The purpose of the research was to study the structure of MPG-7 fine-grained graphite by X-ray inspection and scanning electron microscope investigation methods. We carried out a structural and local chemical analysis of inhomogeneities occurring in graphite blanks. According to the data obtained, we changed technical documentation for the incoming quality control of MPG-7 graphite blanks and details.

Most of the cucurbits diseases in Indonesia are caused by plant viruses. Tobamovirus is one of the viral genera recently infected cucurbits. The members of cucurbits-infecting Tobamovirus are Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV), Kyuri green mottle mosaic virus (KGMMV), Cucumber fruit mottle mosaic virus (CFMMV), Zucchini green mottle mosaic virus (ZGMMV), and Cucumber mottle virus (CuMoV). A research on the occurrence of cucurbits-infecting Tobamovirus in Indonesia was carried out in 2011. Based on the result, a new characteristic of viral particle were found in watermelon. The viral particle was previously identified as CGMMV based on electron microscope investigation revealed presence of rod-shaped and not enveloped virions. The virions were straight about 300 nm long and 28–30 nm in diameter. However, in some electron micrograph shows rare characteristic of the viral particle. The viral particles could joint each other to bend a new form. Two viral particles were able to joint and formed an angle. Moreover, some of viral particles could joint and form a longer viral particle (800-1100 nm), two to four times longer than CGMMV particle, but the both diameter of the virus are similar. These characteristics indicate that the viral particle is a novel virus, different from CGMMV or other Tobamovirus members.

The microstructure of aluminum nanopowder combustion crystalline products in air and the influence of a constant magnetic field (with induction of 0.3 T) on their structures have been studied. It was revealed that in the combustion products of free-poured aluminum nanopowder two-level whiskers are present. Hexagonal single crystals are formed by combustion in air in a homogeneous magnetic field, and in case of inhomogeneous magnetic field (with induction of 0.3 T) faceted elongated crystals of micron size are generated. The crystallites of such structure are formed due to the mass transfer of the combustion products in the direction of thermal flows. Ordered six-sided crystal structures are formed by overcooling the oxidation products by the action of magnetic field and by increasing the mobility of their structural units in recrystallization thermal wave. According to electron- microscope investigation the formation of the faceted crystals is possible with optimal sizes of combustion product particles.

A new approach was suggested for creating nano-dimensional materials based on water-soluble polymers. Nano-seized Al-contained structures were synthesized; such structures were screened by a cover of sodium-carboxymethylcellulose by heating up to 70-80 degrees of Celsius of a sodium-carboxymethylcellulose's polymere with Al microparticles with dimension less than 20 mkm. Morphological features of created composites were researched. It was established that agglomerates of received particles were reached values of 300-600 nm and consisted of tubular types' structures with dimensions 80-100 nm.
