Goal. Synthesis and study of the effect of the inhibitory component – sterically complicated acenaphthene compounds – on the effectiveness of the protective composition to prevent corrosion of metal products during the period of temporary preservation.Method. Coke-chemical acenaphthylene was isolated from the absorbing and anthracene fractions of coal tar, the bromination of which led to 1,2-dibromocenaphthene. Subsequent alkylation of azine bases with 1,2-dibromacenaphthene yielded a number of sterically complex acenaphthene compounds. In the conditions of simulation aggressiveness of NSS environment the influence of synthesized additives on efficiency of anticorrosive composition is investigated (ISO 9227:2017). Research methods: chromatography, synthesis, elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, corrosion tests.Results. On the basis of low-demand, available and inexpensive components of coke production, a number of substances with high anti-corrosion properties were synthesized – Quaternary azine salts with acenaphthene fragment. It was determined that the greatest resistance to the destructive effects of corrosive NSS environment according to the results of accelerated atmospheric corrosion tests was demonstrated by a composite coating containing an inhibitory additive – 1-(2-bromo-1,2-dihydroacenaphthylen-1-yl) quinoline bromide. The dominant role of the structure of the inhibitory additive on the manifestation of anticorrosive properties of the protective composition is shown. The influence of the ratio of components of paints and varnishes on their technological and anti-corrosion properties has been studied. The obtained results allow to create a new formulation of the domestic competitive protective composition to prevent corrosion of the metal for the period of temporary preservation.Scientific novelty. The role of 1,2-dibromacenaphthene as a promising alkylating agent in the synthesis of inhibitory additives - sterically complicated acenaphthene compounds has been determined.Practical significance. The optimal content of inhibitory components – Quaternary azine salts with acenaphthene fragment – for the development of a formulation of an effective anti-corrosion composition for the period of temporary preservation of metal products.

Abstract The percentage of wooden buildings damaged or even lost due to the lack or insufficient technical measures for their preservation is growing every year. This fact makes it mandatory to treat the surface of wood building materials with protective and decorative agents. Within the framework of this study, a multifunctional protective composition for wood was developed that can increase its physical and mechanical properties. Modification of the wood surface with organomineral compositions leads to an increase in its density, hardness and strength. The hardness of the treated wood is 24% higher and the compressive strength along the fiber is 20% higher than that of untreated wood. After treatment, the surface of the wood darkened and slightly yellowed, which does not prevent its use in the construction and reconstruction of buildings. The results of measuring the color coordinates of the surface of the modified samples indicate the stability and durability of the developed protective coating even after 4 months of exposure to atmospheric conditions. Judging by the slight return of the color coordinates of the treated wood back to values of the original wood, it can be concluded that the composition is partially washed out.

Currently, much attention is paid to the protective treatment of wood materials. This allows you to protect wood from adverse factors and extend the service life of products based on it. At the same time, not a little, an important criterion is the ratio of the price of the protective composition and its quality. The article discusses the possibility of using an oligomer for the protective treatment of natural wood, obtained on the basis of by-products of the production of polybutadiene and modified with secondary polystyrene. Considering the fact that this waste has not found its application, its use makes it possible to obtain not only valuable and affordable compositions based on it, but also to solve a number of environmental problems. For the modification, an oligomer with a bound styrene content of about 50% was used. The process was carried out at 200°C in the presence of a desiccant. At high temperatures and in the presence of atmospheric oxygen, destruction of both oligomer and secondary polystyrene occurs. The resulting destruction products interact with each other with the formation of new macromolecules containing an increased amount of styrene groups and the appearance of functional groups containing oxygen in the polymer chains. Protective treatment of natural wood with the obtained impregnating compounds allows to reduce water absorption and swelling of birch samples. This treatment allows you to extend the life of wood products.

The article presents the results of full-scale comparative tests of various protective compositions, for which the Movil car preservative, Litol-24 grease, PVC grease, K-17 preservation oil, experimental preservation compound (EKS-1) were used. The objects of conservation are steel plates of grades U8, 65G, 45, 40X, and St3. After the tests, etching, weighing, measuring the surface roughness of the samples were performed, and metal losses were determined. Tests of EKS-1 show protective efficacy comparable to that of greases, and in some cases, it significantly exceeds it. It is proved that the area of corrosion and metal loss during the test of the composition on these materials was not more than 4.7 % and 5.3 g/m2 per year, respectively. The research results show that the use of the protective composition EKS-1, due to its manufacturability, significantly reduces the complexity of work during the conservation of agricultural machinery, as well as ensures the protection of metal products during both short-term and long-term storage.
