Voluntary engagement (VE) creates a sense of coordination and harmonization to share knowledge. The eminence of knowledge sharing (KS) for supply chain (SC) innovation is undeniable to initiate development in products, services, and operations. However, KS process is undergoing challenges in sustaining KS engagement by SC partners. Hence, recent researchers call for the need to address this gap in the literature to assess VE barriers. This paper studies the causal relationship of VE barriers on two MNCs, i.e., Toyota and Suzuki, via the fuzzy DEMATEL approach. The case examination findings indicate culture's alignment as the prime cause of VE and leadership commitment has stronger interdependence. The core problems which need elimination are fear of losing the job, prominence and opportunistic behavior. The study concludes that companies need to instigate the natural attributes of employees’ VE by setting-up earnest guidelines to practice free information and knowledge flow.

The article is devoted to identifying the effects of digitalization of the public procurement system. The dominant tendency in the development of the procurement system is determined. A review of the individual elements of the public procurement system, which act as objects of digitalization, is carried out. The specific effects of the implementation of digital technologies are analyzed, contributing to the reduction of unfair, opportunistic behavior of customers, and as a result – a decrease in appeals, an increase in the level of transparency, and the availability of procurement. A comparative legal analysis of procurement legislation is carried out. The statistics of appeals to the antimonopoly service is considered. The conclusion about the reduction of transaction costs when transferring public procurement to digital format is substantiated. A conclusion is made about the digital transformation of the public procurement system, which consists in reducing the costs of their distribution and increasing the efficiency of using budget funds.

The aim of this research is to show the effects of the relations between capability similarity and opportunisticbehaviors and competitiveness and performance from firms. The research provides the basis for capability similarity and opportunistic behaviors. The research was carried out in companies with at least 100 stores, which are centrally located in Istanbul and have a significant share in the service sector. The data were statistically analyzed using the Smartpls 3.2 Package Program. The research showed that the organizations’ capabilities and opportunistic behavior influenced their performance and competitiveness.

This article investigates non-financial factors affecting performance of livestock farms in the meat supply chain in Albania. A structured questionnaire was developed to collect data in three main regions of Albania (Tirana, Korça and Lushnje). Confirmatory factor analysis is used to develop measures for the non-financial factors (i.e. trust, contracts, opportunistic behavior, information sharing and information quality) and Structural Equation Modelling is employed to test study hypotheses. The result shows that trust is positively associated with farm’s performance. On the other hand, communication (i.e. resulting from the merge of information sharing and information quality) is negatively associated with performance. However, communication appears to have a positive association with farm’s performance indirectly through its effect on trust. Thus, it can be deducted that communication builds trust and trading relationship based on trust show higher levels of farm’s performance. Lastly, contracts and opportunistic behavior do not show any significant association with farm’s performance.

Subject. The article discusses the issues of reducing transaction costs with respect to the opportunistic behavior of suppliers. Objectives. The study reveals forms and constituents of opportunism, analyzes possible model for the opportunistic behavior of supplier, illustrating the practical example. We suggest how transaction costs of manufacturing enterprises should be reduced. Methods. The methodological framework comprises general methods of analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction. We used articles and monographs of the Russian and foreign scholars, and data of manufacturing enterprises in machine building and metallurgy, which authors gained as part of their professional career. Results. Reviewing proceedings of foreign and national researchers on transaction costs with respect to the opportunistic behavior of supplier, we analyzed forms and constituents of opportunism. Models of suppliers’ opportunistic behavior are studied in terms of transaction costs incurred by the manufacturing enterprise, which performs orders for their suppliers. We suggest what should be done to prevent opportunism. We also revealed key strategies for responding to the opportunistic behavior of suppliers, which pursue lower transaction costs of manufacturing enterprises. Conclusions and Relevance. Preventing opportunism, manufacturing enterprises make their relations with suppliers more reliable and effective, thus reducing transaction costs in procurement. It is noteworthy that opportunism prevention activities should be undertaken if their cost is lower than the losses due to opportunism.

We report the draft genome sequence of Vibrio chagasii strain 18LP, isolated from gilthead seabream larvae at a fish hatchery research station in Portugal. The genome presents numerous features underlying opportunistic behavior, including genes coding for toxin biosynthesis and tolerance, host cell invasion, and heavy metal resistance.

Economic growth unambiguously presupposes the development of enterprises based on the introduction of new technologies that require changes in the forms of organization of labor, its content. This inevitably entails staff resistance to the implementation of changes. Known techniques solve this problem, but they cannot be called effective and efficient. The reason is that when influencing personnel, they are guided mainly by the labor behavior of employees. Resistance of personnel, expressed in the opportunistic behavior of employees in the performance of new job duties, new labor procedures, solving old tasks with new methods and means. But the reason for the resistance goes deeper. It lies in the content and structure of social and labor relations. In the article, this the problem is considered through the prism of the institutional structure of social and labor relations, which are the essential basis of labor. A method of transforming them before introducing changes in order to reduce the potential of workers’ resistance is also proposed.
