This paper presents the results of a research aimed at analysing the susceptibility to shallow landslides of a study area in the Calabria region (Southern Italy). These shallow landslides, which in some cases evolve as debris flows, periodically affect the study area, causing damage to structures and infrastructure. The involved soils come from the weathering of gneissic rocks and cover about 60% of the study area. To fulfil the goal of the research, the Transient Rainfall Infiltration and Grid-based Slope-Stability (TRIGRS) model was first used, assuming input data (including physical and mechanical parameters of soils) provided by the scientific literature. Then, the preliminary results obtained were used to properly locate in situ investigations that included sampling. Geotechnical laboratory tests allowed characterising the investigated soils, and related parameters were used as new input data of the TRIGRS model. The generated shallow landslide susceptibility scenario showed a good predictive capability based on the adoption of a cutoff-independent performance technique.

This pilot study has been carried out on a sample of 51 participants – children aged 6–8 years, pupils in grades 1 and 2 at Elementary School Dimkata Angelov-Gaberot in Vatasha, Kavadarci, Republic of North Macedonia. The main objectives were: 1) to assess explosive leg power and flexibility of lower back and hamstring muscles; 2) to compare these parameters by age and sex. Measurement of anthropometric characteristics (height, weight and BMI) and assessment of explosive leg power and flexibility of lower back and hamstring muscles were performed in the school. In order to examine whether data have a normal distribution, skewness and kurtosis values and Kolmogorov–Smirnov test were used. Basic mathematical and appropriate statistical methods were used to calculate descriptive statistical parameters. Student’s t-test was applied to test the difference between groups formed based on age and sex. Boys in grades 1 and 2 showed better results than girls in standing long jump (SLJ) test, while girls in Grade 1 performed better in flexibility test (FT). Second graders who have been involved in Physical Education classes longer than first graders, have shown better results in SLJ test than first graders. The reason for this outcome is that second graders have practiced more and have a better performance technique that influenced the jump distance.

Problem statement. One of the most popular dance forms of the past centuries was exquisite, soft and smooth waltz which can be called a bright phenomenon of the world choreographic art. However, the scientific and theoretical part of this choreographic art remains quite unstudied. The purpose of the article is to reveal the sources of formation and evolution of various kinds of waltz in the European program of ballroom dance. The methodology. The methods used in this article are the following: 1) historical methods that allow to place the chosen work into the perspective of ballroom choreography development; 2) classifications and systematizations that allow to conduct the analysis of how various kinds of waltz formed; 3) stylistic methods used for studying the given form of ballroom dance in the context of the choreographic art. The results. The history of waltz formation goes back to those times when dance was not just a great art but also a part of the compulsory program of high life education. Waltz received an immense impulse around 1830 owing to two outstanding composers — Franz Lanner and Johann Strauss. In the modern period of ballroom dance development there are plenty of waltz forms: slow waltz, Viennese waltz, figured waltz, boston, classical waltz and tango-waltz. The modern European program (Standard) of ballroom dance includes two waltzes: slow and Viennese. Slow waltz opens the program for both adults and professionals, this waltz is a sort of visiting card of a couple in ballroom choreography. From the first movements of a couple one can understand the level of their mastery which includes: rhythmicity, musicality, skills of couple holds and constant moving around the floor while performing complex techniques. In Viennese waltz fast pace is added, which requires good physical training from the performers. Despite the essential changes in the structure of waltz vocabulary, nowadays this ballroom dance is positioned as a developed form that functions according to the general form-creating laws of ballroom choreography: the variability of the dancing performance technique, the compositional structure of the pattern, the specific characteristics of the choreographic vocabulary, the peculiarity of the musical structure. Given the development of modern ballroom choreography, waltz is the most spectacular dance of the choreographic art and the integral part of the development of society culture.

Athletic performance, technique assessment, and injury prevention are all important aspects in sports for both professional and amateur athletes. Wearable technology is attracting the research community’s interest because of its capability to provide real-time biofeedback to coaches and athletes when on the field and outside of more restrictive laboratory conditions. In this paper, a novel wearable motion sensor-based system has been designed and developed for athletic performance assessment during running and jumping tasks. The system consists of a number of components involving embedded systems (hardware and software), back-end analytics, information and communications technology (ICT) platforms, and a graphical user interface for data visualization by the coach. The system is able to provide automatic activity recognition, estimation of running and jumping metrics, as well as vertical ground reaction force (GRF) predictions, with sufficient accuracy to provide valuable information as regards training outcomes. The developed system is low-power, sufficiently small for real-world scenarios, easy to use, and achieves the specified communication range. The system’s high sampling rate, levels of accuracy and performance enables it as a performance evaluation tool able to support coaches and athletes in their real-world practice.

The article is devoted to the study of the features of the vocal performance of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Nazarov, who entered the history of Azerbaijani musical culture as the first performer with a countertenor timbre of voice. At the same time, the singer's uniqueness in vocal art lies in the fact that he has a wide range, as well as various vocal timbres, which determines the use of various performing techniques. The purpose of the research is to determine the features of Ilham Nazarov’s vocal performance technique as a countertenor and the influence of elements inherent in Azerbaijani music on his performance technique. The research methodology is based on the use of methods of music-analytical, historical, theoretical analysis, as well as physiological analysis of voice. In the article, the characteristics of the performer’s voice are also presented with documents, which are confirmed through laboratory tests. The methods and principles of the approach used in the framework of the research are aimed at studying the features of the musician’s voice and studying the characteristic elements of Azerbaijani music in its performance technique. The scientific novelty of the research is that the influence of Azerbaijani music on the performance of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Nazarov is being investigated for the first time. At the same time, the author explains the place and importance of the musician’s work in the art of vocal performance in Azerbaijan. I. Nazarov is the first performer with a countertenor voice timbre in the art of vocal performance in Azerbaijan. Voicing samples of national music with such a timbre of the voice itself requires a technique of distinctive performance. In this respect, the structure of the musician's performance is a process based on a complex technique. These features have been first studied and investigated on a scientific basis. Conclusions.  Based on the study of the features of I. Nazarov’s performance, the following may be concluded: I. Nazarov is a vivid example of the art of vocal performance in Azerbaijan. The features of the voice turn the performer into a unique phenomenon in the musical culture of Azerbaijan. The study focuses on the physiological features of the musician’s voice and presents the size of the vocal folds for the first time. This explains the volume of the broadband of the performer’s voice, as well as the reason for his performance by both the bass and countertenor timbre of the voice. The countertenor timbre of the voice has a distinct technique of performance. Performers having such a timbre of voice mostly refer to the composers’ works of the Baroque period. Voicing the national music of Azerbaijan with a countertenor voice timbre in itself means the combination of two different performance techniques. Thus, in his work, the performer successfully combined the technique of countertenor performance with the  features of the original performance of Azerbaijani mugham. As a result, the musician was successful in forming a unique, original style of performance.

In this research we evaluated the use of recycled fine mortar aggregate (RFMA) as a fine aggregate for new masonry mortar creation. The pre-wetting effect on the aggregate before creating the mixture was analyzed as a method to reduce its absorption potential. A control mixture of conventional mortar and two groups of recycled mortars were designed with a partial replacement of natural sand by RFMA (pre-wetted and not pre-wetted) performed in different proportions. The results established that the pre-wetting process allows a reduction in the amount of water required during the creation of new mixtures, regulating the water/cement (W/C) ratio and improving the properties of recycled mortars such as air content, fresh and hardened densities, and compressive and adhesive strength for all substitution levels. Mortar made with a 20% substitution and pre-wetted until it was at 67% of its absorption capacity displayed adhesive values higher than the ones shown by the reference mortar. The pre-wetting process proves to be an easy performance technique; it is inexpensive, environmentally friendly, and the most valuable fact is that specialized equipment is not necessarily needed. This process is the most profitable option for improving RFMA exploitation and reuse.

The article analyzes modern design practices based on symbolic and ornamental motives of folk art and their modern actualization in ethno-artistic areas, reflecting the relationship of traditional aspects with innovative, symbolic translation of cultural experience in time and space, creating symbolic value images, enhancing emotional environment and creating new narratives. Symbols, as the basis of the existence of the people, reflect the ethno- national aspects of culture, is an opportunity to find yourself at the level of relationship with your people, your nation, traditions. The appeal to archetypes is a special methodological perspective in which the meaning of the future is created due to the transformation of the past into a symbol. What is relevant in modern Ukrainian realities is that the whole cultural paradigm is being reconsidered and new ways of national identification are being sought. Embroidery is marked by a special color and incredible ornamentation, complex performance technique, which is reflected in the symbols of sociocultural practices, immersing in the depths of traditional norms and values that encourage to feel, assimilate, preserve and transmit. In modern domestic discourse, design practices are thought of as aimed at transforming the cultural environment into the integrity of cultural and natural components. They serve as a basis for forming an idea of the world and building harmonious relationships with the world. And the use of symbols-amulets and a certain emotional color is a special process of self-identification and the foundation for the revival of national culture and spiritual values, seeing their own place in the global cultural and artistic space. Therefore, the use of ornamental symbols in design practice is the basis for the revival of national culture and spiritual values and the formation of a new promising direction of Ukrainian design. Among the spiritual heritage of Ukraine with its color and incredible ornamentation, complex technique is embroidery, which is reflected in the symbols-codes of modern socio-cultural practices
