Background and Objectives: Mutual effect of the preliminary and therapeutic intranasal treatment of SD rats with DSIP (8 days) on the outcome of focal stroke, induced with intraluminal middle cerebral occlusion (MCAO), was investigated. Materials and Methods: The groups were the following: MCAO + vehicle, MCAO + DSIP, and SHAM-operated. DSIP or vehicle was applied nasally 60 (±15) minutes prior to the occlusion and for 7 days after reperfusion at dose 120 µg/kg. The battery of behavioral tests was performed on 1, 3, 7, 14, and 21 days after MCAO. Motor coordination and balance and bilateral asymmetry were tested. At the end of the study, animals were euthanized, and their brains were perfused, serial cryoslices were made, and infarction volume in them was calculated. Results: Although brain infarction in DSIP-treated animals was smaller than in vehicle-treated animals, the difference was not significant. However, motor performance in the rotarod test significantly recovered in DSIP-treated animals. Conclusions: Intranasal administration of DSIP in the course of 8 days leads to accelerated recovery of motor functions.

Abstract Introduction COVID-19 has proven to be a novel virus with significant complications to an expanding number of body systems. Hallmark characteristics of COVID-19 include substantial inflammatory response which has been linked to sleep dysregulation in previous studies. We examined the change in sleep quality after acute COVID-19 infections requiring hospitalization. Methods We performed a retrospective, single-center observational study of 20 patients with acute COVID-19 infection requiring hospitalization. Eligible patients were contacted and completed telephone surveys of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) prior to and 1 month after hospital discharge. A score of ≥5 was indicative of poor sleep quality. Secondary data were collected from EMR. Results The mean PSQI prior to COVID-19 infection was 6.1, worsening to 10.3 one month after acute infection, denoting a delta-PSQI of 4.2 (p = 0.0004). There were noted statistically significant differences in certain components of the PSQI including: subjective sleep quality 0.8 to 1.7 (delta 0.9, p = 0.0003), sleep latency 1.25 to 1.85 (delta 0.6, p = 0.03), sleep disturbance 1.05 to 1.5 (delta 0.45, p = 0.0009), and daytime dysfunction 0.3 to 1.45 (delta 1.15, p = 0.0005). Sleep latency and daytime dysfunction accounted for the most change. Two groups declared themselves with 6 of the 20 patients having improvement/no change in PSQI, and 14 having worsening. Between these groups certain differences were seen including: Pre-infection PSQI 9.67 vs 4.57 (p = 0.009), delta global PSQI -0.83 vs 6.36 (p < 0.001), delta subjective sleep quality 0.17 vs 1.2 (p = 0.002), delta sleep latency -0.3 vs 1 (p = 0.01), delta sleep duration -0.3 vs 0.93 (p = 0.02), delta sleep efficiency -0.3 vs 0.71 (p = 0.02), and delta daytime dysfunction 0.17 vs 1.57 (p = 0.006). Conclusion In our study of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 infection specific components of sleep were different following infection. Sleep latency and daytime dysfunction contributed the most to PSQI change. Two groups declared themselves based on PSQI improvement vs worsening. Those with poor sleep prior to infection continued to have poor sleep, while those without prior sleep troubles developed worsened sleep quality. Support (if any):

An analytical strategy based on matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometry (MS) for identification of peptides and proteins in illegally distributed products is presented. The identified compounds include human growth hormone (hGH), human somatoliberin, anti-obesity drug (AOD), growth hormone releasing peptides (GHRP-2 and GHRP-6), Glycine-GHRP-2 and Glycine-GHRP-6, ipamorelin, insulin aspart and porcine, delta sleep-inducing peptide (DSIP), thymosin β4, insulin like growth factor (IGF), mechano growth factor (MGF), human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), melanotan II, bremelanotide, dermorphin and body protecting compound (BPC 157). The identification of proteins was mainly based on peptide mass fingerprinting, i.e., bottom up approach, while the smaller peptides were identified through de-novo sequencing. In cases when a reference standard was available, complementary identification was performed by capillary electrophoresis in double-injection mode (DICE), where a suspicious product was compared with the reference standard through two consecutive injections within the same electrophoretic run.

Abstract:The need for a trail map to world peace, is a map to reversibility and non-lethality, a long-distance deployment of EMI based delta sleep-inducing armament, a dual-use technology, with health benefits and use in stupor management in proposed space travel. In this paper, we present an improvement over much-published attempts at missile shields, deployable around the world. Truck launch ICBMs and shorter-range missiles and motors for light payloads, allow for a dual-use to space payloads and a mechanism at deploying missile-based defense mechanisms at short notice, from any location in the world, a defense shield mechanism. The trail to reversibility is in the induction of EMI based payloads, for non-casualty based warfare, completely eliminating the possibility of civilian casualties. A case study of the use of tesla semi-trucks and H2-O2 based blue Shepard motors for truck launch ICBMs is presented as a low carbon footprint solution for both shields and for space payloads. Keywords: ICBM, missile shields, EMI weapons, Delta sleep, reversibility, Peace Weapons(™), Tesla Semi, Blue Shepard. What:Reversibility is central to non -lethal and reversible disruption in conflicts, as internal conflicts are projected across political boundaries, in a need for large scale strike capabilities and EMI payloads. Present propulsion technology for dual-use, including lightweight motors by Blue Origin, includes solutions for redeployable vehicles, launchable from Tesla Trucks, under short notice from favorable locations, in a stealth mode. This publication proves the use of sleep EMI over wide areas, with a higher impact than wide-area drone use. A case study from World War II is presented, in the use of nuclear arsenal over Hiroshima and Nagasaki for negotiations to a Japanese early surrender, a case for the use of sleep-inducing EMI weapons with the same scale as disarmament and reversible disruption, with the same potential for the negotiation of early surrender of Imperialist Japanese forces is presented as an alternative solution towards zero civilian casualties.How:Dual-use delta sleep technology is the future of space travel, in the design of sleep schedules in the habitation of space stations and space transit carriers, with traditional dual-use motors for launch. The discrete nature of the space travel and possible stealth use of non-lethal weapons on intercontinental scales, calls for lightweight propulsion which has a very low carbon footprint in the use of reusable technologies like Blue Origins hydrogen-oxygen motors and Tesla electric trucks. The dual-use leads to the use of sleep technology for both small areas and very wide area technologies in digital medicine and in armament. Why:The evolution of human conflict is sculpted by much of the helpless spectators in the battles of internal conflicts, as aspecism is proven, the superiority of the flora and fauna in creation is proven in the evolution of armament towards EMI weaponry, with non-lethal applications and disruption of only human development. In this path of self annihilation, is a solution of peace diplomacy as presented by nature itself, a path to reversibility and non lethality, with a wide applicability, a scalable ballistic and drone-based payload, tailored to both flatland and global civilizations, in their quest for an early resolution to their conflict , both external and internal.Summary:Main Points:Use of off the shelf technology for shields and dual-use space payloads.Case study of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings as the need for reversibility and non-lethality in saving over 200,000 civilian lives.Attainment of the separation of civilian and military casualties and the attainment of a zero civilian casualty figure in military conflicts.

Abstract:A key addition to the series of papers on non - lethal and reversible weapons, as a trail to peace, creating confidence through technocracy, this paper is on the design of linear light pollution monitoring satellites for combating the ugly menace of night sky pollution and towards PID roles in the creation of DSS support based on SaaS services for precision use of EMI based sleep inducing payloads in very light drones, potentially replacing inaccurate drone bombing. Keywords: PID systems, GIS, Cognitive Geography, Panoptic segmentation, Mapillary, DSS systems, SaaS, EMI Delta Sleep,LiFi, Integration filters(™).What: A dual use technology based on SaaS computing to map point sources of light pollution on the surface of the Earth with filters to distinguish stationary and moving sources. Dual use of this technology in remedying light pollution of the night sky for minimal circadian rhythm disruption and allied health disorders, and in the creation of filters for PID systems , useful in use cases, of anti insurgency strategy, with sleep weapon EMI integration as drone payloads.(Bheemaiah, n.d.)How:Light pollution is mapped using a cubesat imaging system originally developed for LiFi last mile connectivity from street lamps for 6G networking, but instead adopted on the trail-map to peace as a Peace Weapon(™) in anti insurgency strategy. Why:PID systems using moving light sources are critical in detecting insurgency across the pakistan India border, the LOC can be monitored using the above cubesat for confidence building measures as a PID system, to deter infiltration by subversives, preventing expensive disruption by infiltration of sabotage minded subversives.(“[No Title]” n.d.), Similar conflicts calling for peaceful resolution by reversible lethality is called for in technocracy, an apolitical far right strategy towards lasting peace, as endowed by K.O.D(™) or the King Of Doves(™), a symbol of peace.

In clinical practice, the treatment of sleep disturbance in the setting of chronic pain can be challenging. In the case presented, a patient with a longstanding history of insomnia, chronic pain, and psychiatric comorbidity was recently assessed and treated for mild obstructive sleep apnea. With treatment, there was substantial clinical improvement in several areas of functioning. This helps to illustrate that addressing coexisting sleep problems can help more refractory symptoms, such as chronic pain. While severe impairment persisted, this complex patient had a rapid change in symptoms. The dynamic interplay between sleep, pain, and psychiatric disorders is discussed, as well as the finding of alpha intrusions and alpha-delta sleep on the patient’s polysomnogram. Treatment implications are addressed.
