A business should be able to achieve competitive advantage due to technology development in industry 4.0. The digital industry could be relied on to sustain economic growth and encourage equity for small business enterprise to reach more markets and profit, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, while at the same time to accomplish competitive advantage by having strong infrastructure, creating and sharing knowledge, and formulating strategic decision making, and innovation. The research aimed to provide view about the knowledge management strategies that specifically testing both codification and personalization, and their consequences on innovation and performance in small business enterprise. Data were collected from 46 small business enterprises in Indonesia through online questionnaires, and were analysed using structural equation modelling. The results reveal that knowledge management strategies—codification and personalization—have impacts on innovation and performances directly and indirectly through the increase on innovation capability. It is considered that the research will help small business enterprises to establish a good knowledge management strategy to obtain better profit on a specific condition and environment.

Small business enterprise have a significant contribution for Gross Domestic Product (GDP), however small business enterprise have a lack of manajerial skill, limited funds and marketing. Biji Merah Coffee and Roastery is a small business enteprise at Kota Kotamobagu, Bolaang Mongondow, coffee house that provide  coffee, chocholate dan green tea. This coffee house has not implement short profit planning for operating activity.  The aims of this research is to increase financial management of small business enterprise coffee house, particularly to estimate future revenues, costs and profit with Cost Volume Profit (CVP) analysis.  to plan future levels of operating activity. The global commercial landscape is moving dynamically and continues to loom in the rigour environment, forewarning the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) to get their act together before the next wave of the rough economic landscape hits their bottom line. SMEs discover that they need to reposition themselves, and consistent with this, many SMEs embark on outsourcing as one of their business strategies to manoeuvre their companies so that they could survive and sustain during the tough time. Therefore, this chapter studies the prevalence of outsourcing among entrepreneurs in SMEs in Malaysia. Outsourcing is a convoluted process and can bring new development opportunity for the SMEs to quest for their competitiveness. A sample of ten SME entrepreneurs from Malaysia participated in this study. A series of interviews were conducted among these entrepreneurs to probe their behaviours and outlook on outsourcing. The results showed that SME entrepreneurs highlighted the importance and impact of outsourcing in managing and running their business enterprise. Some entrepreneurs perceived outsourcing as a key trend shaping the future of their activities in terms of reducing costs and increasing efficiency, flexibility, and performance. In sum, this study generates agenda for researchers to reach more conclusive evidence about the practice of outsourcing among SMEs.
