Abstract Fe-Cr-Si alloys material has good abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation resistance, especially the introduction of Si element can further improve its corrosion resistance. In this work, two Fe-Cr-Si alloys with different Si (10wt. % and 12wt. %) contents were designed and prepared by an arc furnace process. The microstructure and corrosion resistance of Fe-Cr-Si alloys were investigated. Results has shown that the Fe-Cr-Si alloys are composed of primary dendrite and interdendrite matrix, and metal silicide Fe3Si formed in the microstructure. Fe-Cr-Si alloys have a wider passivation interval than 2Cr13 stainless steel and the corrosion resistance of the Fe-Cr-Si alloys increased by more than 20 times in 10%HCl solution compare to 2Cr13 stainless steel.\

Using the methods of electron spectroscopy and slow electron diffraction, we studied the processes of the formation of nanosized metal silicide films in the near-surface region of Si (111) and Si (100) during low-energy implantation of Ba ions and alkaline elements. The optimal technological modes of ion implantation and subsequent annealing for the formation of thin nanoscale films of silicides were determined. The type of surface superstructures of thin silicide films has been established.

For continuation of investigations aimed at studying the effect of rare earth elements (RRE) on the behavior of metal-silicide molybdenum alloys in oxidizing environments, the results of experimental modeling of high-temperature oxidation of alloys based on Mo—15 (at.%) Si and doped with Sc or Y in the isothermal mode in the air and in a steam-air environment are presented. New data on the effect of REE on oxidation resistance of alloys of the Mo—Si system of hypoeutectic composition, the formation of scale on their surface, the phase composition and the structure of oxidation products was obtained.
