AbstractA new xinjiangchelyid turtle, Kalasinemys prasarttongosothi n. gen. n. sp., is described on the basis of skull and shell material from the Upper Jurassic Phu Kradung Formation at Phu Noi locality, Kalasin Province, in NE Thailand. This second xinjiangchelyid turtle from Phu Noi is distinct from Phunoichelys thirakhupti by the smooth shell surface, the presence of a cervical notch, and vertebral 1 narrower than nuchal. The skull presents an arterial system characteristic of the Xinjiangchelyidae (basal Eucryptodira), and its outline is similar to that of Annemys spp. known from the Middle–Late Jurassic of China and Mongolia, but distinct from the latter mainly by the wider triturating surface, smaller foramen palatinum posterius and the shape of the prefrontal and frontal, as well as that of the basisphenoid and basioccipital. Based on the turtle assemblages, the correlation with mainland Asia further supports a Late Jurassic age for the lower part of the Phu Kradung Formation where Phu Noi site is located stratigraphically. Our study provides new insight on the evolution of the basal eucryptodiran turtles in Asia.

Two new sinistral species of the genusSatsumaA. Adams, 1868,Satsumasquamigerasp. n.andSatsumaadiriensissp. n., from southern Taiwan are described.Satsumasquamigerasp. n.is characterized by a microsculpture comprising coarse, irregularly-spaced ridges and dense, easily-dislodged triangular scales on its sinistral shell, an angulated periphery, and partly-opened umbilicus. This species inhabits secondary forests in lowland hills.Satsumaadiriensissp. n.is characterized by a thin, fragile smooth shell with microsculpture of coarse, loose ridges, a rounded periphery, completely-opened umbilicus, and elongated penial verge formed by two main pilasters. This new species was collected in a mountainous, mid-elevation, broad-leafed forest.

AbstractArtigasia indigena n. sp. is characterized by the cuticle thin, annulated and with spines arranged in regular longitudinal rows from the first ring to the base of medial bulb. The first ring is differentiated with eight spines, the second ring is bigger and without spines, and then a series of small rings with spines come up to the base of medial bulb. Lateral alae absent, stoma short with four thickening cuticle like teeth, excretory pore posterior situated at the beginning of the intestine, V = 67 %, eggs oval with smooth shell, male without spicule, and genital papillae arranged with one pair of preanal papillae and one pair of postanal papillae.

This paper investigated the influence of activator concentration, reaction time and fineness of fly ash on the dissolving character of the active Si/Al in fly ash activated by alkali. The results indicated that with the increase of the NaOH solution concentration, the dissolving percentage of active Si/Al in the fly ash went up. The finer the fly ash particles were, the higher dissolving percentage of active Si/Al was obtained. Under strong basic (2M NaOH solution) and boiling condition, the reaction time of active Si/Al dissolving was short and less than 10 minutes. The content of vitreous phase contributed to the content of active components. Active Si existed in the state of Q0 unit which presented an isolated silicon-oxide tetrahedron in fly ash, and active Al exhibited as Al[OSi]3 and Al[OSi]4 units in 4 coordinate. As the fly ash was activated by alkali, smooth shell of fly ash was gradually corroded by NaOH solution, glass phase was dissolved and crystal phase was exposed to the outside.

Blatticola biannulata n. sp. (Oxyurida, Thelastomatidae) a parasite of the cricket Anurogryllus muticus (De Geer)(Orthoptera, Gryllidae) from Argentina, is described and illustrated. This is the second species of the genusBlatticola found parasitizing cricket. Females of this new species is characterized by the cuticle that is annulatedfrom the anterior end up to the middle of the body, the mouth opening being subtriangular in shape surroundedby 8 cephalic papillae, the short stoma with two semicircles sclerotised and the telostoma with onemovable tooth, small pore shaped amphids, an oesophagus divided into three parts, anterior cylindrical corpus, isthmus distinct, and basal bulb valvated, the nerve ring situated arounded the isthmus, the intestine broadestanteriorly, eggs oval, smooth shell, in apical view show a triangular section, with three wings, the dorsal oneand two lateroventrals, males with one pair of preanal, and two pairs of postanal papillae, and the tail appendageshort, conical and pointed, the female has in the top an structure of anchorage, like structure of grasp.
