The article provides a review of a book by S. D. Bodrunov “Noonomics: the Trajectory of Global Transformation”, which is constructed in the form of a summary of the main ideas developed in the theory of noonomics – a noneconomic method of economic activity focused on meeting specific human needs based on the criteria of reasonableness determined by the development of knowledge and culture. The article presents the position of the author of the book, who singled out eight steps towards the development of the human community to noonomics through the new industrial society of the second generation (NIS.2). It is shown that the theory of noonomics developed by the author of the book offers a scientific basis for resolving the contradictions of modern human civilization. It is emphasized that technological transformations are determinable to shape the future of human civilization. Critical reviews of the proposed concept are considered.

Summary Tests of the first experimental VTOL aircraft using tiltable wings and propellers indicated that practical operational aircraft are possible and can operate with a high degree of effectiveness. The flight tests accomplished up to the present time with the second generation tilt-propeller and tilt-rotor aircraft are discussed and analysed. The XC-142 and the CL-84 tilt-wing aircraft have been performing well throughout their projected flight envelope and good pilot ratings have been obtained with each in hover, transition, and the normal cruise mode. The X-19 tandem wing tilt propeller was flown only up to 100 knots and was lost due to a structural failure in one nacelle. Although the operation of the aircraft had been satisfactory up to this point, this programme was terminated due to shortage of funds. A study of the various VTOL aircraft configurations operating at low radius of action indicates that the tilt wing/ tilt propeller type are the most cost-effective as long as speed is an important parameter in the operating mission. There are missions where speed is of secondary importance, and therefore, the helicopter will continue to be one of the most effective VTOL for these missions. Since the tilt-wing /tilt-rotor aircraft tend to be only slightly higher in cost than the helicopter and with development the complexity and maintainability will be reduced to acceptable levels, it is anticipated that further work will be done in the development of these vehicles, and successful and useful machines will be built in the future.

Background. The Woman’s Condom, a second-generation female condom designed for acceptability, is poised for introduction in China. Method. This single-arm study was conducted among 60 couples in China in 2010 to assess acceptability of the Woman’s Condom. Results. Male participants reported that ease of handling, inserting, and removing the device improved significantly from first to fourth use. Female and male participants reported that comfort during insertion, feel of lubricant during insertion, comfort/fit of outer ring during use, and overall comfort improved significantly from first to fourth use. Further, at fourth use, female participants reported significant improvement in the comfort of the feel of the condom material and lubricant. Female and male participants reported that satisfaction with stability and sensation during sex and ability to achieve orgasm improved significantly from first to fourth use. At fourth use, female participants reported statistically significant improvement in sensation compared to using nothing. A majority of participants (78%) stated that they would use the Woman’s Condom in the future, primarily due to its dual protection profile. Conclusion. This study has shown that, in China, the Woman’s Condom appears to be acceptable to married couples. User experience contributes to improvement in many aspects of device acceptability.

This paper is dedicated to the second generation of so-called cultural strategists, whose contribution to the development of strategic culture and the study of strategy as a form of discourse is unjustly neglected, especially when it comes to the most prominent representative of the entire generation, Bradley Klein. According to the author of this paper, Klein's NEO-Gramscian approach to strategic studies remains the underused scientific potential, which could, in the future, contribute to a better understanding of international relations and international security. Therefore, the author aims to acquaint the reader with Klein's critical interpretation of strategic culture, seen as a discursive instrument of the hegemony of political and military elites, and to point out the importance of Klein's analysis of strategic discourse, which is intentionally marginalized by other theorists of this subdiscipline.

The current state and the future of the biofuels for transport sectors in Poland were presented in the paper. Because of the importance of legal conditions, crucial directives and acts affecting the shape of these sectors were discussed. The scoring multicriteria M.E. Porter method was used to research attractiveness of the national biofuel sectors, i.e. the sectors of biodiesel and bioethanol produced from edible material (so-called first generation biofuels) as well as the sector of bioethanol produced from inedible material, mainly from lignocellulose (so-called second generation biofuel). Various factors of macro- and microenvironment of first generation biofuels caused regular reduction of their attractiveness. However, the sector of second generation bioethanol, which is not produced at industrial scale in Poland now, is characterized by relatively high and growing attractiveness.

Working at the intersection of political science, ethnographic sociology, and contemporary historiography, Sarah Gensburger specializes in the social dynamics of memory. In this interview, she talks about her book Memory on My Doorstep: Chronicles of the Bataclan Neighborhood, Paris 2015–2016, which traces the evolving memorialization processes following the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris, their impact on the local landscape, and the social appropriations of the past by visitors at memorials and commemorative sites. She also discusses her new project Vitrines en confinement—Vetrine in quarantena (“Windows in Lockdown”), which documents public responses to the coronavirus pandemic from different sites across Europe through the creation of a photographic archive of public space. The interview highlights issues around the immediacy of contemporary memorialization practices, the ways in which people engage with their local space during times of crisis, and how we are all actively involved in preserving memory for the future.

Palavras-chave: Epistemologias do Sul. Sport and sporting gesture, as phenomena that result from the contexts in which they are produced, are necessarily in this ambiguity. Starting from the Epistemologies of the South, as a proposal to rescue epistemic and human dimensions absent from the hegemonic space, and presented as alternatives to the exhaustion of modernity, a critical analysis of the social dynamics of sport is proposed through the operationalization of the concepts of sociology of absences and sociology of emergencies, suggesting the emergence of another sport that meets the perspective of human motricity, assuming the complexity and transcendence of the sporting gesture. Keywords: Epistemologies of the South.
