The objective of this research was to design, construct and evaluate a variable chipping clearance cassava chipper for processors which will produce uniform and varying cassava chip geometry for multipurpose usage. It consists of a drive shaft with varying chipping clearances (6, 18, and 28 mm) to produce varied chip geometry. The average throughput capacity of the chipper was found to be 475.5 kg·h–1 at a speed range of 460–800 rpm with a chipping clearance of 6–28 mm. The average chipping efficiency ranges from a minimum–maximum of 76.6–99.4% for the selected operational speeds and chipping clearances. The chipping capacity and the output to input ratio is dependent on the operational speeds and chipping clearances of the machine.

Learning independence is one of the important things in a learning process so that students have the responsibility to organize and discipline themselves, in addition to being able to develop learning abilities on their own accord. The problem that occurs at this time is the learning process that has been forced to be carried out at home through online learning, since the Covid 19 pandemic. The purpose of this research is to find out the online learning model of english in vocational high schools throughout the city of Surabaya during the pandemic and how high the influence of the level of independence is. students and the effect of learning models on learning outcomes of English learning at SMK Surabaya City during the pandemic. This research is quantitative research using a questionnaire for data collection. The population in this study were all English teachers in public and private vocational schools in the city of Surabaya as many as 278 people while the sample of this study was 74 people. The presentation of descriptive analysis in this study is the independent variable (X), the learning model variable (Y), and the learning outcome variable (Z). The results of the analysis in the study showed that the students' independence had an average of 2.93 which was included in the sufficient category. This means that the independence of SMK students throughout the city of Surabaya in learning English during the pandemic is quite good. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the learning model applied during the pandemic in English subjects was good with an average score of 3.15. The coefficient of the learning model variable from the regression analysis is known to be 0.556. This shows that the learning model has a positive effect on learning outcomes. The better the learning model, the higher the learning outcomes produced. The significance value obtained is 0.000, which means that the learning model has a significant effect on learning English outcomes at SMK in Surabaya City during the pandemic.

ABSTRACT<br />This study aims to analyze the influence of Leadership and Application of Fingerprint Attendance Model to Work Productivity With Work Discipline as Moderating Variable. In this research,  sampling method used is accidental sampling method (non-probability sampling). In this study using three variables, independent variables are Leadership (X1) and Attendance Model Fingerprint (X2) with dependent variable is Productivity (Y) and moderating variable is Discipline (Z). Population in this research is employees at PT. ASTRA Daihatsu Motor, and samples are 85 respondents. The result of the research shows that Leadership variable is not able to moderate to Work Productivity, Fingerprint Attendance Model variable has a significant effect on Work Productivity, Work Discipline variable also has a significant effect on Work Productivity, Leadership and Work Discipline is not able to moderate to Work Productivity, Fingerprint and Discipline Attendance Model Work is also not able to moderate against Work Productivity<br />Keywords: Leadership, Fingerprint Attendance Model, Work Productivity, and Work Discipline.

This study aim to proffer solution to the factors causing delay is pipeline construction project deliverables, it compared deterministic model (variable with certainty) and stochastic model (variable with uncertainty), with Six (6) planned project schedules of Brownfield Energy Service Limited for pipeline construction. Time assigned to critical activities, identified from a network analysis, with the aid of the Critical Path Method, expected mean time, both deterministic and stochastic duration was calculated. Program Evaluation Review Techniques (PERT), the variance and standard deviation of the critical activities were also calculated. The probability of completion of a project within a given period was gotten with PERT. Comparing the results for deterministic duration 60 days to 79 days, which is 50% compared to 64%. It was concluded that stochastic model is preferable when scheduling and executing pipeline construction projects, because uncertainties are factored into the planning and scheduling process including delays. Delays during execution stage, occurs mainly due to community related issues, equipment failures, change in job scope and work- men antics but not limited to these. This study advocates elimination of causes of delay, especially before and during project execution phase. It also suggested that every project schedule should follow an order of precedents, prerequisite, and management involvement and cooperation at all stages of the project

AbstractMotif identification is among the most classical and essential computational tasks for bioinformatics and genomics. Here we propose a novel convolution-based model, Variable CNN (vCNN), for effective motif identification in high-throughput omics data based on dynamic learning of kernel length. Multiple empirical evaluations well demonstrate vCNN’s superior performance in not only identification performance but also hyperparameter robustness. All source code and data are freely available on GitHub (https://github.com/gao-lab/vCNN) for academic usage.
