This study examines the symbolic preaching of Chinese Islam at the Muhammad Cheng Hoo Mosque, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java. A place of worship that has become a symbol of a house of worship for Chinese Muslims in particular and Muslims in general. The architecture of the building which is unique, interesting, and similar to that of a temple as a place of worship for the Confucian people is a distinctive feature of the Islamic treasures. Cheng Hoo Purbalingga Mosque has an attraction, from the physical side, it is not so visible as a mosque building, but when you go inside, the nuances of Islam will clearly show the mixture of Chinese cultural acculturation with Islam. This study concludes that the ornaments and shapes of this mosque contain symbolic values and messages (wisdom) of da’wah. The symbolic values of da’wah contained, namely: the value of beauty (artistic), cultural values (turats), accommodative values, brotherhood values (ukhuwah) and the value of unity. The establishment of the Cheng Hoo Mosque gave a message (wisdom) of da’wah that Islam teaches hospitality and openness to all cultural entities, Islam adapts and interacts with various social traditions and Islam teaches tolerance in a life full of diversity.

This chapter aims to analyze if entrepreneurial leadership, regarded as a distinctive feature of entrepreneurial processes, represents an essential element for obtaining satisfactory innovation performance in an emerging context such as Colombia in Latin America. The relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and innovation management works differently in family firms (FF) compared with their non-family counterparts. Indeed, there is no consensus in the literature on the effects of entrepreneurial leadership on innovation success in family small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Exploratory research has been conducted considering a survey held on family SMEs in Colombia. Results highlight the importance of supporting entrepreneurial leadership in order to achieve the innovation goals in these types of organizations and show how these factors change between family SMEs with family CEOs and non-family CEOs. In this sense, although the focus in this chapter is on FF, the conclusions could be to some extent generalized to SMEs.

This paper proposes a circuit solution and a power source control algorithm for semi-automatic AC welding with improved energy and weight-size characteristics. A distinctive feature of the designed source is the absence of an input rectifier: welding is carried out with a high-frequency alternating current. That has made it possible to significantly reduce power losses in the source, as well as provide the possibility of implementing induction heating by connecting an inductor to the source output. Another distinctive feature of the designed source is an increased power factor and a reduced level of higher harmonics of the current consumed. The power factor of the described source reaches 0.94 against 0.5÷0.7 for sources equipped with a conventional rectifier with capacitive smoothing. The designed source's composition includes a power supply system for the wire feed drive with speed stabilization due to positive feedback on the motor current. That has made it possible to ensure the stable operation of the drive in a wide range of speeds. A model has also been developed of a flux wire welding torch containing a feed drive and a coil with a wire (up to 100 mm in diameter), placed, in order to reduce the size, in the handle of the torch. In addition to the welding function, the source makes it possible to solve the tasks related to induction heating and/or hardening of small parts; to that end, a compact inductor is connected to its output. Tests of the source showed the feasibility of the proposed ideas and circuit solutions. The dimensions of the source are 190×107×65 mm; weight, 1.4 kg; output current, up to 120 A. The proposed technical solution enables the construction of small-sized, lightweight, universal, easy-to-use power supplies for semi-automatic welding with the option of induction heating

Abstract Turkey’s long sixties started with a military coup (May 27, 1960) and ended with another military coup (March 12, 1971). During this period, there was an explosion in the number of radical left and socialist movements in Turkey. One of the leading left movements of the period was the Yön-Devrim movement. The most distinctive feature of this movement was the special role it placed on the military in the transition to socialism. In this article, we will focus on the relationship between the military and left/socialist politics during this period. To this end, we will examine the Yön-Devrim movement, specifically their approach to the military. In particular, we will examine why this movement imposed a “progressive” mission on the military, what kind of a transition a possible military coup would provide for socialism, and what role they envisioned for the army, and the bureaucracy in general, in the class struggle.

Despite their controversial status in the current literature on sojourner adjustment, classical U-curve and four-stage models of culture shock continue to enjoy remarkable popularity. This study aims to investigate their validity by starting from (recollected) sojourner experience. Using a qualitative approach, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 50 students who had taken part in the European Erasmus exchange to see if any adaption patterns would emerge that tally with previous conceptions or offer alternatives to them. Our results show that neither moments of crisis or shock, nor any of the four stages or the typical culturally induced adjustment problems were generally reported. Accounts instead focused on success, personal growth, and a three-phase structure that divided the experience mainly in terms of social contacts and eventfulness. Furthermore, emotional ambivalence emerged as a distinctive feature throughout the entire stay. We propose that the specific characteristics of the Erasmus experience account for some of our results. Students’ close relationship with their international peers, which is one of these features, may thus facilitate cultural adaptation.

A new oligochaete of the family Naididae, subfamily Naidinae, Bratislavia gusevi sp. n., was found in a forest stream in Vietnam. The worm is characterized by small size, asexual reproduction by fragmentation, and dorsal bundles of chaetae beginning from segment II. Each dorsal bundle bears one to two hairs and one to two simple-pointed or bifid, rarely trifid, needle chaetae. An additional distinctive feature of the worm is the presence of one to two enlarged simple-pointed needle chaetae in the bundles of segment IV. These chaetae are somewhat longer and markedly wider than the needles in the rest of the segments. The present paper provides an illustrated description of the discovered individuals and discusses the species’ systematic position, asexual reproduction and regeneration.
