This paper aims to achieve the best color face recognition performance. The newly introduced feature selection method takes advantage of novel learning which is used to find the optimal set of color-component features for the purpose of achieving the best face recognition result. The proposed color face recognition method consists of two parts namely color-component feature selection with boosting and color face recognition solution using selected color component features. This method is better than existing color face recognition methods with illumination, pose variation and low resolution face images. This system is based on the selection of the best color component features from various color models using the novel boosting learning framework. These selected color component features are then combined into a single concatenated color feature using weighted feature fusion. The effectiveness of color face recognition method has been successfully evaluated by the public face databases.

This paper presents a novel method for skin segmentation in color images using piece-wise linear bound skin detection. Various color schemes are investigated and evaluated to find the effect of color space transformation over the skin detection performance. The comprehensive knowledge about the various color spaces helps in skin color modeling evaluation. The absence of the luminance component increases performance, which also supports in finding the appropriate color space for skin detection. The single color component produces the better performance than combined color component and reduces computational complexity.

A number of selected cornelian cherry wild genotypes were investigated regarding antioxidant capacity, total phenols, total flavonoids and colour component. The total phenolic, total flavonoids and antioxidant activity of methanol extract of cornelian cherry fruits were determined using Folin-Ciocalteu, colorimetric and DPPH methods, respectively. Total phenolic content ranged from 163.69 (S1) to 359.28 (H2) mg GAE 100 g-1 FW. Genotypes H2 and H3 had the highest total phenolic content (359.28 and 343.50 mg GAE 100 g-1 FW, respectively), total flavonoids (54.26 and 64.48 mg QE 100 g-1 FW, respectively) and antioxidant capacity (2.39 and 2.71 mmolTrolox100g-1 FW, respectively). Significant differences of yellow/blue color component (b*), red/ green (a*) color component, values of lightness (L*) and chroma (C) were obtained for extracts from fruits. The present study shows the potential of certain cornelian cherry genotypes as valuable source of natural antioxidants and gene stock for breeding programs.

This letter presents a new color image encryption scheme based on the coupled chaos maps. First, the algorithm uses the coupled logistic map to generate random strong key stream, and then designed a kind of initial simple diffusion-joint scrambling-combined diffusion method from the point of the relationships of components R, G, B. The simulation results indicate that this algorithm has stronger security compared with the independent encryption of each color component.
