In the early days of the Internet, philosophers, consumers, engineers, and futurists wondered what Web 1.0, the initial stage of the world wide web, might look like. At the time, there was not even a space called the world wide web, let alone the moniker “Web 1.0.” As the Internet flourished, consumers were spun into its sticky, silky residue. More connections and devices heralded in Web 2.0, including changes in both the form and the content of digital media. Now, with Web 3.0 right around the corner as we head into the thirtieth year of widespread web use, we explore the digital attitude adopted towards digital media in contemporary society. The idea of an attitude suggests the typical way we are feeling about a certain thing at the time. How do users and consumers and human beings in general assess their digital media use and understanding? Lines blur between where contents and forms begin and end. The digital media “content” needs a device and the “device” needs content to engage the consumer/user. Form comes through technological, electronic, digital, and device driven ways. Content proliferates through media through a variety of user generated programming, visuals, sound, apps, games, TV shows, billboards, and software. The combination of these elements provides digital media with its spreadable and participatory nature. This reflection considers the digital attitude as it relates to the human-technology experience approaching the Web 3.0 era. Does the web+digital+media’s ubiquity highlight or in some way name a new or different kind of in-between and taken-for granted attitude? Ideas from of Don Ihde, Alfred Schutz and Thomas Luckman, Marshall McLuhan, and Peter-Paul Verbeek are considered.

With a little direction, it is possible to navigate around the Web and find databases containing information indispensable to both basic and clinical neuroscientists. In the present climate of discouragement that threatens all of us who hold the Humanities dear, one of the worst threats, or so it seems, has been the dumbing down consequent on digital media and the rise of hate speech on digital platforms. I want to offer some countervailing reflections and hopes, and explore the activity and the potential of the World Wide Web as a forum for literature; in spite of the instinctive recoil and bristling horror I feel for social media as currently used, it is possible to consider and reframe the question of reading on the web. Doing so leads to the questions, what is literature and can literature be found beyond the printed book? It is my contention – perhaps my Candide-like hope – that the internet is spurring writers on to creating things with words that are not primarily aimed at silent readers but at an audience that is listening and viewing and feeling, and maybe also reading all at the same time, participating in word events channelled through electronic media.

Since 2004 the term “Web 2.0” has generated a revolution on the World Wide Web and it has developed new ideas, services, application to improve and facilitate communications through the web. Technologies associated with the second-generation of the World Wide Web enable virtually anyone to share their data, documents, observations, and opinions on the Internet. The serious applications of Web 2.0 are sparse and this paper assesses its use in the context of applications, reflections, and collaborative spatial decision-making based on Web generations and in a particular Web 2.0.

The Internet, which is an information super high way, has practically compressed the world into a cyber colony through various networks and other Internets. The development of the Internet and the emergence of the World Wide Web (WWW) as common vehicle for communication and instantaneous access to search engines and databases. Search Engine is designed to facilitate search for information on the WWW. Search Engines are essentially the tools that help in finding required information on the web quickly in an organized manner. The Internet is one of the newest and most powerful media that enables the transmission of digital information and communication across the world, although there is still a digital divide between and within countries for its availability, access, and use. To a certain extent, the level and rate of Web diffusion reflects its nature as a complex structure subject to positive network externalities and to an exponential number of potential interactions among individuals using the Internet. In addition, the Web is a network that evolves dynamically over time, and hence it is important to define its nature, its main characteristics, and its potential.

The ubiquitous nature of the World Wide Web (commonly known as the Web) is dramatically revolutionizing the manner in which organizations and individuals alike acquire and distribute information. Recent reports from the International Data Group indicate that the number of people on the Internet will reach 320 million by the year 2002 (Needle, 1999). The World Wide Web arrived just as connections to the Internet were broadening from academe to the public generally. The Web was designed to support user-performed publishing and access to documents in both textual and graphical forms. That capability was quickly supplemented by means to discover content. The web browser was the ‘killer app’ associated with the explosion of the Internet into the wider world during the mid- 1990s. The technology was developed in 1990 by an Englishman, supported by a Belgian, working in Switzerland, but with the locus soon migrating to Illinois and then to Massachusetts in 1994. Australians were not significant contributors to the original technology, but were among the pioneers in its application. This paper traces the story of the Web in Australia from its beginnings in 1992, up to 1995, identifying key players and what they did, set within the broader context, and reflecting the insights of the theories of innovation and innovation diffusion.

The World Wide Web as the biggest data build has had much progress since its approach. This paper gives a foundation of the development of the web from web 1.0 to web 4.0. Web 1.0 as a snare of data associations, Web 2.0 as a trap of individuals associations, Web 3.0 as a trap of learning associations and web 4.0 as a trap of knowledge associations are portrayed as four ages of the web in the paper. Additionally, in this work, we inquire about the advancement of things to come of the (Web 5.0 and Web 6.0). Likewise, we present the present status and worries about the Web as a data source and correspondence channel.
