The need of the customers to be connected to the network at all times has led to the evolution of mobile technology. Operating systems play a vitol role when we talk of technology. Nowadays, Android is one of the popularly used operating system in mobile phones. Authors have analysed three stable versions of Android, 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0. Incorporating a change in the version after it is released requires a lot of rework and thus huge amount of costs are incurred. In this paper, the aim is to reduce this rework by identifying certain parts of a version during early phase of development which need careful attention. Machine learning prediction models are developed to identify the parts which are more prone to changes. The accuracy of such models should be high as the developers heavily rely on them. The high dimensionality of the dataset may hamper the accuracy of the models. Thus, the authors explore four dimensionality reduction techniques, which are unexplored in the field of network and communication. The results concluded that the accuracy improves after reducing the features.

‘Existence theory’ is a bold and imaginative contribution to social theory. Baert, Morgan and Ushiyama (hereafter ‘the authors’) draw on a broad range of existing approaches from Heidegger to Schutz to build a social theory that draws attention to time, the stages of life and the unavoidably precarious nature of human existence. At the same time, they pay careful attention to the social context in which time and existential precariousness combine to form what they call ‘the existential ladder’. Our lives are to some degree measured by the ‘existential milestones’ that we confront over time. These are not invariable stages, but they traditionally included entry into the work force, courtship and marriage, parenthood and maturity, and old age and death. There are in addition norms that attend these transitions. For example, procreation and parenthood are not for the elderly. Old fathers with young children are regarded as foolish if not reprehensible. Failure to pass through the milestones at the appropriate time may result in disappointments, stress and unhappiness.

Verbal coercion experience is common among college women and has sometimes been associated with lower self-esteem. The current study examined self-esteem based on the two verbal coercion items included in the latest version of the most popular measure of sexual victimization experience, the Sexual Experiences Survey-Short Form Victimization (SES-SFV; Koss et al., 2007 ). One item includes verbal tactics categorized as “threat” and the other item includes verbal tactics categorized as “criticism.” Undergraduate women ( n = 479) completed the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the SES-SFV. Results showed that women who experienced criticism reported lower self-esteem than those who did not experience criticism. However, threat experience was not significantly related to women’s self-esteem. Findings support Koss et al.’s suggestion that criticism tactics are more negative than threat tactics, and imply that self-esteem may be negatively associated with some sexually coercive verbal tactics but not associated with others. Future researchers should pay careful attention to operational definitions of verbal coercion.

Abstract Electrocardiogram-gated non-contrast computed tomography can discriminate a dark crescent-shaped calcified plaque characterised as a low-intensity area surrounded by high-intensity signals. Careful attention should be paid to performing a percutaneous coronary intervention for a plaque with the dark crescent sign because of its potential high risk of no-flow phenomenon.

This article presents a close, dialogue-based ethnographic account of a group of contemporary options market makers making a decision about pricing options in Tesla, Inc. Careful attention to their deliberations reveals how the rise of algorithms and automation on financial markets have rendered traders alienated and estranged from the markets they work on for their livelihood. This alienation arises, in part, due to novel cascade effects between futures and underlying equities, which algorithmic and automated trading seems to afford, and which also relate to news events as well as the actions of politicians and prominent business people. Emerging from this alienation, traders produce a critique of how highly automated financial markets allocate capital and how ripe they are for political manipulation.

AbstractIn building upon the cases presented in Chaps. 10.1007/978-3-030-88455-0_2, 10.1007/978-3-030-88455-0_3, and 10.1007/978-3-030-88455-0_4, we develop a Sociology of Interdisciplinarity that draws our empirical insights together with resources from Science and Technology Studies (STS), in addition to Sociology of Scientific Knowledge, Research Policy, Infrastructure Studies, Anthropology, and Philosophy of Science. The key novelty of this framework is using STS insights to unpick the dynamics and consequences of interdisciplinary science, which distinguishes us from decades of earlier interdisciplinarity studies and gaps in understanding. Moreover, we not only focus on individual scholars and their experiences but pay careful attention to the wider contexts of interdisciplinary research, such as the impacts of funding structures, different access to resources, and power relations. We are careful in our approach so that our units of analyses—which vary from research groups and projects to whole epistemic communities and research policies—are most appropriate for the problem definitions that we put forward. The framework rests on a set of six dimensions, which we discuss in relation to current debates in the literature and our empirical analyses.

Abstract Psychosocial care for residents with serious mental illness (SMI) requires understanding of co-morbidities and careful attention to needs, rights, and preferences. Analyses of social services directors (SSDs) responses (n=924) to the National Nursing Home Social Service Director Survey considered perceived roles and competence to provide care stratified by the percentage of NH residents with SMI. Depression screenings and biopsychosocial assessments were common roles regardless of the percentage of residents with SMI. About one-quarter lacked confidence to train colleagues in recognizing distinctions between depression, delirium and depression (23.4% unable) or to develop care plans for residents with SMI (26% unable). A bachelor’s degree (OR=0.64, 95% CI:0.43, 0.97) or less (OR= 0.47, 95% CI:0.25, 0.89) was associated with less perceived competence in care planning compared to those with a master’s degree. SSDs reported less involvement in referrals or interventions for resident aggression in homes with a high proportion of residents with SMI.

Many ingredients found within nail cosmetic products are capable of sensitizing patients’ immune systems and causing contact dermatitis (CD). These include but are not limited to tosylamide, (meth)acrylates, and formaldehyde. A clear temporal relationship between nail cosmetic procedures and an eczematous outbreak on the hands, face, or other ectopic body regions can be a key indicator of CD secondary to nail cosmetic exposure. Once an inciting allergen is identified through patch testing, elimination and avoidance becomes a mainstay of treatment alongside the use of emollients and topical anti-inflammatory therapies. Patients should be counselled to approach future nail cosmetic products and procedures with caution and careful attention to ingredients, regardless of whether or not it has a “hypoallergenic” label.
