Procrastination is a deleterious and increasingly pervasive phenomenon within the higher-academic domain, and the progressive refinement of its measurement tools proves vital to shed light and undertake this behavior. Thus, the present study examines renewed psychometric quality features of the Tuckman Procrastination Scale within an Argentinian sample. The sample was composed of 923 undergraduates from Buenos Aires City and its environs (80.7% female; 18.7% male; 0.5% non-binary; Mage = 26.60; SDage = 8.25). The Cordoban-Argentinian adaptation of the Tuckman Procrastination Scale was employed. Content validity analysis of the scale’s items was carried out upon consideration of expert judgments. Face validity of the instrument was analyzed via a pilot study with a subsample of undergraduates. Subsequently, a confirmatory factor analysis of the Tuckman Procrastination Scale structure was conducted, and the internal consistency of the resulting factor was examined. Finally, correlations with the Academic Motivation Scale were analyzed to provide evidence of convergent validity. Results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis supported an adequate fit of the Tuckman Procrastination Scale’s structure in its Cordoban-version 15 items, while internal consistency was acceptable-to-excellent. Finally, convergent validity evidence mostly exhibited positive associations between Procrastination and both Amotivation and less self-determined motivational subscales of the Academic Motivation Scale, while negative associations were observed with regards to Intrinsic Motivation subscales.

Abstract Job satisfaction has been an important topic of focus in the organizational setting for the last few decades. This research aims to validate job satisfaction scale in medical practitioner population. The 10 items in this scale consist of 4 extrinsic facet items and 5 intrinsic facet items. This intrument was adapted into Bahasa Indonesia as suggested by Beaton, et al. (2000) and analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis. The study conducted among 287 participants working in the medical field. The study showed that the reliability of intrinsic facet is .811 and extrinsic facet .729. Further analysis found that there is correlation between intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction. This study concluded that the job satisfaction scale used in this study is valid and reliable to be applied in medical practitioner in Indonesia. Abstrak Alat ukur kepuasan kerja telah digunakan di berbagai bidang pekerjaan termasuk kesehatan. Sayangnya di Indonesia penelitian mengenai alat ukur ini sendiri masih sangat terbatas, terutama mengenai konstruk kepuasan kerja dengan subjek khusus tenaga kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengadaptasi skala kepuasan kerja untuk tenaga kesehatan dari Hills, Joyce dan Humphreys (2012) ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Proses penerjemahan berdasarkan langkah-langkah yang disarankan oleh Beaton, dkk. (2000). Alat ukur kepuasan kerja yang digunakan terbagi menjadi dua berdasarkan sumbernya, yaitu ekstrinsik dan intrinsik, dengan total 10 aitem. Peserta yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 287 responden. Berdasarkan hasil uji reliabilitas didapatkan koefisien alfa sebesar .811 untuk kepuasan kerja yang bersifat intrinsik dan .729 untuk kepuasan kerja yang bersifat ekstrinsik. Berdasarkan hasil uji validitas dengan teknik faktor analisis dan uji reliabilitas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa alat ukur ini cukup valid dan reliabel untuk diterapkan di Indonesia. Berdasarkan analisis tambahan yang dilakukan, ditemukan hubungan antara sumber kepuasan kerja yang bersifat intrinsik dan ekstrinsik

Experience has different impacts for each individual. Individuals have several choices in the emotions one feels by regulating emotions. Emotion and emotional regulation take shape in a social context. This makes researchers interested in seeing messages, emotions in a social context. This formation is by looking at the results of the test results of the construct validity of the Indonesian version of the Interpersonal Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (IERQ) measuring instrument which has the same construct as the IERQ measuring instrument from Hofmann, Carpenter and Curtis (2016). It is hoped that this can contribute to measuring emotions that come from the social context in Indonesian. This research was conducted in May 2020 on 202 participants with adolescents aged 12-21 years. The factor analysis method used in this study is Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using the Lisrel program. The results of data analysis show that the construct validity of the IERQ measuring instrument which has been entered into Indonesian shows a positive and significant loading factor. This shows the Indonesian version of the IERQ construct with the same construct as the IERQ measuring instrument from Hofmann, Carpenter and Curtis. The results showed that the Indonesian version of the IERQ measuring instrument can be used by researchers to measure emotional regulation in adolescents in Indonesia. The next research can look in more detail and in-depth about the causes of people to do emotional regulation, and can try out the Indonesian version of the IERQ measurement tool on different participants. Pengalaman emosional merupakan suatu pengalaman yang pasti akan dialami oleh semua individu. Pengalaman emosional memberikan dampak yang berbeda-beda untuk setiap individunya. Individu memiliki beberapa pilihan dalam memodifikasi emosi yang dirasakan salah satunya dengan meregulasi emosi. Emosi dan regulasi emosi terbentuk dalam konteks sosial. Hal tersebut membuat peneliti tertarik untuk mengetahui pembentukan regulasi emosi dalam konteks sosial. Pembentukan tersebut dengan melihat hasil uji validitas konstruk alat ukur Interpersonal Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (IERQ) versi Indonesia memiliki konstruk yang sama dengan alat ukur IERQ dari Hofmann, Carpenter dan Curtis (2016). Hal tersebut diharapkan dapat memberikan sumbangan alat ukur regulasi emosi yang berasal dari konteks sosial dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2020 terhadap 202 partisipan dengan karakteristik remaja berusia 12-21 tahun. Metode analisis faktor yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) dengan menggunakan program Lisrel. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan validitas konstruk pada alat ukur IERQ yang sudah diterjemahkan kedalam Bahasa Indonesia menunjukan loading factor positif dan signifikan. Hal ini menunjukkan konstruk IERQ versi Bahasa Indonesia memiliki konstruk yang sama dengan alat ukur IERQ dari Hofmann, Carpenter dan Curtis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa alat ukur IERQ versi Bahasa Indonesia dapat dipergunakan oleh para peneliti untuk mengukur regulasi emosi pada remaja di Indonesia. Penelitian berikutnya dapat mengamati lebih mendetail dan mendalam mengenai penyebab orang-orang melakukan regulasi emosi, serta dapat mengujicobakan alat ukur IERQ versi Indonesia pada partisipan yang berbeda.

The aim of the present study was to examine preliminarily the validity of a Greek version of the 1995 Sport Motivation Scale of Pelletier, Fortier, Vallerand, Tuson, Briere, and Blais. For 134 athletes the seven subscales had moderate to good internal consistency (Cronbach coefficients α from .64 to .78). Confirmatory factor analysis with nested factor models supported the structural validity of the inventory. Moreover, correlations of scores on the subscales with a measure of task and ego orientation as well as with athletes' self-reported effort in training were in the expected direction.

  Background and Objective: The Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) is a seven-item uni-dimensional scale assessing the severity of COVID-19 concerns. A translation and validation of the FCV-19S in Bahasa Indonesia language was expedited in view of the worrying trends of COVID-19 in Indonesia as well as its psychological squeal. Methods: Formal WHO forward and backward translation sequences were applied in translating the English FCV-19S into Bahasa Indonesia. Indonesian university participants were recruited via convenience sampling online using snowball methods. The reliability and validity of the Indonesian FCV-19S was psychometrically evaluated by applying confirmatory factor analysis and Rasch analysis in relation to sociodemographic variables and response to the depression, anxiety, and stress components of the Indonesian version of DASS-21. The sample consisted of 434 Indonesian participants. Results: The Cronbach α value for the Indonesia FCV-19-I was 0.819 indicated very good internal reliability. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the uni-dimensional factor structure of the FCV19S fitted well with the data. The FCV-19-I was significantly correlated with anxiety (r= 0.705, p< 0.001) subscales of DASS-21. The FCV-19-I’s properties tested using Rasch analysis were also satisfactory, although three items in FCV-19-I were not able to be tested. Conclusion: Hence, the Indonesian FCV-19-I is valid and reliable, with robust psychometric properties from classical and modern psychometric methods. It can be a valuable and useful tool in identifying and responding to psychological distress caused by COVID-19.

The Gambling Motivation Scale (GMS), a scale based on self-determination theory, consists of seven motivations: to learn the game, to feel competent, to experience excitement, to socialize, to feel important, to win money, and to continue gambling aimlessly (Chantal, Vallerand, & Vallieres, 1994). The GMS has never been tested with confirmatory factor analysis to determine the appropriate structure of gambling motivation. In the present study, we developed the Modified Gambling Motivation Scale (MGMS) to improve the reading comprehension and psychometrics of the GMS. We also proposed a simpler interpretation of motivation scores than that applied to the previous scoring system. Confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modelling, and measurement invariance were performed on the GMS and the MGMS, which suggested that six motivations were distinct and important to gambling behaviour: to experience an intellectual challenge (combined motivations to learn and to feel competent), to experience excitement, to socialize, to feel important, to win money, and to continue gambling aimlessly. This six-factor structure of gambling motivation aligns more closely with self-determination theory and removes problems with estimations in the seven-factor structure. The results showed that gamblers who were motivated to experience excitement and to socialize had more problem gambling than did other gamblers.RésuméL’Échelle de motivation envers les jeux de hasard et d’argent, fondée sur la théorie de l’autodétermination, est constituée de sept motivations : apprendre le jeu, se sentir compétent, vivre une expérience excitante, socialiser, se sentir important, gagner de l’argent et continuer à jouer pour le simple plaisir (Chantal, Vallerand, et Vallières, 1994). La structure de l’échelle n’a jamais été soumise à des tests avec analyse factorielle confirmatoire pour déterminer la structure appropriée de la motivation du jeu. Dans la présente étude, nous avons mis au point une échelle modifiée de motivation de jeu pour améliorer la compréhension de la lecture et la psychométrie de l’échelle. Nous proposons également une simplification de l’interprétation des pointages de motivation par rapport au système précédent. L’analyse factorielle confirmatoire, la modélisation de l’équation structurelle et l’invariance de mesure ont été réalisées sur les deux échelles de motivation, et les résultats démontrent que six motivations étaient distinctes et importantes pour le comportement du jeu. Il s’agissait des motivations relatives au défi intellectuel (combinées à des motivations d’apprendre et de se sentir compétent), de vivre une expérience excitante, de socialiser, de se sentir important, de gagner de l’argent et de continuer à jouer pour le simple plaisir. Cette structure de motivation envers les jeux à six facteurs correspond davantage à la théorie de l’autodétermination et supprime les problèmes d’estimation avec la structure à sept facteurs. Les résultats ont montré que les joueurs qui étaient motivés à vivre une expérience excitante et à socialiser avaient plus de problèmes de jeux compulsifs.
