The aim of this study is to test the applicability of the construct of memorable tourism experience in the context of a mega-sport event, and to investigate the contribution of event quality factors on the development of memorable tourism experiences. For the accomplishment of this aim, thestudy investigated the experiences of a sample of international spectators who attended the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches hosted in St. Petersburg, Russia. Data collection took place on-site during the group stage matches hosted at the stadium and was conducted with a self-completion questionnaire using two scales, one for memorable tourism experience and one for event quality factors. The results of exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses provided support for the psychometric properties of revised versions of the two scales. Multiple regression analysis showed that memorable tourism experiences were significantly predicted by the event quality factors, with the authenticity, entertainment, venue quality, and event competition dimensions having the most significant contributions. Theoretical and management implications are discussed.
The interactions of water, energy, and food resources resulting in WEF nexus thinking have been conceptualized as an integrated framework to achieve the security of the three vital resources. However, there are some gaps in WEF nexus research, which constrains the understanding and actualization of the nexus. Hence, this review paper aims to assess theories, human resource management implications, and emerging technologies' effect in understanding the nexus for its actualization. The research employed a qualitative research methodology to achieve the research objectives. The research findings revealed six (6) significant theories that can aid the understanding and actualization of the WEF nexus. The research also revealed that human resource management is strategic, highlighting the need for nexus thinking among human resources. Furthermore, the study revealed the three major emerging technologies of Artificial Intelligence, Big data analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT), which are shaping the WEF nexus through innovations and shaping the nature of the nexus. The study concluded that there is an interaction between the theories and human resources management for attaining the WEF nexus, which affects the extent of the sustainability of the innovations introduced by the emerging technologies. The study recommended quantification of the theories, training on nexus thinking of the current human resource in the WEF sectors, and capital investment on emerging technologies in the WEF nexus.
AbstractThis review focuses on existing technologies for carcass and corpse disposal and potential alternative treatment strategies. Furthermore, key issues related to these treatments (e.g., carcass and corpse disposal events, available methods, performances, and limitations) are addressed in conjunction with associated environmental impacts. Simultaneously, various treatment technologies have been evaluated to provide insights into the adsorptive removal of specific pollutants derived from carcass disposal and management. In this regard, it has been proposed that a low-cost pollutant sorbent may be utilized, namely, biochar. Biochar has demonstrated the ability to remove (in)organic pollutants and excess nutrients from soils and waters; thus, we identify possible biochar uses for soil and water remediation at carcass and corpse disposal sites. To date, however, little emphasis has been placed on potential biochar use to manage such disposal sites. We highlight the need for strategic efforts to accurately assess biochar effectiveness when applied towards the remediation of complex pollutants produced and circulated within carcass and corpse burial systems.
The purpose of the article: to find new (most effective) directions for the corporate COVID-19 risks management and developing management implications for leading this fight amid the pandemic and crisis for sustainable development. The methods of correlation and regression analysis are used. It is proved that the most perspective method of the corporate fight against the COVID-19 risks is a flexible transformation of business according to the new conditions based on the Industry 4.0 technologies. This paper further develops and supplements the concept of corporate social responsibility, including a new direction—corporate fight against the COVID-19 risks in it. The authors develop management implications on improving the corporate fight against the COVID-19 risks as a new direction of corporate social responsibility amid the pandemic. The advantages of using the Industry 4.0 technologies for the corporate fight against the viral threat include reduction of the share of the population with household expenditures for healthcare above 25% of total expenditures or incomes, reduction of the number of new cases per 1 million people, and an increase of the self-isolation index, the share of responsible employers amid COVID-19 risks.
