Floods on large rivers and torrential floods are the most common natural disasters in the Republic of Serbia. Floods on rivers are natural phenomena that go far beyond the framework of water management and hydro-technical measures. Given the distribution of hilly and mountainous areas in the Republic of Serbia and the developed hydrographic network, torrential floods occur very often, almost every year. Torrential floods and soil erosion are inseparable natural phenomena that shaped the relief long before the appearance of living beings on Earth. Erosion processes are difficult to notice and slow and are most often noticed only when large areas are exposed, and then the problem of erosion becomes a difficult-to-solve or unsolvable problem. For the classification of erosion processes in the Republic of Serbia, the EPM method (erosion potential method) is used, which classifies erosion into five categories that have their own quantitative characteristics.

The growing use of electronic devices along with the anxiety resulting from the COVID19 pandemic set the ground for cybercriminals to take advantage of a larger number of victims and undertake their massive phishing campaigns. Technical measures are widely developed, and the human factor is still the weakest link in the chain. Whilst existing literature suggests that the effect of neuroticism, as one of the Big-Five personality traits, might play an important role in human behaviour in the phishing context, results do not provide uniform outcomes with regards to the influence of this trait in phishing victimisation. With the aim to analyse those results, this article provides a synthesis of the studies aimed at improving the understanding of this trait, and collects evidence that the small samples size used in most of the studies along with their lack of uniformity are behind the contradictory conclusions found on the role of neuroticism and human susceptibility to phishing attacks.

This article reveals the information on rearing houses for silkworms. It has been observed that the larger the size of silkworm rearing houses, the more difficult it is to maintain a comfortable temperature, relative humidity and other environmental factors, and as a result, the development of silkworms, cocoon spinning processes vary, and the process implementation of agro-technical measures is disrupted. As consequently, scientifically based data show that the viability of industrial cocoons was 14.5-24.5%, and the duration of the larval period was 2-8 days.

Introduction. The purpose of the article is to determine the specifics of the Byzantine war strategy in Asia Minor. A qualitative military and political characteristics of the main military expeditions to the eastern borders are crucial for the disclosure of this problem. From this aspect, the study addresses the following issues: defining of the role of the eastern military campaigns in the complex of military-strategic measures on the state scale; characteristics of the features the armed forces used, as well as the tasks solved during military expeditions to Asia Minor; disclosure of the features of military-technical measures to ensure the security of Byzantium eastern borders. Methods. Critical use of elements of civilizational, formational and systemic approaches is the methodological basis of this study. It should be noted that the use of a systematic approach in the analysis of the Byzantine troops combat practice in east direction, allows to determine the strategic objectives of military expeditions in Asia Minor, to reveal the logic of warfare in the eastern theater, to determine the functional purpose of military-technical measures. Analysis and Results. The study reveals the strategic concept of Byzantium armed forces military operations during the reign of the first Palaeologus on the Asia Minor territory. Analysis of combat practice allows us to conclude that the strategic priority of the western and northwestern directions, which required the use of the most combat-ready troops consisting of mercenaries during the reign of Michael VIII, determined the need to use the Byzantine troops at the eastern borders of the empire. TheByzantine army was episodically involved in major defensive expeditions to the borders of the empire. We determined that the purpose of these campaigns is to stop the advance of enemy armies and their subsequent expulsion from the empire. This logic of military operations does not mean the loss of strategic initiative at the eastern direction. The strategy of passive defense which determined the nature of the military confrontation in the Asia Minor region was ensured by the creation of a garrison system, or a line of fortresses, on the eastern borders of the empire. Fortification activities of Michael VIII and Andronikos II in 1280–1282 temporarily stopped the advance of the Turkish troops. However, natural factors and the intensification of the economic crisis at the end of the 13th century made it impossible to preserve the defensive line located along the banks of the rivers that served as the borders of the Byzantine state. In addition, the strengthening of the military-political power of the emirates of Menteşe, Aydinoglu and Osman led to the loss of the initiative by the Byzantine troops and, as a result, the reduction of the Asia Minor territories of the empire. In an effort to change the situation, Andronicus II proceeded to implement an active defense strategy.

In the international practice of developing hydrocarbon fields, one of the most common methods of influencing the bottomhole formation zone to stimulate the inflow is acid treatment. Despite the significant accumulated experience, subsoil users increasingly face with a decrease in planned and actual increases in production rates after this type of measures, which is due to both the deterioration of the resource base and the adoption of erroneous decisions during their design. It is necessary to scientifically substantiate the design of acid treatments, taking into account individual well conditions and a preliminary assessment of their effectiveness to reduce technological and economic risks. This study presents a method for predicting the result of acid stimulation on the formation based on multivariate regression analysis and laboratory studies on rock samples. Its approbation was carried out on the example of a carbonate production facility of an oil field in the Perm Krai. The obtained statistical dependencies made it possible to determine with high accuracy the potential success of the planned geological and technical measures, to give recommendations on their adjustment to achieve the target indicators. In the course of laboratory experiments, the optimal technological parameters of the impact were identified: the prospects of multi-volume acid treatments were established with the exclusion of the stage of acid aging for the reaction. The integration of the results of mathematical and physical modeling made it possible to select the required design of acid treatments in relation to the considered geological and physical conditions and assess their expected technological efficiency. The developed technique can be used to rank candidate wells, form and adjust targeted programs for geological and technical measures for short and long term periods, and determine the stimulation technology. The described algorithm can be successfully replicated to other fields.

Abstract An approach to dynamic modeling of the predicted trajectory of movement of a displacement vessel and its continuous visualization on an electronic panel is considered, superimposed on the actual digital twin of the real scene of the environment along the course of the vessel. The hardware and software implementation of the developed approach as a decision support system for the navigator in the form of a standard option of the integrated control panel located in the wheelhouse provides an opportunity to objectively assess the safe distance to potential navigation obstacles within the ship’s course at the free distance of the vessel by means of combined visualization. As part of the organizational and technical measures to ensure the safety of navigation, the proposed innovative approach to continuous joint visualization of the digital twin of the current scene of the surrounding sailing situation and the predicted trajectory of the vessel’s movement acquires significant importance in the operation of automatic vessels as an option for the supervisor to intervene in the operation of an integrated automatic control system in complex navigating conditions.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to present the possibility of revitalizing the disappearing wetland of Céne in eastern Slovakia. Due to climate change and anthropogenic interventions in the natural landscape, natural habitats are currently extinct. Wetlands are one such habitat, of which the Céne wetland is a very good example. Wetland Céne is a place of occurrence of rare species of fauna and flora. The paper proposes and evaluates the method of revitalization of the wetland by subsidizing the water in the wetland from the river Tisa through the proposed dam culvert. The paper also evaluates the technical measures that need to be implemented and the economic aspects of this solution.

Abstract The results of studies of the noise of power transformers at the enterprises of the machine-building complex are presented in this paper. The causes of the noise of power transformers are identified, the analysis is made, and the main design indicators affected the increase in the sound power level of high-voltage converters are determined. Based on the analysis of design indicators, organizational and technical measures are proposed for improving reliability and accident-free operation of power transformers, as well as reduction of the noise level of power transformers.
