The present study examines whether Positive Psychotherapy (PPT) fulfills the three common efficacy factors of psychotherapy postulated by Grawe et al. (1994) and in doing so takes the therapists’ assessment of the common factors, the length of professional experience of therapists and multiple times of measurement into account. 207 outpatients (66 males, 41 females) and their therapists – who were trained in PPT – evaluated the fulfillment of the three common factors after an individual therapy session. Results provide support for the effectiveness of PPT: patients and therapists both assessed PPT to fulfill the three common efficacy factors. However, patients perceived all three factors to be fulfilled to an even higher degree than therapists did. Additionally, two of the common factors were judged to be more fulfilled when the treating therapist had more rather than less professional experience. Lastly, patients experienced therapy as even more effective over time. The verification of the effectiveness of Positive Psychotherapy via an explicit measurement of the common efficacy factors leads to a gain of knowledge and has important implications for psychotherapists practicing and teaching PPT alike. Furthermore, the present study provides new and interesting approaches for future research.

Academic self-efficacy is one’s belief in his/her ability to do assignments, regulate their learning activities, or realize their academic expectations. Indeed, a great level of academic efficacy is needed by one student so he or she can meet his/her academic expectations. The purpose of this study was to examine the results of research related to external factors affecting academic self-efficacy. Literature identification was conducted on databases such as google scholar, Science direct, SAGE Journals, and Springerlink using the keywords ”efikasi diri akademik”, ”academic self-efficacy”, and ”academic self-efficacy factors”. The results of this study found that family factors, friendship factors, and teacher support factors are external factors that can affect the level of individual’s academic self-efficacy.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among collective efficacy factors, as measured by the Illinois 5Essentials Survey, and college readiness scores, as reported by American College Testing (ACT), for high schools in the state of Illinois. The 5Essentials have been considered crucial to school success and therefore used to describe learning environments and as basis for decisions on school improvement. However, little research has investigated the efficacy of the 5Essentials in their impact on academic achievement. This study used Illinois 5Essentials Survey and ACT data to interrogate the value of 5Essentials. Analysis of data determined that while correlational relationships do exist among the 5Essentials (collective efficacy factors) and that some have predictive qualities for student achievement, the strengths of those relationships are, at best, weak. Outcomes of this survey provide insights that policy makers should consider when recommending the use of these factors to influence school culture and student achievement. Keywords: collective efficacy, Illinois 5Essentials Survey, reciprocal causality, self-efficacy, student achievement, leadership

AbstractWhen attempting to communicate flood risk, trust in and perceptions toward risk information dissemination as well as individual efficacy factors can play a significant role in affecting risk-mitigation motivation and intention. This study seeks to examine how risk communication, risk perception, and efficacy factors affect evacuation motivation and behavioral intentions in response to a presumed flood risk, as based on a conceptual framework guided by protection motivation theory. An online survey was administered to college students (N = 239) from a region that is subject to sea level rise and storm surges. Path analysis results indicate that, while less information-source trust predicts greater risk perception, greater information-source trust predicts greater mitigation-information-seeking intention, lower self-efficacy, and stronger response efficacy. As lower mitigation-information-seeking intention similarly predicts greater risk perception, greater mitigation-information-seeking intention also predicts stronger response efficacy. Significant predictors of evacuation motivation include lower risk perception as well as greater information-source trust, severity perception, and response efficacy. Implications of these findings are discussed in terms of information dissemination channels, messaging strategies, and recent severe flooding events.

This paper investigates the mediating role of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on the effect of online learning self-efficacy factors: learning in an online environment, time management, and technology use to the students' behavioral intention to use learning management system. A cross-sectional explanatory research design was employed to collect and interpret the data gathered from 470 senior high students. Mediation analyses were initiated using PROCESS v3.5 following the procedure of Hayes (2013). Findings revealed that the three online learning self-efficacy factors, perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use could explain the variation of students' behavioral intention to use. The results further showed that perceived usefulness and ease of use are both significant mediators in the relationship between online learning self-efficacy factors and student's behavioral intention to use. These results suggest that the future intention to use is higher when the students' perception of LMS found it valuable and easy to use. Development and adoption of LMS in educational institutions should consider the usefulness and manageability features to increase usage, fostering successful LMS-based course implementation.

AbstractThe bollworm can be controlled effectively with Bacillus thuringiensis transgenic cotton (Bt cotton) which is being applied worldwide. However, the insecticidal efficacy is not stable. Here we give a summary of research progress for the mechanism of the altered insecticidal efficacy, factors affecting the expression of insect resistance, agronomic practices on regulation of insecticidal efficacy in Bt cotton. To realize the transgenic potential of Bt cotton cultivars, future research may be conducted by increasing synthesis and reducing degradation of Bt protein to maintain high insecticidal ability in the transgenic cotton by agronomic management.

Introduction. The present investigation was carried out in the therapeutic community "Camino a la Paz" that provides professional services of psychological care for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of alcohol and drug addictions. Objectiveto determine the levels of resilience in the treatment and rehabilitation of drug-dependent patients. Materials and methodsthe research was developed in a sample of 60 patients and 4 professionals from the "Camino a la Paz" Therapeutic Community, using the SV-RES test (Saavedra, 2008) as a tool, patients and a survey of professionals. who work in the area. The study is of an exploratory-descriptive nature and its inductive-deductive method. ResultsThe results obtained indicate that the resilience is fostered and develops during the time determined by the psychotherapeutic process. Discussionthe results of the study determine that the levels of resilience in the patients of the Therapeutic Community "Camino a la Paz" are mostly in the average level. ConclusionsThe analysis obtained in the verbalization I can, indicate that the values of the affectivity and self-efficacy factors stand out with a high level of resilience.
