This paper aims to demonstrate that information activates the desire flows and makes the urban transformation machine work. It focuses on understanding how urban transformation currently works as a Deleuzian machine, rather than focusing on how it is implemented. The main focus is to map the trajectory of the word flows through the narratives. First of all technical knowledge flow through media texts and official public statements take their place in the urban transformation process. Technicians and scientists inform that we need to implement the urban transformation process. Then the media starts to glorify the urban transformation process representing how beautiful the new houses are. Finally in informal neighborhoods (which are entitled as gecekondu in Turkish urban system) the word flows transform into rumor flows. These rumor flows, which are ignored during the planning process, channel desire flows, making certain spaces more or less attractive and affect the whole transformation process.

In this study, we fabricated Hf-doped indium zinc oxide thin-film transistors (HIZO TFTs) using a solution process. Channel layers of the TFTs were optimized by varying the molar ratio of Hf in the channel layers. The electrical properties of the fabricated devices were compared to gallium indium zinc oxide (GIZO). HIZO TFTs showed 0.12 V threshold voltage, 0.45 V/decade subthreshold swing and 1.24 × 106 on–off current ratio, which were excellent compared to that of GIZO. In particular, when a positive gate bias stress of 10 V was applied for 103 s, the HIZO TFT exhibited a lower threshold voltage shift of 1.11 V than the GIZO TFT (1.88 V). These results originate from the higher oxygen bonding with Hf in IZO compared to Ga atoms. We confirmed that Hf acts as an excellent carrier suppressor whose properties exceed those of Ga.

Abstract Educational quality in Brazil has improved at a slow pace despite continued public policy efforts. The international literature has noted the importance of school management and the principal’s profile on students’ performance, but this discussion is recent in Brazil. In this study, we investigate the effects of the selection process of principals on students’ performance from public state schools in Brazil. We conclude that while the “selection process” channel is not clear, the “principal quality effect” indicates that the more democratic and technical selection methods tend to select most qualified principals in terms of leadership and managerial abilities. The principal who has time to implement changes, who adopts management practices to encourage teachers and has experience being the leader of the school present better results in terms of student’s performance. Therefore, it is important that the principal selection process choose professionals with the skills mentioned.

Microfluidics devices have been applied in the biomedical field to manipulate the tissue fluids in channels with dimensions between 5-500 lm. Microfluidics device manufactured by a microfabrication process consisting of design, microstucturing and back-end processes. One application of microfluidics is a passive mixing microchannel. In this device, the liquid will flow through the channel without any moving parts and the pressure from the outside to produce a fluid mixing. It is important to design the shape of the channel to generate a nice passive mixing microchannel. Low power CO2 laser is used to process microstucturing as cutting tools to produce microfluidic devices on acyilic material. Surface roughness lines were designed to be observed. In this study, the design process channel carried by the experimental method through the parameters that affect the output of the process is the power of laser cutting, cutting speed and design channel. And then the fabrication of microfluidics with back-end processing is done by the process of merging with a thermal bonding method. Finally, From the experimental results, the design of the channel 1 has an influence on all the parameters for surface roughness compared with a channel design 2.

Assembly performance test bed is an indispensable equipment in the development and production of air compressor assembly. The test bed studied is a mechanical, electronic and hydraulic integrated equipment and its measuring and controlling system mainly consist of computer system, process channel, control object and measuring and controlling software. Guided by the “soft hardware” design conception, two “soft” subsystems was adopted in a one-level computer system to replace the generally adopted two-level “hard” system consisting of measuring and controlling subsystem and management subsystem. This improvement allows the more applications of integrated sensor and intelligent controller, resulting in a simpler hardware and greater openness. The practice indicated that, with rapid parameter adjustment, accurate measuring, large testing scope and high automation, the system meets all the technical indexes of test requirement.
