Abstract: This research relates to the implementation of Problem Solving model in Banyu Landas Elementary School. The research objective is to increase students’ Higher Order Thingking Skills (HOTS). The research was conducted by using classroom action research (CAR) method through 2 cycles. Ten six class students of SDN Banyu Landas were used as research subject. The data collection used obeservation sheets and HOT oriented achievement test. The data were qualitatively analyzed with percentage technique. The result of research stated that (1) students’ Higher Order Thingking Skills (HOTS) increased from analysis skills 77,85% in the first cycle up to  synthesys skills 86,58% in the end of second cycle (2) the quality of teacher’s activity increased  from 58,41% in the first cycle  up to 71,14% in the end of second cycle; (2) students’ activity incresed  from 68,39% in the first cycle  up to 70,10% in the end of second cycle.              Keywords: Higher Order Thinking Skills, teacher activity, student activity , Problem Solving. Abstrak: Penelitian ini berkenaan dengan penerapan model Problem Solving di SDN Banyu Landas. The scarcity of readily usable instruments to research learning in Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) environments has posed a great challenge to devise appropriate analytical tools to investigate how individuals change their understanding or create a new personal construction of knowledge as a result of social interaction and negotiation within the group. Given this scenario, the Activity System Model (Engestrom, 1987), based on a socio-cultural perspective, was adopted as a framework for analysing the quality of a CSCL community in this research project. Data were analysed to examine how interactivity had contributed to the fostering of higher order thinking skills in the CSCL community. Findings of this study confirmed that there was a positive correlation between the quality of collaborative process engaged by groups and the quality of cognitive skills fostered. High levels of social interaction and collaboration contributed to the establishment of a community of learning, nurturing a space for fostering higher order thinking through co-creation of knowledge processes. Lessons learnt and limitations of the investigation in this study in light of the methodological issues relating to coding reliability and difficulties in translating Chinese text involved in the CSCL for computerized coding process were discussed as well.

The quality of teachers as educators is an important factor, one of which is the quality in making HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) questions which are the responsibility of the principal as the holder of the highest authority in the school, so the aim of this study is to improve the ability of teachers to make HOTS questions. (Higher Order Thinking Skills) through the teacher working group (KKG) which is the subject of this study 26 people using school action research methods that carry out cyclical research steps. The results showed an increase in teacher activity in the first cycle, the average percentage of teacher activity was 73% with a good category, and the average percentage of teacher activity in the second cycle was 91% with a very good category. The teacher's ability in making HOTS questions in the first cycle the average score was 80.76 in the good category, while the teacher's ability in making HOTS questions in the second cycle the average score was 96.92 with the very good category. So it was concluded that carrying out KKG activities was effective in increasing the ability of teachers to make HOTS questions.

One of the teachers’ responsibilities in the teaching and learning process is to conduct assessments. The main purpose of assessment is to understand students’ learning outcomes. Based on the outcomes, teachers can give feedback to improve the planning and the implementation of the teaching process and to determine the quality of the assessment instrument. The Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based assessment is urgently needed in schools to produce competitive graduates who have the critical thinking, communicative, collaborative, and creative skills. However, there are some challenges in the implementation of HOTS-based assessment, such as students’ low motivation and Arabic competence, ambiguous definitions of basic competencies in the curriculum, and lack of HOTS materials in textbooks. These challenges can be solved by making an acquisition-based learning of Arabic, reconstructing the descriptions of basic competence, and adapting HOTS-based assessment which is in line with the students’ ability. Keywords: challenges, HOTS, Arabic teaching, solutions

There were still many teachers who had difficulty making student learning assessment instruments. The orientation of the learning carried out was still at the level of low-level thinking (remembering, memorizing, and understanding) so that students had low knowledge. This study aimed to develop an instrument for assessing science learning outcomes on Theme 8 based on Higher Order Thinking Skills. This type of research was development research. The model used in this study was 4D which is divided into four stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The techniques used in collecting data were observation, interviews, document recording, rating scales, and tests. The instrument used in collecting data was a questionnaire. The results of the study will be analyzed for validity, reliability, discriminating power, and level of difficulty, quality of distractors, practitioner responses, and student responses. Instruments designed to collect data were tested first to find out the instrument's validity. The results of the research were the analysis of the content validity test and the items were in very high criteria. Based on the results of the reliability test, the instrument being tested had a very high consistency. In the analysis of the quality of the distractor, the instrument functions well. In the analysis of practitioners' responses and student responses, the category was very good. It can be concluded that the instrument that assesses the science learning outcomes of theme 8 based on Higher Order Thinking Skills was valid and feasible to be used as an assessment instrument for students.

The success of students is inseparable from the role of the teacher in improving their competence by forming Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP). The quality of social studies learning needs to be measured by assessments oriented to Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Social studies combines the concepts of geography, sociology, economics, and history with the application of developing nationalism, strengthening national attitudes, and being able to work together in a plural society as citizens, citizens and world citizens. MGMP of Social Studies is expected to have the ability and skills to make questions and learning assessments oriented to Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to improve the quality of assessment and is expected to improve the quality of graduate students.

(This study has been conducted with the purpose of improving the level of HOTS (Higher order thinking skills) of Form 2 students through learning Thirukkural. For this study, the Thirukkural, a well-known literary work of Tamil Language was taken. Thus, this research was carried out in a secondary school which is located at Taiping, Perak. The research was carried out under the design of action research. The sample of this study consisted of ten Form 2 students. Besides that, a teacher also interviewed in order to know the students' personality in learning Thirukkural. In this research, the learning process of Thirukkural approach was implemented for 6 weeks. There are 6 couplets of Thirukkural selected according to the syllabus of Form 1 and Form 2. This six couplets of Thirukkural used to test the level of HOTS. The questions were created based on Thirukkural, according to Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. The data of the study was collected through pre-test, the questions asked in Thirukkural classes and post-test via qualitative and quantitative data collection tools. The findings obtained through qualitative and quantitative data collections showed that the level of HOTS through learning Thirukkural among Form 2 students has improved.)
