Physical fitness is the ability of an athlete to fulfill the physical activities that are needed for the sport without becoming weary. This is a very important thing that determines an athlete’s performance. The predominant component of physical fitness for rhythmic gymnastics are muscular endurance, muscle strength, power, and flexibility. The study aimed to gather information regarding the physical fitness profile of Bandung City rhythmic gymnastic athletes before competing in Pekan Olah Raga Daerah Jawa Barat (PORDA Jabar) XI event in 2010. The descriptive studywas conducted using the survey method. Subjects consist of 9 female Bandung City rhythmic gymnastic athletes. Muscle endurance, muscle strength, power, and flexibility were measured using appropriate tests and tools and then grouped according to Standard KONI Pusat. The results of this study showed that most of the rhythmic gymnastic athletes were in this categories: perfect for arms and shoulders muscle endurance, the average for stomach muscle endurance, below standard formuscle strength of the hands, the average for muscle strength of arms and shoulders, good and very good for muscle strength of the back, the average for muscle strength of the legs, below average and average for arms and shoulders power, very good for legs power, and perfect for flexibility. In a conclusion, the performance of Bandung City rhythmic gymnastic athletes can be improved byincreasing the training that is specific for each of the physical fitness components.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rhythmic gymnastics on body balance, limb coordination, limb flexibility and limb strength of children aged 5-6 years using a quantitative approach with Pre Experimental with a pretest-posttest with control group design. The study population was all students in Al-Azhar Islamic Kindergarten in Cirebon. Variable X is the Rhythmic Gymnastics Method, and the Y variable is the Gross Motoric Development of Children Aged 5-6 Years The study sample consisted of 15 students using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques used are observation and documentation. Data analysis uses the Independent Sample T Test. The results showed that the average sample after performing the rhythmic gymnastic method was able to increase the children's gross motor skills by an average of 259.00 in the experimental group and 277.33 in the control group. From these results it can be analyzed that all samples of the experimental group have the same results, namely gross motor children after doing more Rhythmic Gymnastics. The conclusion of the study was that there was an effect of the rhythmic gymnastic method on gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years in the experimental group of 259.00 and in the control group of 277.33 in Al-Azhar Kindergarten students in Cirebon. Suggestions from this study are Al-Azhar Kindergarten students in Cirebon City to routinely do exercises at least 3 times a week.

Poucos são os estudos que abordam as questões relacionadas ao diagnóstico e prognóstico de talentos esportivos em nosso país. Na Ginástica Rítmica Desportiva (GRD), essas questões parecem não estar bem esclarecidas, possivelmente por tratar-se de uma modalidade esportiva bastante recente. Percebe-se que os critérios para se detectar, selecionar ou promover ginastas ao alto nível, quase sempre são estabelecidos subjetivamente pelas técnicas, sem a utilização de critérios científicos. Os estudos já realizados apontam para a necessidade de conhecimento do potencial genético das atletas, associado a um meio ambiente favorável ao seu desenvolvimento. Este estudo de revisão teve por objetivo tentar esclarecer a importância de se utilizar critérios científicos fundamentados em referenciais cineantropométricos de ginastas de alto nível de diferentes categorias, com a finalidade de identificar as possuidoras de talento e desenvolvê-las por meio de treinamento sistematizado, para que atinjam o mais alto desempenho possível, em razão do potencial existente.
