This study aims to identify the determinants of non-performing financing (NPF) in Islamic banks in Indonesia. The study objects are the Islamic banking industry during the first quarter of 2008 until the third quarter of 2019. The variables in this study are inflation, growth of Gross Domestic Product (PDB), and Bank Indonesia rate. The statistic method used is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The result shows that inflation shock significantly affects the trend of NPF, while others do not give significant effect to NPF of Islamic Banking.

<div>Ultra-thin body (UTB) devices are being used in many electronic applications operating over a wide range of temperatures. The electrostatics of these devices depends on the band structure of the channel material, which varies with temperature as well as channel thickness. The semi-empirical tight binding (TB) approach is widely used for calculating channel thickness dependent band structure of any material, at a particular temperature, where TB parameters are defined. For elementary semiconductors like Si, Ge and compound semiconductors like GaAs, these TB parameters are generally defined at only 0 K and 300 K. This limits the ability of the TB approach to simulate the electrostatics of these devices at any other intermediate temperatures.</div><div>In this work, we analyze the variation of band structure for Si, Ge and GaAs over different channel thicknesses at 0 K and 300 K (for which TB parameters are available), and show that the band curvature at the band minima has minor variation with temperature, whereas the change of band gap significantly affects the channel electrostatics. Based on this finding, we propose an approach to simulate the electrostatics of UTB devices, at any temperature between 0 K and 300 K, using TB parameters defined at 0 K, along with a suitable channel thickness and temperature dependent band gap correction. </div>

This essay provides a better comprehension of the other disregarded impacts of FDI by examining first, the causality direction then the long- and short-term interaction among inward FDI and financial development in Guinea using 1990-2017 data set. The empirical assertions are grounded on the Granger causality wald test, Bounds test for co-integration, Error correction model (ECM) and the Auto regressive distributed lag (ARDL) framework. FDI per GDP net inflows and Credit to private sector are respectively adopted as FDI measure and financial advancement indicator. The following outcomes are established: first, FDI in the long term negatively influence financial advancement in Guinea at 5% magnitude. This inference indicates that 1 percent surge in FDI per GDP induces 0.389 decrease in credit to private sector. Second, FDI per GDP [L1] negatively and significantly interact with financial advancement in the short term. Suggesting that 1 percent increase in FDI in the short term engenders 0.215 decrease in credit to private sector. Third, the causality direction remains unidirectional irrespective to the number of lags. Finally, the long- and short-term coefficients tell us the same story regardless of the time effects. Overall, contrary to the common perceptions, we found strong evidence that foreign investment does not enhance financial development in Guinea. In terms of practical implications, it seems ineffective to use FDI as financial advancement instrument within the Guinean context.

There always exists subjective and objective color differences between digital wood grain and real wood grain, making it difficult to replicate the color of natural timber. Therefore, we described a novel method of correcting the chromatic aberration of scanned wood grain to maximally restore the objective color information of the real wood grain. A point-to-point correction model of chromatic aberration between the scanned wood grain and the measured wood grain was established based on Circle 1 by adjusting the three channels (sR, sG, and sB) of the scanned images. A conversion of the color space was conducted using the mutual conversion formulas. The color change of the scanned images before and after the correction was evaluated through the L* a* b* color-mode-based ΔE* and the lαβ color-model-based CIQI (Color Image Quality Index) and CQE (Color Quality Enhancement). The experimental results showed that the chromatic aberration ΔE* between the scanned wood grain and the measured wood grain decreased and the colorfulness index CIQI of the scanned wood grain increased for most wood specimens after the correction. The values of ΔE* of the twenty kinds of wood specimens decreased by an average of 3.1 in Circle 1 and 2.3 in Circle 2, thus the correction model established based on Circle 1 was effective. The color of the scanned wood grain was more consistent with that of the originals after the correction, which would provide a more accurate color information for the reproductions of wood grain and had an important practical significance.

Export is expected to have a favorable impact on GDP growth, and the exchange rate is expected to have a major impact on export and thus export earnings. The relationship between exchange rate and export is a hotly debated topic in macroeconomics, and the goal of this research is to see if the Marshall-Lerner condition holds incase of Bangladesh that is if devaluation of domestic currency increase export earnings. Explanatory variables of the model in the study are the exchange rate, foreign income (WGDP), and domestic income (DGDP). Cointegration approaches; Error Correction model, Granger Causality test are used in this study to estimate the long and short-run impacts. With time series data from 1973Q3 to 2018Q2, we used the Error Correction Model and the Granger Causality Test. The findings of VECM support short-run exchange rate and export adjustments. The bidirectional causality between exchange rate and export is established using the Granger causality test.

This paper uses the Johansen cointegration test and the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to study the impact of fiscal and monetary policy on economy growth in Vietnam during the period from quarter I/2004 to quarter II/2013. The results showed the cointegration relation between the macroeconomic policies and economic growth. Besides, the variance decomposition and impulse response functions from VECM model showed the impact of the two policies on economic growth were limited, in which the impact of the monetary policy on growth is greater than that of the fiscal policy on growth. Subsequently, the paper provides some recommendations to improve the efficiency of the implementation of these policies in Vietnam.
