This research paper is intended to refine the aerodynamic moment of the missile based on an analysis of flight tests and results of gas dynamics software computations. The paper compares mathematical simulation results with flight test data in order to demonstrate an improved convergence due to the proposed refinement.

The paper is devoted to the problem of optimal machine design selection by developing and solving the problem of multi-criteria optimisation, using the method suggesting a unified criterion with the use of weighting factors based on expert estimates. Based on the example of the design of a multi-purpose machine for service electric transport, a mathematical model of parametric optimisation of the design of electric and combined propulsion plants is developed. The most efficient system components are selected to meet the customer's requirements.

Based on the first-kind integral equation method for the electric field, the procedure and software for calculating the radar cross-section of axisymmetrical objects, bodies of revolution, are developed. Algorithms are proposed for computation of the matrix of mutual impedances and Green's function of a ring source providing the computation accuracy required for obtaining a stable solution. The method of solution approximation accuracy evaluation by azimuthal harmonics is proposed. Comparison with test examples is carried out and the applicability for solving real-world problems is shown.

A methodology of expert analysis of the market of alternative corporate information systems (CIS) is proposed in order to choose the platform for creating a CIS that fully meets the requirements of a particular defence company. The proposed methodology is based on a set of adapted methods of the decision support theory applied to the problems of multi-criteria collective choice of alternatives.

Based on the determined ground surface clutter spectrum, we analyse the specific features of functioning of the active homing head (AHH) in relation to different types of radiated signals. With respect to AHH functioning, the paper gives recommendations for use of target data acquired against the Earth's background by monopulse synthetic aperture radars.

Doppler related range measurement error (velocity error) can make a major contribution to the systematic error in radars with linear-frequency modulation of a probing pulse. The velocity error can be eliminated by range prediction. It was difficult to apply this approach to radars with analogue signal processing due to lack of advanced computer aids. In radars with digital signal processing, the velocity error in range measurements is often eliminated by estimating Doppler frequency. This paper covers issues related to the elimination of the velocity error by range prediction without Doppler frequency estimation and presents the experiment results at surveillance radar.

This paper briefly describes an analysis of main electrodynamic characteristics required in design of dual-band Yagi antenna exciters consisting of two electrically thick conductors. The study of end-fed excitation of the said system of conductors allows to predetermine the design of conceptually new circuits of classic dipole radiators, avoiding closely-spaced arrangement of feeding strips that ensure direct excitation of dipole arms and, therefore, reducing their electromagnetic spurious coupling. The latter prevents asymmetry in surface current amplitude distribution on dipole arms and allows to improve its directivity and matching with a power feeder.

The developed optoelectronic system can be used for detecting a wide range of aircraft. Its performance is based on classical methods of optical detection as well as on non-standard solutions. To determine the product capabilities and meet the customer’s requirements, we conducted simulation modelling of the feasibility of proposed solutions at the development stage. The results of field tests and sea trials promise quite accurate prediction of the system’s performance outcome.
