An experimental research was carried out to investigate the seismic performance and shear strength of reactive powder concrete interior beam-column joints subjected to reverse cyclic loads. Four beam-column joint specimens were cast and tested in the investigation. The failure characteristics, deformational properties, ductility, and energy dissipation of reinforced reactive powder concrete interior beam-column joints were analyzed in this paper. The shear strength of joints was calculated according to the GB5001-2010 and ACI 318-14. The results shows that reactive powder concrete beam-column joints have a higher shear-cracking strength and shear carrying capacity and strength degradation and rigidity degradation are not notable. Additionally, the use of RPC for beam-column joints can reduce the congestion of stirrups in joints core. The shear force in the RPC joint is mainly carried by the diagonal strut mechanism; the design expression of ACI 318-14 can be used for calculating the shear strength of RPC joints, which has a safety margin of 22%∼38% in this test.

Reactive powder concrete (RPC) is used in the beam-column joint region in two out of four frames. Finite element modeling of all specimens is developed by using ABAQUS software. Displacement controlled analysis is used rather than load control analysis to obtain the actual response of the structure. The prepared models were verified by using experimental results. The results showed that using RPC in the joint region increased the overall strength of the structure by more than 10%. Moreover, it also helped in controlling the crack width. Furthermore, using RPC in the joint region increased the ductility of the structures. Comparisons were made by varying the size of the mesh and viscosity parameter values. It was found that by increasing the mesh size and viscosity parameter value, analysis time and the number of steps during analysis were reduced. This study provides a new modeling approach using RPC beam-column joint to predict the behavior and response of structures and to improve the shear strength deformation against different structural loading.

SAP2000 structural analysis software is used to designed two of 500kV partially prestressed reactive powder concrete pole cross arm; moreover, poles of the two cross arm program have been compared. The results show that the triangular truss cross arm has good mechanical properties, improving the main mate’rial of the stress state, the pole reduced height 10m, by the analysis of the structure shows, this cross arm has higher reliability under the operating conditions, which can be used in 500kV transmission line; from economic and technical performance, the pole cost of this program is greatly reduced, while speeding up the construction progress and improving the comprehensive benefits of the poles in the transmission line.

In order to get mechanical properties ,some RPC samples with 5% steel fiber are tested, many groups data were obtained such as compressive strength, shear strength and fracture toughness. And a group of tests on RPC with 5% steel-fiber under penetration were also conducted to validate the performance to impact. The penetration tests are carried out by the semi-AP projectiles with the diameter of 57 mm and earth penetrators with the diameter of 80 mm, and velocities of the two kinds of projectiles are 300～600 m/s and 800～900 m/s, respectively. By contrast between the experimental data and the calculation results of C30 reinforced concrete by using experiential formula under penetration, it shows that the resistance of steel-fiber RPC to penetration is 3 times as that of general C30 reinforced concrete.
