The paper presents a way of describing the vertical dynamic load of the crane supporting structure caused by driving over uneven surfaces with the use of a dimensional analysis and similarity theory model. The applied method allows to conduct an initial, theoretical and qualitative analysis and to designate dimensionless parameters affecting the studied process. The obtained values were compared with the dynamic coefficients calculated on the basis of current standards.

The article highlights the issues related to the study of physical and mechanical characteristics of bulk materials, namely internal friction coefficients in static and dynamic modes. An innovative device of the carousel type for determining the frictional characteristics of bulk materials is described, which allows to implement the tasks of practical determination of dynamic coefficients of internal friction. Presented the program, methodology and results of research on the practical study of the internal friction coefficient of typical bulk products of agricultural production in the range of linear velocities of displacement of layers from 0 to 2.79 m/s, the reliability of which is not lower than 0.878.

The paper presents the results and conclusions of dynamic load tests that were conducted on a highway bridge over the Gimån River in Sweden made of Super Cor corrugated steel plates (CSP), the first bridge of this type in Scandinavia. The critical speed magnitudes, dynamic coefficients, velocity vibration, and vibration frequency are determined in the paper. Conclusions drawn from the tests can be most helpful in the assessment of the behaviour of this type of corrugated plate – soil bridge. In consideration of the application of this type of structure in the case of small-to-medium span bridges, the conclusions from this research cannot yet be generalized to all types of such solutions. The application details with respect to all types of such bridge structures would require additional analysis (field and model tests and calculations) on the other types of soil–steel bridges.

Calanchi are erosion landforms characterised by a heavily dissected terrain with steep, unvegetated slopes and channels with a dendritic pattern, which rapidly incise and extend headwards. Recent literature focusing on badland systems highlights their similarity with other larger fluvial landforms, stating that these behave as a full size laboratory, due to their rapid development in space and time and to the diversity of geomorphic processes involved. In this paper, a brief review of the most important results on badland research is firstly presented. Then, the morphometric similarity between calanchi and other erosion landforms is discussed. Finally, models quantitatively relating the volume of sediments eroded from calanchi landforms and a set of geometric features of their tributary areas, by exploiting the dimensional analysis and the self-similarity theory, are presented.

This article presents the device and the principle of operation of forage grain crushers that use the centrifugal force of inertia to supply the working bodies—which occurs as a result of rotation of the rotor with a vertical axis. The results of some tests of machines working on this principle have been characterized. Attention is drawn to the disadvantages of most research works, namely the lack of premises for creating shredders of this class with a wide range of performance. The aim of this work is to establish the relationship between the design and technological parameters for the operation of a centrifugal-rotary shredder using the theory of similarity and a dimensional analysis. Moreover, the experimental data show an empirical relationship when calculating the efficiency for the shredder model considered above. By applying the similarity criteria, dimensionless complexes were obtained, which allow to determine the significance of the parameters selected at the initial stage for the efficiency of the shredder. The novelty of this research is the application of the theory of similarity and the use of dimensional analysis, which allowed for scaling the results of the experimental data and obtaining a centrifugal-rotary shredder with higher efficiency, while maintaining the quality of the obtained product. This technique indicates the energy costs of the grinding process, which can be used to select the ratio of parameters in the shredder that would ensure that a minimum amount of energy is consumed.

The influence of the moving load on suspended monorail was studied. During the movement of suspended carriages were established inertial forces, which lead to the additional monorail curvature. Found the dependence of the maximum dynamic load of the trucks speed along the monorail. Established speed of truck at which load of the monorail is practically static. The dependence of the bending section of the monorail under the influence of moving dynamic forces and the value of dynamic coefficient for suspended monorail track were found.
