This paper studies a fractional-order chaotic system with sine non-linearities and highlights its dynamics using the Lyapunov spectrum, bifurcation analysis, stagnation points, the solution of the system, the impact of the fractional order on the system, etc. The system considering uncertainties and disturbances was synchronized using dual penta-compound combination anti-synchronization among four master systems and twenty slave systems by non-linear control and the adaptive sliding mode technique. The estimates of the disturbances and uncertainties were also obtained using the sliding mode technique. The application of the achieved synchronization in secure communication is illustrated with the help of an example.

A new fractional-order chaotic system is addressed in this paper. By applying the continuous frequency distribution theory, the indirect Lyapunov stability of this system is investigated based on sliding mode control technique. The adaptive laws are designed to guarantee the stability of the system with the uncertainty and external disturbance. Moreover, the modified generalized projection synchronization (MGPS) of the fractional-order chaotic systems is discussed based on the stability theory of fractional-order system, which may provide potential applications in secure communication. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to show the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

This study introduces a novel 3-D fractional chaotic system with two quadratic terms and no equilibrium point. Thorough dynamical analysis of the introduced system is done studying Lyapunov dynamics with respect to fractional order and parameter value, Kaplan–Yorke dimension, bifurcation analysis, phase portraits, existence, and uniqueness of solution, dissipative and symmetric character, etc. The novel system is anti-synchronized using the novel technique ‘triple compound combination’ considering uncertainties and disturbances on a parallel system by two methods—nonlinear and adaptive sliding mode control. A proposed application of achieved synchronization in secure communication is presented. A comparative study of obtained results with published literature is also presented.

Abstract This paper deals with the design and implementation of the nonlinear control algorithm for the attitude tracking of a four-rotor helicopter known as quadrotor. The choice of this algorithm, which is based on the Backstepping sliding mode technique with adaptive gain, was justified by the fact that it ensures robustness with respect to modelling errors and external disturbances while reducing the chattering phenomenon caused by the sign function in the first order sliding mode based controllers with fixed gains. In order to show the effectiveness of the controller, experimental tests were carried out on a quadrotor. The obtained results show good performance of the proposed controller in terms of stabilisation, tracking and robustness.

In this article, we study bistability, multiscroll, and symmetric properties of fractional-order chaotic system with cubic nonlinearity. The system is configured with hyperbolic function consisting of a parameter “ g.” By varying the parameter “ g,” the dynamical behavior of the system is investigated. Multistability and multiscroll are identified, which makes the system suitable for secure communication applications. When the system is treated as fractional order, for the same parameter values and initial conditions and when the fractional order is varied from 0.96 to 0.99, multiscroll property is obtained. Symmetric property is obtained for the order of 0.99. The fractional system holds only single scroll until 0.965 order and when the order increases to more than 0.99, it is having two-scroll attractor. This property opens a variety of applications for the systems, especially in secure communication. Adaptive synchronization of the system using sliding mode control scheme is presented. For implementing the fractional-order system in field-programmable gate array, Adomian decomposition method is used, and the register-transfer level schematic of the system is presented.
