In our continuous effort to consolidate the journal DRC Sustainable Future, we encounter a somewhat similar situation, a kind of Catch-22, applicable to publishing in a recently launched science journal. Our periodical is peer-reviewed and free of all publication and processing charges (so, it is not a predatory journal), and it has a sound international editorial board. Nevertheless, authors refrain from submitting their manuscripts to the journal, as it has not yet been entered in the database of Scopus or ISI Web of Science. In other words, so far, the journal has not earned an impact factor, and it cannot receive one wPagiet:heo16u1/t164publishing articles of broad interest to the scientific community. For publishing such papers, one needs high rating of the journal, translated in an impact factor. This dilemma is, indeed, difficult to solve. Our dedicated authors, scientists from 11 countries of 5 continents made it possible to publish 2 volumes with 2 issues per year, a total of over 40 papers, which received numerous citations. We are confident that our co-workers will get rewarded soon when the journal will be included in the Scopus and/or ISI Web of Science database. Our present issue expands our targeted realm of sustainability to the fields of transportation, architecture, education, and sustainability of the process of innovation. Editors of DRC Sustainable Future are hopeful that the fourth issue of the journal contains several interesting papers, appealing to a wide segment of the scientific community. Our second issue of volume 2 of DRC Sustainable Future benefits of both interesting topics and famous authors.

Stance refers to attitude, feelings, judgment or commitment of a speaker towards a proposition. A speaker employs certain linguistics features to express his stance including hedges, boosters, self-mentions and attitude markers. This research aims at analyzing stance of Indonesian writers in social and hard science journal articles written in English by examining the use of linguistic features employed as stance markers. The research result shows that the writers of social science articles use more stance marker compares to those of hard science articles. Indonesian writers maintain the objectivity of academic writing as there was very limited use of self-mentions in the articles. The stance markers used by Indonesian writers represent the positive, negative or neutral type of stance.

This study aims to investigate the theoretical contributions on organisational behaviour and meritocracy. The methodology used involved exploratory analysis, based on bibliometric research. The data were extracted from the Scopus and Web of Science journal databases, accessed through the journals portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and through the restricted access of the Federated Academic Community (Café) of the Instituto Federal Goiano (IF Goiano). The result obtained indicated the combination of the search terms, "organisational behaviour and merit". (Scopus and Web of Science). It was used as technical support, a set of open source solutions, R software, with techniques for filtering duplicate and non-pertinent publications, totaling 63 articles, ranging from the years 2015 to June 2021. It is clear that there is a concentration of terms reporting on public educational organisations, which focus on issues about performance and the positive effects of human behaviour. Finally, it was identified that the term merit is closer to contexts involving perspectives, gender, and market, while meritocracy subsidizes studies that address organisational social inequality and human resource management.

This study investigated how keeping a journal related to issues and concepts in science influences sixth grade students’ affective characteristics, including cognition, interest, and attitude towards science. The development of these characteristics is related to students’ attitudes and interests in learning. Previous studies have primarily focused on the affective characteristics of gifted students, while only a few have focused on elementary students in public schools. We asked 34 grade six students in Korean public schools to keep a journal related to science and technology three times a week for 12 weeks (September–November 2018). The results show students’ perspectives on writing science journals from data, including questionnaires, interviews, and surveys. The results also suggest that keeping a science journal develops students’ affective characteristics related to science. Our findings will contribute to the development of better pedagogies for sustainability and resources for teaching science among elementary students.

What is the objective for science journals to publish research papers? Would it be enough to collect research manuscripts and simply publish them in print or on the web? Science journal publishers have always strived to find ways of disseminating journal content to as many readers as possible. It is now time for science journal publishers to think about why a journal should be published; whether it is acceptable for valuable scientific findings to lie dormant in a journal’s archive; and whether traditional science communication is still effective. The present article suggests that science journals should transform themselves into science storytellers to improve the visibility and discoverability of their research findings. First, a new communication network between journals, authors, peers, the public, and policymakers is required. Second, conversion of media from academic language to plain language is critical to broadening the audience. Third, audio-visual content should be introduced into journal publishing to facilitate easy comprehension of the content. Fourth, research-focused channels, including EurekAlert, Medium, and social networking service channels are recommended as new media to propagate journals’ content to researchers. Improving visibility and discoverability is an urgent mission, especially for small society journals. To achieve this mission, science journals should be adapted to become storytellers and science communicators, as suggested above. A small society journal’s editor is not merely an editor, but an editor-publisher; therefore, editors should understand and take on this role.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the most important themes and topics in the marketing field in the top of three published marketing journals: Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, and Journal of Marketing. between 2015–2020, in order to identifying the marketing researchers’ interest and topics in each theme. With a reviewing a number of (1027) published articles in the selected articles between 2015 - 2020, the study found that the Journal of Marketing Research has got a share of 40% (420 articles) of the total published articles compared to 31% (318 articles) for the Marketing Science Journal, and 29% (289 articles) for the Journal of Marketing. The study resulted that the E- Marketing, advertising, consumer behavior, product development and pricing themes have got a share of 35% (363 articles) of the total published articles of those three journals (1027) published articles. E-Marketing has got the highest interest of the three top journals interest with a total of 97 published articles. Then advertising theme has got the second interest with 81 published articles each, and finally, consumer behavior and product development themes have got around 60 published articles. However, the study showed that green marketing and international marketing themes had very week interest in the three journals with a total of five articles published in the selected journals between 2015–2020.

The overview of publications on soil cartography in “Pochvovedenie”/“Eurasian Soil Science” journal for the period 1899–2020 demonstrates a high diversity of themes and certain trends in the number and dynamics of papers. Their total number (365), calculated per 5-year-long intervals, was distributed rather evenly among these 121 years: approximately 10–15 papers in each interval, although three maximums are rather clear. The first one fell on the post-war interval and was followed by 1965–1970 and 2010–2015 maximums. Discussion of large-scale maps dominated the early publications, many of them tackled soil surveys and applied problems; in the mid-century papers, soil maps of various regions of the country were described since it was time of extensive terrain investigations; numerous were also papers concerning methodology of soil mapping. New approaches and technique were actively discussed in the papers at the turn of centuries, such as remote sensing or digital soil mapping. Along with map compilation issues, there are publications on applying information provided by soil maps for both traditional and novel purposes: schemes of zoning in the former case and development of prognostic maps or assessment of pedodiversity in the latter case. The majority of papers on zoning, concern soil-geographical (later soil-ecological) schemes, whereas the derived types of zoning, for example, ameliorative or erosional, are discussed in few papers. The performed overview may be regarded as summing up the results of traditional soil mapping development with emphasizing its most valuable achievements, as well as indicating the initial signs of new trends.
