Abstract: For the past few years, there has been a considerable research on the basis of Novel drug delivery system, using particulate vesicle systems as such drug carriers for small and large molecules. Nanoparticles, Liposomes, Microspheres, Niosomes, Pronisomes, Ethosomes, Proliposomes have been used as drug carrier in vesicle drug delivery system. Nanotechnology refers to the creation and utilization of materials whose constituents exist at the nanoscale; and, by convention, be up to 100 nm in size.. Nanoparticles are being used for diverse purposes, from medical treatments, using in various branches of industry production such as solar and oxide fuel batteries for energy storage, to wide incorporation into diverse materials of everyday use such as cosmetics or clothes, optical devices, catalytic, bactericidal, electronic, sensor technology, biological labelling and treatment of some cancers. Various polymers have been used in the formation of Nanoparticles. Nanoparticles have been improving the therapeutic effect of drugs and minimize the side effects. Basically, Nanoparticles have been prepared by using various techniques as such dispersion of preformed polymers, polymerization of monomers and ionic gelation or coacervation of hydrophilic polymer. Most common methods of delivery include the preferred topical (skin), transmucosal (nasal, buccal, sublingual, vaginal, ocular and rectal) and inhalation routes. The conventional dosage forms provide drug release immediately and it causes fluctuation of drug level in blood depending upon dosage form. Therefore to maintain the drug concentration within therapeutically effective range needs novel drug delivery system. In the past few decades, considerable attention has been focused on the development of novel drug delivery system (NDDS). The NDDS should ideally fulfill two prerequisites. Firstly, it should deliver the drug at a rate directed by the needs of the body, over the period of treatment. Secondly, it should channel the active entity to the site of action. In conventional drug delivery systems, there is little or no control over release of the drug and effective concentration at the target site can be achieved by irregular administration of grossly excessive doses. At present, no available drug delivery system behaves ideally, but sincere attempts have been made to achieve them through various novel approaches in drug delivery.

WHO database mentions that the global anemia-affected population is 24.8%. To name a few conditions in which compromisation of the red blood corpuscles and hemoglobin occurs are iron deficiency anemia, gestational anemia, anemia due to malaria and parasitism, hemolytic anemia, sickle cell anemia. The line of treatment in case of anemia involves administration of iron supplements, plasmapheresis, steroids, blood transfusion at regular intervals, and lifestyle changes. The systematic approach applied for the pharmaceutical molecules should be equally inculcated in the case of nutraceuticals. The traditional system when woven carefully with the novel drug delivery system will give effective nutrient delivery. Functional foods have inherent nutritional value. Nutraceuticals and functional food cannot cure the anemic condition, but help the patient lead life almost like a normal individual.

Phytoconstituents have been utilized as medicines for thousands of years, yet their application is limited owing to major hurdles like deficit lipid solubility, large molecular size and degradation in the gastric environment of gut. To overcome this hurdle, Novel Drug Delivery System (NDDS) proves to be a promising method for formulations containing phytoconstituents. In present work, phyto-phospholipids complex (phytosomes) of Euphorbia neriifolia L. has been prepared to improve the absorption and bioavailability of phytoconstituents. Euphorbia neriifolia L. consists of flavonoids, saponins and polyphenols which possess various medicinal properties. These constituents are hydrophilic in nature and have large molecular size, thus causing poor absorption. Phyto-phospholipids complex of Euphorbia neriifoliahas been prepared by taking Phosphatidylcholine (PC), Cholesterol and Euphorbia neriifolia extract in different ratio and the formulation been optimized to achieve maximum entrapment efficiency and smaller molecular size. The prepared phytosomes has been evaluated by Optical Microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Dynamic Light Scattering and UV/Vis Spectroscopy for physical appearance, entrapment efficiency, particle size, zeta potential and dissolution rate. The result so obtained indicates the improvement in the absorption rate and bioavailability of the phytoconstituents. Thus, Novel Drug Delivery System (NDDS) possess a great potential in overcoming the challenges of plant based formulations. There is less damage sustained by normal tissue due to targeted drug delivery. In this paper our main focus to give the throughout knowledge of some newer (Novel drug delivery system) to understand the concept of the Novel dossage form.
