La satisfacción es un factor que contribuye a aumentar la participación en las actividades deportivas, principalmente porque está vinculada a procedimientos conductuales responsables de generar sentimientos positivos en las personas involucradas. El objetivo de este estudio fue confirmar el "Cuestionario de Satisfacción de La Clase de Educación Física" en un contexto educativo de danza griega. También se examinó la coherencia interna del cuestionario. La muestra del estudio consistió en 482 participantes, 184 de los cuales eran hombres y 298 eran mujeres. Todos los participantes asistieron a cursos de danza tradicional griega en diferentes asociaciones de danza en Grecia. La escala consta de 45 preguntas que constituyen nueve factores. Se realizaron los siguientes análisis estadísticos: La validez y fiabilidad del cuestionario se examinaron mediante un análisis de factores exploratorios y un análisis de factores confirmatorios. Se llevó a cabo un análisis de fiabilidad para examinar la cohesión interna de los factores. Se calcularon estadísticas descriptivas para examinar ampliamente el grado de satisfacción. El análisis de los resultados llegó a la siguiente conclusión: a) La versión griega del cuestionario mostró propiedades psicométricas estacionarias estables, que apoyan parcialmente su uso en el contexto de la danza griega. b) Las correlaciones entre las subescalas indicaban un modelo de factor relacionado que soporta la validez de la construcción de escalas. Satisfaction is a contributing factor to increasing participation in sports activities, especially due to the fact that it is linked to behavioral procedures responsible for causing positive feelings to people involved. The aim of this study was to confirm the “Physical Activity Class Satisfaction Questionnaire” in a Greek educational dancing context. The internal consistency of the questionnaire has also been examined. The sample of the study consisted of 482 participants, 184 males, and 298 females. All participants have attended Greek traditional dance courses in dancing associations among Greece. The scale consists of 45 questions which constitute nine factors. The following statistical analyses were carried out: Questionnaire’s validity and reliability were examined via exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Reliability analysis was conducted to examine the internal cohesion of the factors. Descriptive statistics have been calculated to broadly examine the degree of satisfaction. Results’ analysis arrived at the following conclusion: a. The Greek version of the questionnaire has shown stable stationary psychometric properties, which partially support its use in the Greek dancing context. b. Correlations among subscales indicated a related factor model supporting the construct validity of the scale. A satisfação é um fator que contribui para aumentar a participação nas atividades desportivas, principalmentepor estar ligada a procedimentos comportamentais responsáveis por gerarem sentimentos positivos nas pessoas envolvidas. O objetivo deste estudo foi confirmar o “Questionário de Satisfação da Aula de Educação Física” num contexto educacional grego de dança. A consistência interna do questionário também foi examinada. A amostra do estudo foi composta por 482 participantes, sendo que 184 eram homens e 298 eram mulheres. Todos os participantes frequentaram cursos de dança tradicional grega em diferentes associações de dança na Grécia. A escala é composta por 45 questões que constituem nove fatores. Foram realizadas as seguintes análises estatísticas: A validade e confiabilidade do questionário foram examinadas através de uma análise de fatores exploratória e uma análise de fatores confirmatória. A análise de confiabilidade foi conduzida para examinar a coesão interna dos fatores. Foram calculadas estatísticas descritivas para examinaramplamente o grau de satisfação. A análise dos resultados chegou à seguinte conclusão: a) A versão grega do questionário mostrou propriedades psicométricas estacionárias estáveis, que suportam parcialmente o seu uso no contexto da dança grega. b) As correlações entre as subescalas indicaram um modelo de fator relacionado que suporta a validade de construção da escala.

Abstract. The Therapist Adherence Measure (TAM-R) is a central assessment within the quality-assurance system of Multisystemic Therapy (MST). Studies into the validity and reliability of the TAM in the US have found varying numbers of latent factors. The current study aimed to reexamine its factor structure using two independent samples of families participating in MST in the Netherlands. The factor structure was explored using an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) in Sample 1 ( N = 580). This resulted in a two-factor solution. The factors were labeled “therapist adherence” and “client–therapist alliance.” Four cross-loading items were dropped. Reliability of the resulting factors was good. This two-factor model showed good model fit in a subsequent Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) in Sample 2 ( N = 723). The current finding of an alliance component corroborates previous studies and fits with the focus of the MST treatment model on creating engagement.

Inadequate health literacy decreases physical activity. This study aimed to develop and examine psychometrics of physical activity health literacy in Iranian older adults. This methodological work was conducted in two phases. Phase 1 consisted of extensive studies review and qualitative study to extract and design the items. The psychometrics were measured in Phase 2 included content, faceconstruct validities, reliability, and stability. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS (version 25.0) and AMOS (version 24.0). The results of the exploratory factor analysis showed four factors— information evaluation, reading skill, perception, and decision making—and used information that explained 70.08% of the variance. The model’s fitness was supported by confirmatory factor analysis. Internal consistency based on Cronbach’s alpha was .89 with composite reliability >0.85. Stability was confirmed through the test–retest method and intraclass correlation coefficient (.89–1). Psychometrics of physical activity health literacy in Iranian older adults supported validity and reliability of the tool.

The aim of the study was to provide evidence for the validity and reliability of the Physical Activity Affect Scale (PAAS; Lox, Jackson, Tuholski, Wasley, & Treasure, 2000) as a measure of exercise induced affect for adults with brain injuries. The PAAS is a 12-item measure of feeling states based on Russell’s (1980) conceptualization of affect. A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on data from 193 participants with brain injuries who completed the PAAS following a single bout of exercise. Results identified four dimensions of affect (positive affect, negative affect, tranquility, and fatigue). Findings provide evidence for the validity and reliability of the PAAS as a measure of exercise induced affect for adults with brain injuries.

Abstract Background Old age is associated with reduced physical ability. It is necessary to measure and evaluate the physical activity of older people. Implementing appropriate requires a valid and reliable tool. Physical Activity Scale for the Elderly (PASE) is the frequently used self-reported physical activity assessment for older adults. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the translation validity and reliability of the Persian version of the Physical Activity Scale for the Elderly. Methods This study is a methodological, descriptive applied research was conducted on 300 older people. The translation process of the English version of PASE into Persian was carried out according to the process of translation and adaptation of scale recommended by the World Health Organization. The reliability of the scale was examined by calculating the Cronbach’s alpha, Pearson, and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). The reliability and validity of the scale were evaluated by following the “Consensus-Based Standards for the Selection of Health Status Measurement Instruments” (COSMIN) checklist. To assess the face and content validity, impact score (IS), the content validity ratio (CVR), and the content validity index (CVI) were determined. A confirmatory factor analysis was also performed. Results The experts approved the quality of the Persian version of PASE. The reliability was calculated with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.94, an ICC of 0.99, and a test-retest correlation coefficient of 0.94. The qualitative and quantitative face validity of all questions by expert judgment and IS of greater than 1.5 was considered. Also, CVR and CVI scores of all questions were higher than 0.6 and 0.79, respectively. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed a good fit for the original three-factor structure. Conclusions The Persian or Farsi version of PASE was shown to have acceptable validity and reliability. This tool is suitable for measuring the physical activity level in the Persian elderly language special in clinical environments and therapeutic interventions.

The study aims to develop a valid and reliable academic optimism scale that can be used to determine teachers’ academic optimism levels. The study was conducted through a total number of 404 primary school teachers who worked in the central districts of Malatya Province during 2014-2015 academic year. The content validity and face validity of the scale were determined via expert recommendations. An explanatory factor analysis and a confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to determine the construct validity of the scale. After the expert opinions, 80 items reduced to 64 and the data was collected by the use of these 64 items. An exploratory factor analysis revealed 5 factors reducing 64 items in to 33 and explaining 58.56% of the total variation in the data. The five-factor model obtained through an explanatory factor analysis after removal of one item as a result of the confirmatory factor analysis was observed to be highly consistent. Different from previous related research, the result showed that a new dimension as “Maneger Trust” emerged as a part of “Teacher Academic Optimism Scale”. And finally this scale could be used as a valid and reliable instrument in the future studies.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Moral Competence Scale for Home Care Nurses (MCSHCN). Methods: A self-administered questionnaire that included the preliminary MCSHCN (90 items) was distributed to home care nurses (HCNs) in Japan. Usable data (from 1,961 questionnaires) were analyzed. Results: Item and exploratory factor analysis for the MCSHCN revealed 45 items that loaded on 5 factors. This 5-factor model showed reasonable fit to the data by confirmatory factor analysis (root mean square error of approximation [RMSEA] = 0.070). Thus, the model closely corresponded to the theoretical components of moral competence. Cronbach’s alpha ranged from .78 to .93. Conclusions: The construct validity and internal consistency reliability were supported. Further research is needed to refine this scale to increase the generalizability.

The aim of this study was to translate and adapt the physical activity and leisure motivation scale (PALMS) into Spanish, and to analyse its validity and reliability. The sample comprised 867 adolescents, with a mean age of 14.04 ± 1.19 years, 53.9% of whom were male. During the translation process, some of the items in the instrument were modified slightly, improving its comprehensibility. On the other hand, the exploratory factor analysis did not present an adequate factor structure, so a more in-depth analysis was carried out, using item response theory and confirmatory factor analysis; the conclusion was that it would be appropriate to eliminate several items from the scale. From this, a final shortened version, consisting of 25 items, was produced, with adequate fit indices—CFI = 0.933, TLI = 0.918, SRMR = 0.042, RMSEA = 0.052 (90% CI 0.048; 0.056)—and good reliability for each of the dimensions, ranging from 0.625 to 0.835. It can be concluded that the abbreviated version of the PALMS instrument, adapted for Spanish adolescents (PALMS-e), is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing their motives for doing physical activity.

Abstract Background There is a lack of properly validated instruments measuring motivation for physical activity in the Finnish language. The study aimed to translate the Motivation for Physical Activity (RM4-FM) instrument into Finnish and examine its psychometric properties in a sample of healthy, older Finnish adults. Methods The RM4-FM was translated and linguistically validated adhering to published guidelines. The sample consisted of 102 65–75-year old participants, who completed the RM4-FM, the Physical Activity Acceptance Questionnaire (PAAQ) and sociodemographic characteristics questionnaires electronically. The RM4-FM was re-administered one month after the initial assessment. Results RM4-FM translated well into Finnish. The motivation dimension scores were skewed towards high internal and low external motivation. A floor effect was confirmed in the External regulation dimension and a ceiling effect was confirmed in the Identified regulation dimension. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated inadequacy of the four-dimension model. Separate assessment of each of the four motivation dimensions with Exploratory factor analysis showed unidimensionality for all dimensions. Exploratory factor analysis provided a best-fit model of three factors (influence of other people, intention of well-being and emotional aspect of motivation). Re-administration of the instruments showed good test-retest reliability in all motivation dimensions. Female gender, higher education and higher PAAQ score were associated to higher internal motivation and lower external motivation scores. Conclusions The Finnish version of the RM4-FM instrument provides valid and reliable scores in assessing motivation for physical activity in a sample of healthy, older Finnish adults. The score distributions suggested shortages in the scale when evaluating internally motivated subjects. The three-factor model of the RM4-FM provided more favorable structural validity compared to the original version. This work may aid in future translations into other languages and uses of the questionnaire.

The purpose of this research is to develop the Counselor Attitude Scale for Spirituality in Counseling. The study group consists of 386 (253 female, 133 male) counselors. The methods of exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses are used to determine the construct validity of the scale. A single-factor structure consisting of seven items has been obtained as a result of the exploratory factor analysis. The compatibility the one-dimensional model has with the data is tested using confirmatory factor analysis. The single-factor model has been determined to have good fit indexes as a result of the analysis (RMSEA = .04, RMR = .03, GFI = .98, AGFI = .95, CFI = .99, IFI = .99, NFI = .98). Cronbach’s alpha coefficient has been calculated as .89 for the reliability analysis of the scale and the test-retest coefficient as .88; the 27% lower-upper group t values are found to be significant (p<.001). The findings show the developed scale to be psychometrically valid and reliable, and useful for assessing counselors’ attitudes towards spirituality in counseling interactions.
