Topological models for stable motivic invariants of regular number rings

For an infinity of number rings we express stable motivic invariants in terms of topological data determined by the complex numbers, the real numbers and finite fields. We use this to extend Morel’s identification of the endomorphism ring of the motivic sphere with the Grothendieck–Witt ring of quadratic forms to deeper base schemes.

“When the first session may be the last!”: A case report of the implementation of “rapid tele-psychotherapy” with single-session music therapy in the COVID-19 outbreak

Objective Conventional psychotherapy with a lengthy and regular number of meetings is no longer relevant in the case of COVID-19, when persons with psychiatric problems, especially COVID-19 patients/clients, really require immediate psychological assistance. It is recognized as a “rapid test” in the field of body health to rapidly decide whether or not a person is affected by COVID-19. So, we should now be able to use the term “rapid tele-psychotherapy” with Single-Session Music Therapy (SSMT) in the field of mental health to characterize the mechanism of assistance provided to persons who seek therapeutic assistance virtually during this COVID-19 outbreak, so that they will easily and reliably be freed from troubling psychiatric issues. Method The author reports the case of a 33-year-old widow with asymptomatic COVID-19 who was admitted to her own home. Results The author describes the effectiveness of the implementation of rapid tele-psychotherapy with SSMT in reducing the scale of anxiety, panic, fear, depression, acute stress, insomnia, and delusions of death. Significance of results This case can provide new inputs or ideas for counselors/psychologists/psychiatrists/therapists who work in hospitals/institutions to provide rapid tele-psychotherapy with SSMT as therapeutic assistance for individuals who need psychotherapy in this COVID-19 outbreak, especially for COVID-19 patients/clients. Besides that, this concept is not only suitable for rapidly screening individuals that may face psychological problems and helping them better seek therapeutic assistance, but can also be used as an adjuvant therapy for psychiatric patients.

Orthodontic Management Of An Erupted Mesiodens: A Case Report

Introduction: Hyperdontia is the condition of having supernumerary tooth, or teeth, which appear in addition to the regular number of teeth. It is a developmental anomaly and has been argued to arise from multiple aetiologies. It may remain embedded in the alveolar bone or can erupt into the oral cavity. Mesiodens is a supernumerary tooth located in the anterior maxilla, placed palatally or in between the maxillary central incisors. It may be single or paired, erupted or impacted and at times even inverted. Aesthetic or functional problems are two main issues associated with mesiodens.This case report demonstrates the orthodontic management of a case of a nonsyndromic male patient with conical type supernumerary tooth at the maxillary anterior region with a Class I malocclusion complicated by palatally erupted upper right lateral tooth with Bolton discrepancy. Good aesthetic and functional result achieved at the end of treatment.

Non-syndrome patient with bilateral supernumerary teeth: Case report and 9-year follow-up

ABSTRACTThe presence of supernumerary teeth, also known as hyperdontia, is the condition of having teeth in addition to the regular number of teeth. The occurrence of multiple supernumerary teeth is often found in association with syndromes such as Gardner syndrome, Anderson-Fabry disease, Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, incontinentia pigmenti, and Tricho-rhino-phalangeal syndrome. Only a few examples of nonsyndromic multiple supernumerary teeth have been reported in literature. In this report, we present the unusual case and 9-year follow up of a non-syndrome female patient with bilateral supernumerary teeth that occurred with an interval of several years. Research and Realization of Auto-Calibration Technique Based on Structured Grating 3D Measuring System

This paper introduced present application in the world and some problems in the calibration technique of 3D measuring system. Auto-calibration technique of multiple targets tracking for detecting outline based on random placement and regular number is put forward. At the same time, the concrete algorithm is given. Then, according to the algorithm, the corresponding experimental result is obtained. Furthermore, the calibration accuracy is compared and analyzed. Finally, it comes to a conclusion that this algorithm can make the operation more simple and convenient. And the calibration accuracy is kept within 0.03mm.

Semantic/pragmatic equivalence through formal and motivational shift

How would translators approach a process in which they have to make decisions on mapping the grammatically enforced regular number mechanism of a language such as English onto a system like Japanese, where there is no regular coding of number in a noun phrase? Utilising the concepts of motivation for representation of number, and of ‘formal-shift’ (Catford, 1965), this paper demonstrates that in spite of the lack of a grammatical category of number, there is a coherent mechanism that expresses number distinction in Japanese, either implicitly or explicitly, and that in order to achieve the full semantic and pragmatic intent expressed in English in terms of the number of referents, translators have quite a complex task in deciding ‘when’ and ‘how’ to mark number in Japanese. The paper shows that the ‘one’ and ‘more than one’ opposition regularly coded in English is interpreted into a more complex system of number conception in Japanese, namely ‘one’, ‘more than one’, ‘collective image’ and ‘unspecified’. It also draws attention to the various linguistic devices used in Japanese to express number distinction outside the scope of a noun phrase. The paper advocates the usefulness of the approach suggested here for examining instances of transfer of meaning between two typologically distinct languages.
