The introduction of the book lays out the historical and theoretical stakes of its project. It works to chart the movement from the child-in-need-of rescue (characterized by Henry James’s 1898 novella Turn of the Screw) to the child-as-resource by the way of Kazou Ishiguro’s 2005 Never Let Me Go. As Carolyn Steedman argues in Strange Dislocations, scientific accounts of physiological growth and development were central to the construction of the child as well as to evolutionary thought, a congruence expressed in recapitulation theory. In essence, the link forged between the child and the species helped to shape eugenic historiography, focalized reproduction as a matter of concern for racial nationalism, and made the child a mode of time keeping.

High speed wireless networks and mobile and web-based services are changing the way we, as consumers of information, communicate, learn, do business and receive services. Successful e-commerce models have raised the expectations of citizens to have government agencies and organizations provide public services that are timely and efficient. With the growth and development of Arab cities, especially in the capitals, life becomes a little bit harder for citizens dealing with highly bureaucratic government agencies as their demands for basic services increase. Although e-readiness in the region has grown considerably with impressive progress, Arab cities have been clearly absent from studies on worldwide e-municipal websites. In this study, an evaluation checklist for was used to evaluate official municipal websites of Arab capitals. The study found that these websites were not citizen centered, suffered from fundamental problems, had some features that were inoperable and did not follow basic guidelines for any municipal website. These sites were dominated by aesthetics and technical novelties alone, providing inactive information rather than the inclusion of interactive e-services with immediate feedback and easy to use, navigable interfaces.

Humans have different interpretations of learning theories and different beliefs about how people learn. All these beliefs may come from personal experience, self-reflection, observation of others, and through the experience of trying to teach or persuade someone else to your way of thinking. In a nutshell, everyone keeps learning every waking minute, using different learning theories. In democratic cultures, people may prefer critical thinking as an effective learning theory whereas in authoritarian cultures, people may like rote learning or memorization as an effective learning theory. It is extremely difficult to determine which learning theories are better than others because people are engaged in informal or formal learning to change the way they see themselves, change the way they see other people, and change the way they see situations (Cramer & Wasiak, 2006). All these learning theories are valuable in guiding one’s action in a particular culture, subculture, or even a particular setting. Although scholars have different interpretations of learning theories, the goal of any learning theory is the same. For example, Merriam (2004) explains a learning theory as leading to learners’ growth and development. Mezirow explains the theory of transformative learning as helping learners achieve perspective transformation. Maslow considers the goal of learning to be self-actualization: “the full use of talents, capacities, potentialities, etc.” (p. 150). Some learning theories such as the theory of andragogy encourage learners to be self-directed in learning whereas other theories emphasize the roles of teachers as information transmitters instead of learning facilitators, thus placing learners at the feet of master professors.

The growth and development of cybersecurity jobs and careers have created a need for new skilled faculty that can effectively teach the appropriate content to students at all levels. Often instructors are hired based on their academic credentials and professional experience without the use of assessment and faculty development methods to discover if these instructors can teach effectively or even improve the way they teach. Effective instructors have the ability constructively adjust teaching approaches when students are excelling or struggling based on skillful observation and constant assessment. If a student learns something with great ease, perhaps that approach would be of benefit to others. Part of what helps novices develop expertise here is their explicit attempt to understand how and why something works for students. The implementation and use of microteaching can provide a quality improvement approach to help cybersecurity instructors on all levels improve their ability to teach effectively.

International tourism arrivals by air account for almost 60% of all tourism arrivals. Despite the spectacular increase in air connectivity there are distinct differences between connectivity types, with direct and indirect connectivity, airport connectivity and hub connectivity. Tourism destinations are impacted by the air connectivity type that is available in their nearby or serving airport. The aim of this chapter is to discuss the tourism dynamics resulting from the emerging transformations in air connectivity, and the implications on international air travel. Increased air connectivity is linked to economic growth and development, however direct air connectivity has been driving both tourism and air transport industries. The introduction of new aircraft which can fly longer and more economically is likely to transform direct connectivity and hub connectivity at the same time. Airline business models have evolved over the last 20 years and it is highly likely that this transformation will continue to unfold since the market and the passengers’ needs are constantly evolving. Implications for airlines and destinations will be discussed, outlining the trends which are dominating the industry in terms of connectivity and its relation to tourism destinations.

Background: Sleep is prime priority for baby, because when this moment occurs  repair neuro-brain and more or less 75% of growth hormone are produced. Considering the importance of sleep time for baby development, baby’s sleep needs must be fulfilled in order not to adversely affect growth and development. One of the way to fulfill baby’s sleep needs is baby massage. When baby massaged will increase serotonin secretion that will suppress the activity of the reticulation-activating system and causing sleepy. Purpose this study to knowing the effect of baby massage to the length of sleep of baby ages 3-6 month in Jemawan Village, Jatinom Sub-District, Klaten District. Methods: Quasy eksperiment research with one group pretest-posttest design. Sampling using saturated sampling technique with 32 babies. Bivariate analysis using non parametric statistic Wilcoxon test with an error rate of 5%. Baby massage is performed of baby ages 3-6 month throughout the baby’s body for 30 minutes, baby massage is doing 2 times a week in 4 weeks.Results: This study show results that the length of sleep of baby before doing massage is mostly less than 13 hours as much as 18 babies (56,25%) and the length of sleep of baby after doing massage is normal 13-15 hours as much as 27 babies (84,38%). The result of Wilcoxon test is p = 0,000 (p <0,05) that Ha accepted.Conclusion: There is effect of baby massage to the length of sleep of baby ages 3-6 month in Jemawan Village, Jatinom Sub-District, Klaten District.

By the development of the time, video games technology increasingly popular in the society starting from children to adults. The video games effect can disturb the growth and development of the children. Parents must give more concern and attitude for video games users. This concern and attitude must in the way how parent’s communication pattern. The effective communication can controled video games users. Children with the good communication pattern can give good or bad estimation if the childrens addiction from video games. This is too give the children bad attitude like estimation from parents.Purpose. The purpose of the research is to discribe the parents communication patterns and behavior of children user video games in SMP N 3 Gamping, Sleman. Methods. The method used is discriptive research. The study conducted in marc 2015. The research locatioan in SMP N 3 Gamping Sleman Yogyakarta. the subjects were child early teens video games users as many 49 users. The research used questionnaire about parents comunication pattern and behavior of child video game users. Last the analysis used distribution frequency.Results. The research shows 44,9% of parents using authoritaive communication pattern, 18,4 % parents used permissive communication pattern and 36,7 % parents used authotarian communication pattern. While the behavior of the children’s video game users are good is 81,6 % and 18,4 % are bad.Conclusion. Majority, parents used authoritative communication patterns to chlid of video games users and users have good behavior.
