Abstract: This article addresses discourse analysis as analysis methodology in the field of Qualitative Research and Geography. Recognizing that the possibilities of analysis in qualitative studies comprise multiple-dimension questions (epistemological, theoretical and technical), this study is based on an ethnographic research in a territory where the predominant circulation is of men who have sex with other men in order to propose dialogues and problematizations on concepts and research practices that intersect references of discourse analysis, geography of sexuality and the practices of analysis in the context of qualitative research. The results point to the possibility of using discourse analysis to analyze the geographic space (its limits and possibilities) while reiterating the need for a reflection on the way analysis methodologies demand more consistent appropriations in the use of academic studies. Keywords: qualitative research, discourse analysis, territory, geography of sexuality.ANÁLISE DE DISCURSO EM PESQUISA QUALITATIVA: NOTAS DE UMA EXPERIÊNCIAS A PARTIR DE MICROTERRITORIALIDADES HOMOERÓTICASResumo: O artigo discute a análise de discurso como metodologia de análise no campo da Pesquisa Qualitativa e da Geografia. This paper presents the state-of-the-art on different moving least square (MLS)-based dimension decomposition schemes for reliability analysis and demonstrates a modified version for high fidelity applications. The aim is to improve the performance of MLS-based dimension decomposition in terms of accuracy, number of function evaluations and computational time for large-dimensional problems. With this in view, multiple finite difference high dimension model representation (HDMR) scheme is developed. This anchored decomposition is implemented starting from an initial reference point and progressively evolving in successive iterations. Most probable point (MPP) of failure is identified in every iteration and is used as the reference point for the next decomposition until it converges. Hermite polynomials in MLS framework are used between the support points for efficient interpolation. The support points are generated sequentially using multiple sparse grids based on the Clenshaw–Curtis scheme. Once the global response surface is constructed using the support points generated in each iteration, importance sampling is employed for reliability analysis. Six different benchmark problems are solved to show its performance vis-à-vis other methods. Finally, reliability-based design of a composite plate is demonstrated, clearly showing the advantage and superiority of the proposed improvements in MLS-based multiple dimension decomposition (MDD).

With the development of the Internet and the popularity of Big Data, recommender systems have become an indispensable field due to its excellent ability to solve the problem of information overload. The existing recommender system mainly uses collaborative filtering to make recommendation by mining the interaction relationship between users and items. In order to better analyze the interaction relationship between users and items, a hybrid recommender method based on multiple dimension attention analysis is proposed. The idea is to fuse the embedded vectors of users and items into mapping vectors (or matrices) of different shapes through different methods, and learn the interactive relationship between users and items through the neural network model with attention mechanism. Experimental results show that compared with traditional analytical methods, multiple dimension analysis can more comprehensively explore the interaction between users and items, and the attention mechanism can greatly improve the analytical ability of the model.

We investigate the role of context in the comprehension of competing semantic representations of sentences with aspectual verbs (AspVs). On the Structured Individual Hypothesis, AspVs select for structured individuals as their complement, construed as a directed axis along various dimensions. During comprehension, the verb’s lexical functions are exhaustively retrieved and the AspV+complement composition yields multiple mutually exclusive dimension representations, which are later constrained by context. Results from this eye-movement study show that AspV sentences engender additional processing cost independent of context. That is, while processing multiple dimension representations is costly, the exhaustive lexical retrieval and dimension composition are initially encapsulated from context.
