Entrepreneurship can be a solution to the dilemma: “Labour is a form of education, a way of ensuring existence, gaining autonomy, a physical and mental training, a way of oppression, a form of occupational therapy, all together or …none of the variants listed?” Depending on the reference field and the perspectives offered by different specializations, work is defined as a physical or intellectual action, which develop material and emotional satisfactions. Especially in closed environments, it is practiced as a form of occupational therapy (ergotherapy), because it ensures a sense of usefulness, helping to maintain somato-psycho-emotional health. The schoolmasters highlight the formative values of work for students: evaluate the native skills and abilities, lead to the discovery of new unknown interests and talents, support the student in his perfection by inoculating the ideas of responsibility, order, discipline, etc. Before 1989, in detention environment labour was mandatory, but now, labour is an optional right. The two perspectives are diametrically opposed, and the issue was addressed only from the perspective of reduced job supply, both during detention and after release. There are few publications with strict reference to this topic. In general, the social reintegration of post-execution prisoners is addressed. At this moment, the main problem highlighted is integration/reintegration on the labour market, as the main facilitating step of maintaining the accumulations during the detention period and a primary factor for avoiding the recurrence. However, those who have served a custodial sentence do not have a "ticket" to the labour market. To be known and solved, the situation should be addressed continuously: prevention before detention, education/re-education/training / retraining during detention and placement on the labor market / retraining immediately after release.

This paper focuses on the approximations that John A. Klobuchar made in mid 70s in his famous algorithm of ionospheric correction model for single frequency GPS receiver. At that time Klobuchar used a system of fixed geomagnetic north pole coordinates which are not accurate nowadays according to the International Geomagnetic Reference Field and to the World Magnetic Model because the geomagnetic poles move slowly. In addition, Klobuchar had to do other trigonometry simplifications in his implementation to avoid sophisticated computations. In order to evaluate this approximate implementation in a single frequency GPS receiver, ionospheric time and range delay are estimated on the entire day of January 1st 2010, using a different implementation in MATLAB. The required GPS data is obtained from recorded RINEX files at UDMC near DAMASCUS, SYRIA. In this comparative study, we reformulated the standard equations of Klobuchar model and examined the influence of its approximations on the ionospheric range delay and found a non- negligible bias in order of ten centimeters, whereas the influence of the movement of the geomagnetic poles was in order of few centimeters.

In digital holography, errors of the reference field degrade the quality of the reconstructed object field. In this paper, we propose an effective method in phase-shifting digital holography in which the reference field does not need to be known and perfect. The unknown complex amplitudes of both reference and object fields are derived simultaneously. The method employs only five digital holograms and a single execution of a phase retrieval algorithm. So, the required measurements and algorithm executions in this method are fewer than those in other methods; it suggests a simpler and faster method. The effectiveness of the suggested method is indicated by simulation, under noise-free and noisy conditions. Moreover, the capability of the method to extract full information about the phase singularities in both fields is demonstrated.

Abstract This paper describes how active and passive magnetic ranging logging used while drilling subsurface intervention wells shows characteristics of the target well casing integrity and damage. Over the course of the development of a novel active magnetic ranging system and through several years of commercial application, data has been collected and analyzed to understand the characteristics of casing damage. This paper explains the methods used in field operations to collect this data. Using the gathered information, various stages of casing damage and poor integrity are shown. Results obtained from active and passive magnetic ranging are presented in the context of identifying casing damage. This is a departure from the standard methods of interpreting the data as it is not focused on locating a wellbore but determining the integrity of the casing. Casing integrity in idle wells is usually understood by conventional logging techniques until there is a restriction or damage on the well. Magnetic ranging logging performed during the intervention to abandon these wells can give an indication to operators of the casing integrity that otherwise would have been unknown without access to the damaged well. This can help optimize subsequent abandonment procedures as well as assist with field planning into the future to mitigate issues stemming from casing integrity and to identify the causes of previously unknown critical casing damage. The paper reports surface experimental data and compares it with two field examples. In the first field example, the passive magnetic interference from a hundred-year-old casing in the offset well caused more than 100000nT deviation from the reference field approximately 1ft away from the offset well, suggesting severe casing damage. The active magnetic signature measured simultaneously approaches zero, pointing to a lack of electrical continuity in the offset casing caused by a complete break. The second field example shows an offset well segment with passive interference of 7000nT in the presence of a stable active magnetic signal at approximately 2ft separation between wells due to possible casing damage without complete separation. The passive interference increases to 14000 nT at deeper depth while the active signal approaches zero due to a complete casing break. Novel application using the data collected by active and passive magnetic ranging techniques is being applied for the understanding of issues related to casing integrity.
