Due to the simple structure of DC motors, the natural decoupling between torque and speed, and its low cost the DC motors have been widely used in electromechanical systems, the paper deals with the experimental method of DC motor Coulomb friction identification that caused the dead nonlinear zone and proposed a nonlinear model of the DC motor, then a sliding mode strategy is developed to control the DC motor in high and low speed for bidirectional operation, The experimental implementation using Dspace 1104 demonstrate that the proposed sliding mode control can achieve favorable tracking performance against non-linearities for a DC motor.

The simulation and implementation of a sliding mode control strategy for a single-phase dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) to mitigate load voltage sag swell and harmonics is presented in this work. The control strategy's goal is to compensate for the required voltage by regulating the DVR's voltage via an injection transformer while keeping the load voltage constant. The ability of the DVR to achieve a good performance greatly depends on its control strategy. The controller used in this work is based on SMC theory, which consists of creating a passivation output and a storage function to use as a function of Lyapunov. The proposed control scheme of the DVR is initially evaluated in simulations using MATLAB and validated using a laboratory-scale prototype of the entire system, including a source, the DVR circuit and a load. The control scheme is implemented on a dSPACE 1104 board and the MATLAB real-time toolbox. Both the experimental results have demonstrated the effectiveness the proposed control strategy of DVR in mitigating power qualities issues and therefore enhancing the performance of the network.

<p><span>The study made in this paper concerns the use of the voltage-oriented control (VOC) of three-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifier with constant switching frequency. This control method, called voltage-oriented controlwith space vector modulation (VOC-SVM). The proposed control scheme has been founded on the transformation between stationary (α-β) and and synchronously rotating (d-q) coordinate system, it is based on two cascaded control loops so that a fast inner loop controls the grid current and an external loop DC-link voltage, while the DC-bus voltage is maintained at the desired level and ansured the unity power factor operation. So, the stable state performance and robustness against the load’s disturbance of PWM rectifiers are boths improved. The proposed scheme has been implemented and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The control system of the VOC-SVM strategy has been built based on dSPACE system with DS1104 controller board. The results obtained show the validity of the model and its control method. Compared with the conventional SPWM method, the VOC-SVM ensures high performance and fast transient response.</span></p>

This paper presents simulation and experimental results of anti-windup PI controller to improve induction machine speed control based on direct torque control (DTC) strategy. Problems like rollover can arise in conventional PI controller due to saturation effect. In order to avoid such problems anti-windup PI controller is presented. This controller is simple for implementation in practice. The proposed anti-windup PI controller demonstrates better dynamic step changes response in speed in terms of overshoots. All simulation work was done using Simulink in the MATLAB software. The experimental results were obtained by practical implementation on a dSPACE 1104 board for a 1.5 KW induction machine. Simulation and experimental results have proven a good performance and verified the validity of the presented control strategy.

In industrial electric drive systems, it is common to find objects that need to solve the problem of angular position control, moving the object from one position to another asymptotically with no over-correction and guarantee. calculation of maximum fast impact. This is a multi-target optimization problem with many different solutions. This paper presents a method of constructing a PMSM motor position controller with a variable structure using dSPACE 1104 card. The system consists of a position control loop with a variable structure that is an outer loop and a speed control loop degree is the inner loop. In which, the speed adjustment loop uses adaptive law to compensate for uncertain functions and build a sliding mode observation to estimate load torque, friction and noise. The results of the simulation study were verified on Matlab-Simulink environment and experimented on dSPACE 1104 card to check the correctness of the built controller algorithm. The research results in the paper are the basis for the evaluation and setting up of control algorithms, design of electric drive systems in industry and the military.

In this paper, we present our contribution in Induction Machine control field. The control we designed is based on fuzzy logic theory, this choice is motivated by the fact that this technique of control is suitable for the control of systems characterized by its parameters uncertainties and variations. The proposed control is optimized by using a genetic algorithm for fuzzy logic controller (FLC) gains tuning and by a good choice of calculation techniques used in FLC. Three versions of IM fuzzy logic control were validated by simulation. After that in order to be able to experimentally implement this control on dSPACE-1104, we proposed an optimized and reduced structure of the control. The experimental results proof the effectiveness and the satisfied performance of the proposed IM fuzzy control.

In this paper, a high-frequency AC-link DC–AC converter is presented with detailed analysis. This converter is used as an interface between a dc power source and a grid. The studied converter is a universal power converter which consists of two bridges separated by an AC-link; each bridge is connected to a source or it feeds a load. The link of this converter contains a parallel pair inductance-capacitor. The inductance is used to stock/supply energy and for the link capacitor, it allows to perform soft switching during turning on/turning off of the switches. The studied converter has considerable advantages compared to the other topologies. Its fundamental properties are, especially, the compactness, reliability and efficiency which it ensures. Also, it guarantees longer lifetime and the possibility to transfer power in the two power flow directions. In this talk, the principles of the ac-link inverter operation are clearly explained in this paper. Simulation results, under MATLAB/SIMULINK, are shown to validate the correct operation and the efficiency of the proposed converter topology. The control algorithm is, also, experimentally implemented using a dSPACE 1104 control board.
