PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the sport shoe with the marketing areas inside and outside the country. One of the products produced by PT. XYZ is running shoes. The problems faced by the company is not achieving the production targets because many value-added activity not belonging to the waste (waste). For that use lean manufacturing approach to eliminate waste that occurs on in the production line at PT. XYZ. Lean manufacturing methods used is values stream mapping (VSM) to analyze the dominant waste in the manufacturing process. Based on the analysis we found three recommendations for improvement, namely the use of a forklift, the addition operator and addition of machine. Results of evaluation of recommendation is decreased production lead time equal to 8610.62 sec, increasing the value of Process Cycle Efficiency of 21.08%.

Purpose This paper aims to provide a quantitative basis to analytically determine the ranking of the brand personality of Adidas, Asics, Nike, Puma and Saucony brands among Iranian customers via a conventional multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method. Design/methodology/approach Data for determining the importance of evaluation criteria and ranking of brands are gathered by means of distributing questionnaires among a group of Iranian customers of sport shoes, as well as some industrial experts. The fuzzy analytic network process (FANP) was used to rank the brands with regard to dependencies between criteria and alternatives. Findings The results indicate that FANP is a capable method which provides invaluable insights for strategic marketing decisions in the sport product industry. Results show Adidas has the best performance in the sports shoe market compared to the other four brands. In this study, it was found that expertise sophistication was the most important criterion among Aaker’s five main criteria. Originality/value The value of this paper is applying FANP decision-making method for ranking sport shoe brands. This method has not been commonly used in the area of marketing, hence it is added to the pool of techniques used in ranking brands. In addition, evaluation and ranking of brands can be very useful for both academic research and practice. Researchers can benchmark the competences of each brand through evaluating them, and industrialists can extract the competitive advantages of the selected brands.

The study of waste tires powder processing as a filler on making shoe sole has been done. On the research, it has been found the vulcanizate technical on natural rubber of shoe sole by using waste tires powder and was compound to the tecto the technical specification of shoe sole according to Indonesia Natural Standard. The process of making waste tires powder triller 60 mesh particle size has been done by steps of procces, producing of particle size, washing, drying and screening. The vulcanizate of natural rubber shoe sole wich contained waste tires powder and using press molding technical at 1800 for 4,50 minutes. The result of the research showed that the vulcanizate of shoe sole natural rubber containing waste tires powder triller 60 mesh could be used to manufacturing sport shoe sole because its vulcanizate had enough technical process accoording to Indonesia National Standard 06-1844-199 Ed 1.2

For this decade, nanocomposite has received huge interest from over a thousand of researchers due to its outstanding properties in wide applications. Nanocomposite of sole shoes has become new development in sport shoes application while no interest from others has been reported. The purpose of this study is mainly to produce prototype and characterize flexing mechanism of nanocomposite outsole. The materials used for the outsole protoype were polymer matrix of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) at ratio of 70:30 by wt% was added by 3 wt% of CNT nanofiller. The HDPE/EPR-CNT nanocomposites were prepared via single melt blending by using internal mixer and then compression moulded into outsole shape. The outsole was then gone through electron beam (EB) radiation at 100 kGy/s. The flexibility of unradiated and radiated nanocomposite outsole were tested by flexing test according to SATRA TM161 and ISO-17707 standard and fractography of the nanocomposite outsole was observed visually. EB radiated nanocomposite show high properties which suggesting that greater count number in flexing test and less void was observed compared to the unradiated nanocomposite.
