Objectives: The objective of this study was to find the cephalometric measurements that correlate with the visual perception. Materials and Methods: A total of 250 lateral cephalograms of patients from the year 2016 to 2018 were hand traced and analyzed. Thirty-six hard- and soft-tissue measurements were obtained from the lateral cephalometric analysis. Silhouettes obtained from cephalometric films were rated by 10 orthodontists based on their level of convexity. For each sample, the rating of visual perception was correlated with all the cephalometric (hard and soft) measurements. Results: ANB, AF-BF, L1-NB (mm), overjet, anterior maxillary alveolar height, posterior maxillary alveolar height, lower lip to E plane, and H angle were positively correlated with the visual perception. On the contrary, Pg. to N perpendicular and Pg. to NB (mm) were negatively correlated with the visual perception. However, the measurements in the vertical dimensions did not have any significant correlations with visual perception. H angle showed a higher correlation with visual perception than the nasolabial angle, facial contour angle, and lower lip to E plane. Conclusion: The agreement between objective cephalometric measurements and subjective visual perception was less than expected. In general, only 27% of the cephalometric measurements had a significant correlation with visual perception. Therefore, orthodontic treatment planning based solely on cephalometric analysis can result in unsatisfactory treatment outcomes. An inclusion of subjective measures such as visual perception in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning is necessary.

Autologous fat grafting is a technique that has been used for a long time in the field of plastic surgery. Besides many advantages, the complications, which can range from mild such as hematoma, infection, calcification, necrosis... even death is a big problem.  The article presents a case of using autologous fat taken from the abdomen to graft onto the facial area with complications of severe infection in both the receiving and donor sites, causing necrosis of fat and skin in both areas. The treatment takes a long time with different procedures, but the consequences for the patient are still very serious both in terms of aesthetics and function. The objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of fat grafting to the facial region for the reconstruction and aesthetic enhancement of facial contour.

Feminism sheds light on women's identities in a variety of ways, along with criticism of gender discrimination and male-centered thinking. In particular, Cindy Sherman's selfie, known as a feminist photographer, expresses various women's images, showing a new identity of women. This study examined feminism makeup that expresses women's self-identification in the recent emergence of Me Too and feminism, and analyzed feminism makeup in Cindy Sherman's self-portrait to find out its aesthetic characteristics. First, the nature of Cindy Sherman's feminism makeup was expressed as dominant masculinity. Through various typical forms of beard, he strongly emphasized masculinity, and his eyebrows were thick and dark, and his facial contour was manly. The beard is a symbol of masculinity and a facial expression of social status and character, so Cindy Sherman actively expresses herself as a feminine figure with feminism makeup. Second, Cindy Sherman's characteristics of feminism makeup expressed the characteristics of benignity, which are caused by the confusion of femininity and masculinity. It emphasizes a positive image to exaggerate the image of a man with feminine features and a manly hairstyle and long, voluminous eyelashes. This positive image can also be seen in postmodernism Androgenus look or Genderless look, and is also the best characteristic of feminism makeup. Third, Cindy Sherman's feminism makeup characteristics had the characteristics of typistic femininity. She expresses her female identity through the image of a powerless and shabby woman by turning herself from a young movie star to an old woman. Fourth, Cindy Sherman's feminism makeup characteristics express the characteristics of detachment with ugly beauty. Such makeup is unstable in shape, and there are many distorted or modified images, but Cindy Sherman's selfies also showed this ugly look of herself. Fifth, Cindy Sherman's feminism makeup is bizarre and gives grotesque horror in the form of witches or vampires. Witches and vampires, who lack femininity, expressed feminism not in the image of women obedient to patriarchal men, but rather in horror. Sixth, Cindy Sherman's characteristic of feminism makeup is to portray herself as a clown or a clown, or a clown, to represent a caricature. Sherman's clown series is already well known for its makeup that shows feminism in women. The clown always smiles in the costume, but the inner figure symbolizes the repressed and sad woman herself and is an expression of Sherman's own image.

The assessment of personality traits is now a key part of many important social activities, such as job hunting, accident prevention in transportation, disease treatment, policing, and interpersonal interactions. In a previous study, we predicted personality based on positive images of college students. Although this method achieved a high accuracy, the reliance on positive images alone results in the loss of much personality-related information. Our new findings show that using real-life 2.5D static facial contour images, it is possible to make statistically significant predictions about a wider range of personality traits for both men and women. We address the objective of comprehensive understanding of a person’s personality traits by developing a multiperspective 2.5D hybrid personality-computing model to evaluate the potential correlation between static facial contour images and personality characteristics. Our experimental results show that the deep neural network trained by large labeled datasets can reliably predict people’s multidimensional personality characteristics through 2.5D static facial contour images, and the prediction accuracy is better than the previous method using 2D images.

Volume restoration is often required after parotidectomy due to the resultant facial contour deformity. Common procedures include local pedicled flaps, such as the sternocleidomastoid muscle flap, fat grafting, and even autologous free flaps, for more extensive defects. Local pedicled flaps have the advantage of a single surgical site, which spares the patient the added morbidity of a separate fat graft donor site, while simultaneously reducing the operative time. We report two cases of a novel reconstructive option using pedicled level I and II cervical lymphoadipose tissue for volume restoration after superficial parotidectomy. This reconstruction would be useful for patients with benign parotid lesions and inferior parotid defects. In addition, with maintained blood supply to this tissue, it would likely provide sustained bulk over time.

In this paper, we study the face recognition and emotion recognition algorithms to monitor the emotions of preschool children. For previous emotion recognition focusing on faces, we propose to obtain more comprehensive information from faces, gestures, and contexts. Using the deep learning approach, we design a more lightweight network structure to reduce the number of parameters and save computational resources. There are not only innovations in applications, but also algorithmic enhancements. And face annotation is performed on the dataset, while a hierarchical sampling method is designed to alleviate the data imbalance phenomenon that exists in the dataset. A new feature descriptor, called “oriented gradient histogram from three orthogonal planes,” is proposed to characterize facial appearance variations. A new efficient geometric feature is also proposed to capture facial contour variations, and the role of audio methods in emotion recognition is explored. Multifeature fusion can be used to optimally combine different features. The experimental results show that the method is very effective compared to other recent methods in dealing with facial expression recognition problems about videos in both laboratory-controlled environments and outdoor environments. The method performed experiments on expression detection in a facial expression database. The experimental results are compared with data from previous studies and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed new method.
