Abstract There is a considerable demand for legged robots with exploring capabilities such as passing through narrow pathways. Soft robots can provide a solution for such applications. Here, we propose a soft legged mobile robot with bimorph piezoelectric main body and pre-curved piezoelectric legs. We experimentally demonstrate the performance of the soft mobile robot. The mobile robot can move 70% of the body length per second. In addition, we investigate physical mechanisms behind the locomotion of the mobile robot using a numerical simulation. Interestingly, the mobile robot generates an animal-like running motion. We find that the amplitude difference of the legs, depending on the leg activation condition, may affect the performance of the robot. We also confirm that the soft mobile robot can maintain the movement under impulsive shock owing to its flexibility.

A cohesive zone model for low-cycle fatigue analysis is developed in a consistent thermodynamic framework of elastic-plastic-damage mechanics with internal variable. A specific fatigue activation condition allows to model the material degradation related to the elastic-plastic cyclic loading conditions, with tractions levels lower than the damage activation condition. A moving endurance surface, in the classic framework of kinematic hardening, enables a pure elastic behavior without any fatigue degradation for low levels loading conditions.

Advances in porcine embryos production have been impaired by the in vitro maturation (IVM) system and in vitro developments (IVD) are still not optimized. The present study was undertaken to determine the effects of different oocytes collection methods (aspiration and dissection) on oocytes maturation and combine with the different electro-activation protocols on in vitro pre-implantation development of parthenogenetic diploid porcine embryos. The results showed that dissection method was significantly higher both in quantity (87.23%, p <0.05) of matured oocytes and in the rate of oocytes with very good quality (53.00%) compared with aspiration method (62.00%, 30.22%; respectively). We further accessed the quality of matured oocytes competence via parthenogenetic embryo development. Using four electro-activation protocols, we found that the electro-activation condition had no effect on the development of embryos to the 2-cell, 4-cell and 8-cell stages. However, the oocytes activated by the 60V/cm amplitude of pulse group had less (41.33%; p <0.05) development at the morula stage than 90V/cm, 100V/cm and 150V/cm amplitude of pulse groups (73.99%, 67.62%, 72.55%; respectively). The embryos develop to blastocyst stage was highest in the group induced by 90V/cm electro pulse was 71.76% compared to 100V/cm, 150V/cm, and 60V/cm (62.86%, 62.05%, and 37.63%, p<0.001, respectively). We conclude that the combining of dissection method for porcine oocytes collection and electro-activation with the amplitude of pulses 90V/cm can enhance both the activation success and development competition in in vitro pre- implantation parthenogenetic diploid porcine embryos.

ABSTRACTStudy on bentonite adsorbent properties such as benthonite optimum activation condition, afectof sulfic acid consentration, activation temperature and activation time to decolorization ofmethilne Blue has been conducted. The study was started by activation of bentonite uponmethylene blue. The data was analysis by statistical method : Least Significant Difference (LSDor BNT). It is found that the mass of bentonite significantly effected (P < 0,01) on thedecolorization percentage of methylene blue. The optimum condition of adsorbtion showed thatthe concentration of activating agent (sulfic acid) was 20%, activation temperature at 110o C andactivation time was 30 minutes. On this optimum condition, the bentonite absorbed methyleneblue up to 93.30% .Keywords: Bentonite, Methylene Blue, Activation, Decolorization

The present study investigated avoidant attachment orientation differences in emotion processing biases under different conditions of attachment schema activation (subliminal, supraliminal or no-activation). After completing a dimensional assessment of adult attachment, 97 participants were randomly assigned to one of the three activating conditions and subsequently performed an Emotional Stroop Task including attachment and emotion positive and negative words. Consistently, in the supraliminal activation condition, avoidant participants demonstrated higher interference of attachment-related and emotional stimuli compared to the no-activation condition; they focused on the task-relevant processes (colour naming), ignoring the semantic meaning of the words (lower interference). The results of the present study suggest that avoidant individuals use both pre-emptive and post-emptive strategies under different activating conditions in the processing of emotion information. The results also highlight interpretation of latencies in the Emotional Stroop Task for avoidant participants.
