulted in higher seed yield per area, but the plant spacing did not affect this characteristic. Manual pollination, using a whole anther, did not differ from natural pollination in relation to seed yield and quality.
