Introduction: Asava and arishta are medicinal preparations mentioned in Ayurvedic texts during which it undergoes a process of fermentation generating alcohol thus facilitating the extraction of the active principles contained in the drugs. Ashvagandhadyarishta is a type of arishta preparation where madhu (honey) is mentioned as madhura dravya (sweetening agent) in the formulation. So in this study an attempt is made to prepare Ashvagandhadyarishta in two batches by adding madhu as madhura dravya in one batch and guda (jaggery) as madhura dravya in another batch and to compare their organoleptic and analytical parameters. Materials and Methods: Study includes two batches of Ashvagandhadyarishta preparation followed the method as per Ayurvedic Formulary of India. Observations and Results: Analytical study of both the batches was done and their parameters were compared and analyzed including organoleptic features. Discussion: Both batches differ in the properties of final product as the sweetening agents used are different. Ashvagandhadyarishta containing guda as madhura dravya has greater values of analytical parameters comparatively, infers the influence of components present in guda. Conclusion: Change in the analytical and organoleptic characters were observed owing to the changes in the sweetening agents. Further research works has to be carried out to understand the clinical efficacy.

Vatsanabha is Vishavarga dravya mentioned in many of the Ayurveda Samhitas, which is commonly used in Ayurvedic medicinal preparations. It has a property of Jwarahara, Amaghna, Swedajana which is very useful in Jwara cases. The drugs like Parada, Gandhaka, Hingula along with Vatsanabha shows fast action on Jwara. In Ayurveda there are many formulations mentioned with Jwarahara properties. In this article we are studying about 17 Jwarahara Gutika yogas containing Vatsanabha which are mentioned in Sahasrayogam. Purpose of this study is to analyse these Yoga in the aspect of their ingredients, Bhavana dravya, Anupana, Sevana vidhi, and their role in management of Jwara. When we analysing each and every ingredients on these Yogas there are certain similarities in ingredients, Bhavana dravya, Anupana of these medicines. Most of these ingredients have Deepana Pachana karma, Katu Thikta rasa, Ushna veerya, Katu vipaka etc which are beneficial for Samprapti vighatana of Jwara. As Sahasrayogam is a compilation of popular formulations which are commonly used by ancient physicians of Kerala, it is assumed that all of this Yoga were once in practice. These formulations are to be kept in tablet form which is very convenient for their administration, palatability etc. But very few of them are available in market. In this current scenario of Covid pandemic Ayurveda field should rethink about these potent medicines of Jwara for the well being of our community, and further study and clinical trial also needed to know their action on Jwara.

The aim of the work is to generalize the literature data on indolocarbazole derivatives with an antitumor activity.Materials and methods. The objects of the study were the preparations based on indolocarbazole derivatives with the antitumor activity. To search for materials on the problem under study, the following search and information as well as library databases were used: ebibrary, PubMed, CyberLeninka, ResearchGate, the State Register of Medicines, clinical trials registries clinline.ru and clinicaltrials.gov. The search for the following words / phrases was performed: indolocarbazoles, indolocarbazole derivatives, staurosporine, rebeccamycin, staurosporine derivatives. The search was conducted from January 11 until March 1, 2021. The compounds with a biological activity which were undergoing or had undergone preclinical and clinical trials, were taken into account. All the materials from 1977 to January 1, 2021, were taken into account.Results. The materials obtained indicate that indolocarbazole derivatives are promising compounds for the creation of anticancer medicinal preparations due to their properties and peculiarities of the action mechanism. These drugs have a selective action due to the targeted interaction with specific molecular targets: kinases (especially protein kinase C and its isozymes), DNA and DNA topoisomerase. To date, many compounds from the class of indolocarbazoles have been synthesized and investigated. They have shown a high antitumor activity in the treatment of systemic and solid tumors. However, despite this, only one MP based on a staurosporine derivative, registered by the TN of Rydapt® (in the USA and EU countries) and Miticaid® (in the Russian Federation), is approved for use in the clinical practice.Conclusion. Thus, the basic data from scientific publications on promising anticancer medicinal preparations based on compounds from the class of indolocarbazoles, have been summarized. The information is provided, in particular, on their molecular structure, the origin, classification, the main representatives of the class, which are at various stages of the research and are approved for use in the clinic.

Rhodiola rosea L. rhizomes and roots are pharmacopoeial raw materials, which are used in official medicine for obtaining medicines with adaptogenic activity. One of the most common problems in the production of medicines from Rhodiola rosea L. rhizomes and roots is the use of poor quality medicinal plant materials, which leads to the absence of biologically significant compounds in the preparations. One of the possible reasons is the shortcomings in the existing approaches to the standardization of Rhodiola rosea L. raw materials and preparations. The aim of the study is the improvement of approaches to the standardization of medicinal preparations from Rhodiola rosea L. rhizomes and roots.Materials and methods. Experimental and industrial samples of liquid extract from Rhodiola rosea L. roots, as well as reference samples of rosavin and salidroside, were used as materials of the research. The HPLC analysis was carried out using a Milichrom-6 chromatograph (NPAO Nauchpribor) under the following conditions of reversed-phase chromatography in an isocratic mode: a steel column KAKH-6-80-4 (2 mm x 80 mm; Separon-C18 7 μm), a mobile phase – acetonitrile: 1% solution of acetic acid in water in the ratio of 14:86, the elution rate was 100 μL/min, the eluent volume was 2000 μL. The constituents were detected at the wavelength of 252 nm (rosavin) and 278 nm (salidroside).Results. An assay of rosavin and salidroside in the liquid extract of Rhodiola rosea L. was developed using the HPLC method. It was determined that the content of rosavin in the samples of the liquid extracts obtained from Rhodiola rosea L. rhizomes and roots of the pharmacopoeial quality, varied from 0.21%±0.03% to 0.32%±0.04%, salidroside – from 1.13% ±0.05% to 2.71%±0.12%, respectively. The results of statistical processing indicate that the relative error of the average result for the determination of rosavin and salidroside in the preparations of Rhodiola rosea L. with a confidence level of 95% does not exceed ±6.0%.Conclusion. Thus, methodological approaches to the analysis of medicinal preparations from Rhodiola rosea L. rhizomes and roots have been substantiated. These methodological approaches consist of the quantitative determination of the dominant and diagnostically significant biologically active compounds – rosavin and salidroside.
