The aim of this study is to determine the anxiety levels of the students studying in the teaching departments and to examine these according to different variables. The sample of the study consisted of 400 non-random sampling methods and 400 prospective teachers who were studying at Dumlupinar University. The personal information form created by the researchers and the data related to the pre-service teachers' concerns about the teaching profession were provided by Caba and Yalçınalp (2009). In the research findings: “Gender”, “Age”, “Satisfaction Status”, “Class”, “Faculty” and “Sports Making Status” showed a significant difference in “OAST” total scores (p <0.05). As a result, it can be concluded that the vocational anxiety levels of the teacher candidates studying in different departments differ according to some variables.Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. Verilerin analizinde; betimsel istatistik yöntemler, Man Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis testlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularında: “Cinsiyet”, “Yaş”, “Okuduğu Bölümden Memnun Olma Durumu”, “Sınıf”, “Fakülte” ve “Spor Yapma Durumu” göre “ÖAYMK” toplam puanlarında manidar farklılık bulunmuştur. Araştırmaya gore, öğretmen adaylarının meslekleri ile ilgili kaygı seviyelerinin değişkenlere göre farklılaştığı sonucuna varılabilir.

Research has been conducted for the students studying at Akdeniz University Faculty of Sports Sciences. In the research, it was aimed to investigate the trait anxiety states of students studying at Akdeniz University Faculty of Sports Sciences and a survey model was used in the study. This study is consisted of two parts; there are 6 items in determination of demographical variables in the first part. “Trait Anxiety Inventory” Scale consisting of 20 questions developed by Spielberger was used in the second part. Likert type four-point was used in the scale items given in the second and third parts (showing the statements “Almost Always”, “Sometimes”, “Usually”, “Almost Never”). Once the comparison of trait anxiety levels by the age groups is examined among the results of the study, it is seen that trait anxiety levels of participants differ at a statistically significant level by the age groups (p<0,05). It was concluded that the trait anxiety level of the participants in the age group of 20-21 and age group of 22-23 is significantly higher than the participants in the age group of 23+ (P<0,05). In conclusion, it is considered that those who do individual sports feel more anxiety states since the responsibility only belongs to themselves. Trainings minimizing the anxiety should be further offered to the individuals doing such sports. Individual team athletes who are at national team level may be more supported.

Abstract ObjectiveTo compare intraosseous (IOA) and needle-free dental anaesthesia (NFA) methods that painless anaesthesia.Materials and MethodsTwenty patients aged 8–10 years were included in this cross-over study. To determine the anxiety levels and pain experienced by the patients, Face, Legs, Activity, Cry, Consolability (FLACC) and Frankl Behavioural scales were used. The pulse rate (PR) and salivary opiorphin levels (SOL) determined. The Friedman and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used. p<0.01 was considered significant.ResultsAccording to FLACC scores, IOA and NFA exhibited significantly pain alteration patterns in during local and topical anaesthesia, respectively (p=0.004,0.001; p<0.01). Also, only NFA showed significantly decreased SOL values in 5- and 10- minutes after local anaesthesia periods compared to the before levels (p=0.004, p=0.001; p<0.01).ConclusionsPatients feel similar pain perceptions during local anaesthesia application in both injection systems. According to the SOL values, NFA may provide more higher anaesthetic efficiency than IOA.Clinical RelevanceThis study provides to compare two different new anaesthetic systems for pain reduction during local anesthesia for pediatric population.
