Dynamic Modelling and Advanced Process Control of Power Block for a Parabolic Trough Solar Power Plant

A fundamental task in the dynamic simulation of parabolic trough power plants (PTPP) is to understand the behavior of the system physics and control loops in the presence of weather variations. This study provides a detailed description of the advanced controllers used in the power block (PB) of a 50 MWel parabolic trough power plant (PTPP). The PB model is achieved using APROS software based on the actual specifications of the existing power plant. To verify the behaviour of the PB model, a comparison between the simulated results and given real data is documented depending on a previous study, and the results indicate a reasonable degree of correspondence. The purpose of this study is to create reference models for the PB. Thereby, developers and engineers will have a better understanding of the state of the art of advanced control loops in these power plants. Moreover, these types of models can be used to specify the most suitable mode of operation for the power plant. In addition, this study gives an overview of dynamic simulation for the design, optimisation and development of power blocks in parabolic trough power plants.

DEVELOPMENT OF VIRTUAL QUALITY ANALYZERS FOR THE ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEM OF THE REACTOR UNIT OF THE PENTANE HEXANE POLYMERIZATION UNIT

В данной статье рассматривается разработка виртуальных анализаторов качества для системы усовершенствованного управления технологическим процессом реакторного блока установки пентан гексановой изомеризации. Для этого были произведены вспомогательные вычисления, построены математические модели и реализация виртуальных анализаторов качества в программном продукте, представлены рисунки аппроксимации показаний с датчиков, наиболее влияющих на качество продукта. Продемонстрированы характеристики разработанных виртуальных анализаторов качества, результаты предварительного построения виртуальных анализаторов в программном обеспечении Honeywell. Приведено пошаговое тестирование, построение и отладка динамических моделей, конфигурация базового регулирования. Цель работы заключалась в анализе выгрузки данных с приборов исследуемого блока и на основе анализа данных построение регрессионных уравнений, необходимых для построения виртуальных анализаторов качества. В результате исследования были разработаны виртуальные анализаторы качества, предоставлены рисунки наложения данных модели на исторические данные приборов. This article discusses the development of virtual quality analyzers for the advanced process control system of the reactor unit of the pentane hexane isomerization unit. For this purpose, auxiliary calculations were made, mathematical models were built, and virtual quality analyzers were implemented in the software product. The characteristics of the developed virtual quality analyzers and the results of preliminary construction of virtual analyzers in the Honeywell software are demonstrated. Step-by-step testing, construction and debugging of dynamic models, configuration of basic regulation are given.

ADAPTIVE VIRTUAL ANALYZER IN ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL

В данной статье рассматривается разработка адаптивного виртуальногоанализаторов (ВА) показателей качества для проекта системы усовершенствованного управления Advanced Process Control (СУУТП, далее «APC»). Построение моделей ВА произведено с помощью регрессионных методов по параметрам, влияющих в наибольшей степени на выброс монооксида углерода, содержание кислорода в дымовых газах, температуры змеевика. В качестве метода оценки моделей предложен векторный критерий, определяющий значения ширины окна ВА с наиболее оптимальными значениями коэффициента детерминации и среднеквадратичной ошибкой. Интеграция моделей ВА в систему управления обеспечивает оптимизацию параметров работы с целью улучшения качественных и количественных показателей производимой продукции, а также позволяет существенно снизить затраты в области оборудования поточной аналитики. This article discusses the development of adaptive virtual analyzers (VA) of quality indicators for the project of the advanced control system Advanced Process Control (SUUTP, hereinafter referred to as "APC"). The construction of VA models was carried out using regression methods for the parameters that affect to the greatest extent the emission of carbon monoxide, the oxygen content in the flue gases, and the coil temperature. As a method for evaluating models, a vector criterion is proposed that determines the values ​​of the VA window width with the most optimal values ​​of the determination coefficient and the root-mean-square error. Integration of VA models into the control system ensures optimization of operating parameters in order to improve the qualitative and quantitative indicators of manufactured products, as well as significantly reduce costs in the field of flow analytics equipment.
