Abstract Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL) is the largest gas transmission and distribution company in Bangladesh. The company undertook a pilot project in July 2005 to implement pre-paid metering on a limited scale. The outcomes of the pilot project are analyzed and presented in this paper. Most of the customers under the project appear to be indifferent to the new system. The revenue of TGTDCL was less compared to the same number of un-metered customers. The pilot project has a lack of design, planning, and implementation errors. Calculations are therefore made based on the assumed parameters. Clear and conclusive results regarding the reduction of gas wastage and financial benefits are hard to determine.

AbstractThis book has introduced two new (linked) models for greyfield precinct regeneration—place-activated and transit-activated GPR—with a new set of processes to enable them. The need for new design, planning, and engagement tools that must be integrated into all urban development is also seen as key to unlocking greyfield regeneration. Designs for such precincts have proliferated, but planning systems are still hindering their implementation, especially those systems related to land-assembly issues in the established, occupied middle greyfield suburbs. Planning must change, and a potential way ahead involves the planning processes demonstrated in this book. A first step involves district greenlining, which enables identification of strategic planning challenges and priorities for action at a district scale along a transit corridor (transit-activated GPR) or in precinct-scale areas in typical middle suburbs with high redevelopment potential (place-activated GPR). Their key attributes are gleaned from the previous chapters and summarised in this chapter. A final plea is made here for partnerships to be created from the engagement of all stakeholders: government, community and civil society, innovators, and developers. Greyfield Precinct Redevelopment Authorities established within state governments as part of a federal Better Cities 2.0 program could guide this transition.

Abstract Extreme drought and resulting low streamflows occur throughout the U.S., causing billions of dollars in annual losses, detrimentally impacting ecosystems, as well as agricultural, hydropower, navigation, water supply, recreation, and a myriad of other water resource systems, leading to reductions in both the effectiveness and resiliency of our water resource infrastructure. Since 1966, with the introduction of Bulletin 13 titled ‘Methods of Flow Frequency Analysis’, the U.S. adopted uniform guidelines for performing flood flow frequency analysis to ensure and enable all federal agencies concerned with water resource design, planning, and management under flood conditions to obtain sensible, consistent, and reproducible estimators of flood flow statistics. Remarkably, over one-half century later, no uniform national U.S. guidelines for hydrologic drought streamflow frequency analysis exist, and the various assorted guidelines that do exist are not reliable because (1) they are based on methods developed for floods, which are distinctly different than low streamflows and (2) the methods do not take advantage of the myriad of advances in flood and low streamflow frequency analyses over the last 50 years. We provide a justification for the need for developing national guidelines for streamflow drought frequency analysis as an analog to the existing national guidelines for flood frequency analysis. Those guidelines should result in improved water resources design, planning, operations, and management under low streamflow conditions throughout the U.S. and could prove useful elsewhere.

Abstract With the further development of society, my country’s industry has further affected the environmental ecology, making environmental degradation more and more serious. In recent years, more or less haze has appeared near various industrial sites, making the air more and more severe. Muddy, people’s lives cannot go on normally. Nowadays, people work indoors most of the time, so indoor environment and air quality will directly affect the health of the body. Therefore, it is very important to carry out research on indoor air quality monitoring, especially in offices, classrooms, shopping malls and other spaces. Closed and crowded places. There is a need for an indoor computer monitoring system that can grasp the environment of multiple rooms in the room in real time to achieve the purpose of monitoring and early warning. The purpose of this article is to study the development trend of computer monitoring technology optimization in interior design planning. This article through the in-depth study of computer monitoring technology, analysis of the current advanced computer monitoring core technology, combined with my country’s contemporary interior design planning environment, to discuss the development and application of computer technology in interior design planning. And through the research and analysis of these development applications to explore the necessity of upgrading my country’s indoor environmental monitoring system. This article will take the application of computer monitoring technology in interior planning and design as the research object and conduct research and analysis through literature method, questionnaire survey method and mathematical statistics method. Investigation and research show that Zigbee technology is used by most people. Compared with other wireless network computer monitoring technologies, ZigBee has better power, distance and convenience. The excellent application of computer monitoring technology in indoor planning and design makes it very good to monitor some indoor values in people’s lives.

Sales order documents at retail companies are a very important procedure in the project or work initialization process. However, the management of the sales order which is still done manually creates several problems in the process. This research will try to offer a solution by building a sales order management system that is developed by applying the Rational Unified Process (RUP) method. 4 stages in the RUP must be carried out, namely: the initial stage, the elaboration stage, the construction stage, and the transition stage. To reduce the risk of changes desired by the user, testing is carried out at the end of each phase. The results of this study have succeeded in building an SO management system where each feature designed is successfully implemented, which is indicated by the results of measuring the functional suitability of the system at each stage getting a value of 1.
