Significance This marks the highest-ranking combat casualty suffered by the Nigerian army to date and is part of a series of recent ISWAP attacks as the group transitions into another fighting season following the end of the rainy season. Impacts The military will soon look to launch another major operation into ISWAP-held territory. Absent more robust and flexible ground capabilities, newly delivered A-29 Super Tucano aircraft will have limited effect against ISWAP. Humanitarian services will be confronted by increasing risks.

Significance These will be the third polls under President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. As for the two previous votes -- the November 2020 constitutional referendum and the June 2021 legislative election -- participation in the local elections is likely to be poor. Such low voter turnout is progressively eroding the government’s legitimacy. Impacts The military leadership may blame Tebboune for overseeing three failed elections and could further marginalise him from decision-making. Tebboune will remain president, but he and his cabinet may increasingly be managed by the Ministry of Defence. Khaled Nezzar, the architect of the 1991 coup, has been rehabilitated, which appears to be influencing military strategy.

The era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 military power became one of the important elements because technological developments have changed the entire order of military strategy. One of them is the development of military equipment technology part of weaponry. As is known, often Indonesia army soldiers conduct shooting exercises to defend the Nation and the Unitary State of the Indonesian People (NKRI). With the shooting training there is a lot of waste from bullet cladding. Bullet cladding or patrun is an object that is a container that wraps around a bullet projectile and consists of propellant (gunpowder), rim, and primer. Bullets/munitions after firing can still be recycled back into active munitions. In accordance with the purpose of this study, researchers modified a cladding machine in order toimprove the performance of thetool effectively than before. The research methods used are a combination of experimental and empirical manual calculations to determine the relevant results. The result destruction can cut 3 grains of cladding even more in everyone round of the cutting blade, so this study modified the transmission system, fixed clutch, shaft, straight gear. The transmission uses a1:60 wpa gearbox ratio, with an electric motor drive power of 1.5 kW/ 2 HP, 1450 r / min, using a flange type clutch.

Abstract This article examines how a religious cultural paradigm deriving from the Humanism of the West affects the modern art and science of War. It was in the framework of a religified Humanism, in which man ‘stole’ God’s capabilities and properties, that the worldview of man-god was created. This worldview permeated the development of military strategy, thereby facilitating its transformation in the worldview of a commander-god; this is the same worldview which today threatens to reach extremes, assisted by technological evolution allowing the development of robust C4ISR networks Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance. The acronym today is C5ISR, with the addition of Combat Systems. interconnected with precision guided munitions (PGMs) of various configurations. The article then examines the influence of Western intellectualism, which is a basic element of Western Christianity, over the development of modern theories and perceptions on military strategy and the risks that can arise for future Western armies from this impact. As an antidote to this influence, the article suggests a new perception on military strategy which emphasises adaptability and flexibility and is based on a cultural paradigm from the Orthodox Christian Faith.

This chapter examines two of the most famous grand strategies with origins in Asia, identified with Sun Tzu and Gandhi. On the surface they would appear to be unfit for comparison. While Sun Tzu belongs to a tradition of military strategy, and is now part of the classical canon, Gandhi is identified with the nonviolent strategy of nonstate actors. The intention in examining the two together is to explore a family resemblance in their respective conceptions of grand strategy, even while recognizing that they are very distinct. After setting out some broad contrasts regarding cosmology, ontology, and epistemology, the chapter zooms in on the relevance of these points more specifically for understanding Sun Tzu or Gandhi. It concludes with some reflections on why the contrasts are important in a globalizing world. Both cases highlight the importance, if possible, of achieving objectives without recourse to military force, which, it argues, arises from a relational cosmology, where harmony and diversity coexist, and in which truth is not uniform but multiperspectival.

Human factors/ergonomics is an applied discipline. As such, we question whether students are adequately prepared if they are not learning, at least in part, from instructors who have real-world experience applying human factors/ergonomics knowledge to practical design problems. A wide variety of other disciplines such as medicine, the building trades, clinical psychology, military strategy, aviation, and the visual and performing arts have all faced this question and come up with educational approaches that typically include educators who are highly skilled in the practice of the discipline. Terms such as practitioner-scholar and scientist-practitioner, and the apprentice models all reflect this notion of students learning from highly skilled, knowledgeable, and practiced professionals in their disciplines. Is it time for human factors/ergonomics education to adopt such a model?
